Hi everyone!!

Kery

 That's funny! Kids have a tendancy to say what they think - hey?

Tanya

Gotta love the afterburn of muscles after hiking - but it's wonderful to be surrounded by beautiful nature for a weekend!

Your babies sound like they've got into the swing of being siblings already - particularly kicking at each other!

Sounds like a good idea to be going with a c-section after the placenta previa diagnosis.

Isn't it annoying that the tech wouldn't slow down? Would 5 extra mins to take a good shot really make a difference?

I think it was quite confrontational for all of us to have SD in the IVF room. We'd discussed this all before over dinner but this was much more formal. It felt like I had two husbands at one stage - felt a bit depressed about it actually.Tried to humorously convince myself I was like one of those traditional Polynesean women with two husbands - particularly walking out of the clinic organising both of them!

Had a quite down couple of days actually - just starting to feel happy and more like myself again today. I also wrote an application for a new job which goes in on Wednesday, and a friend at work just picked it up and started editing it for me - which was brilliant!! I've bought her chocolate to say thanks.

I've also decided to see a work counsellor about (funnily enough) work. I haven't felt happy there in a while and wanted to talk about some ideas on how to cope.

Anyway - enough from me - how are you all?

That would be so strange. I cant even imagine. You are so funny with imagining about having two hubbys! That was great! That would be....weird. Anyhow I commend you for making it through and now moving upward on onward.

That is great about the new job. What did you apply for? In my book chocolate ALWAYS says thank you!!!! LOL

Its great that you have a work counselor. I think if I asked for one they would be like deal with it this is the job take it or leave it. I dont think that my facility would worry about me. It hink that they look at everyone as a dime a dozen or something....sad to say.

Hi

As Tanya said that's great your work offers a councelor. At my work if we are not happy they are more than willing to show us the door!

I do know what you mean about feeling weird using a donor. As I was looking through the donor list I was thinking "I can't believe I am doing this". I am totally fine with using a donor but I just never thought I would be going through any of this.

Hi everyone,

I applied for a job as a Head Teacher at a different school - but this one is called 'Teaching and Learning' which basically means being a person that drives the training for the school. I honestly didn't think that I would ever go for a Head Teacher's position - quite wary of the things you have to do to get there (eg play politics) - but I can't put my life on hold forever and I've been quite unhappy doing the work I'm doing, getting a good response but not having the pay nor the responsible job title...

The work counsellor is supplied by the Department, and is held at a clinic separate to the workplace. I suppose they would prefer teachers to work out their issues this way rather than resigning, breaking down or taking it out on the kids/other members of staff. They had a similar service when I worked in another public service department. It's free - so I thought, why not? It's better than being miserable.

Went out tonight to a trivia night at school, and saw the lesbian couple I mentioned earlier (ie used a different process with the donor). They bought their baby with them - he was absolutely gorgeous!! Makes you realise what you are doing this for...

Anyway, must sign off - getting rather sleepy!! Goodnight...

Kery,
I distinctly remember that feeling as you stated: "As I was looking through the donor list I was thinking "I can't believe I am doing this". I am totally fine with using a donor but I just never thought I would be going through any of this."

I remember after we selected the donor I called to "place an order" (literally what is was) for the sperm and said to the woman " My God, I feel like I am ordering a pair of shoes from a catalog" She laughed but I remember feeling that this process was really a symbol of a complete life change, on so many levels, but yet the process was such a nonchalant thing. (Mind you we don't have a lot of the guidelines other countries have - yet)

Very weird...you are right I never though we'd be doing that either.

Hey everyone!!

Well I saw the counsellor - I'm glad I went. She's given me some exercises to stop the negative thoughts taking over, to think about things I'm grateful for, and another one to concentrate on the relationship between me and DH.

I'm also attending WW and have lost 2kg in a month which I'm happy about.

Feeling much more positive about life.

How is everyone else??

Hi Gargy
I'm really glad to hear that you are feeling better. I know sometimes it is really hard to stay positive about things without even throwing infertility into it all. I remember when I had come to a point when I just wanted to hide somwwhere away from everything. Between moving country and not knowing anyone, work, my son (who has ADHD), my partner working off shore and ivf my head was just spinning!!

We went to the councellor a few days ago. So now I see the doctor on the 21st and then it's all go from there.

Hi to everone!!

Hi Gargy
Yep it all went well. They have changed there minds again and I am doing a diui. I told them that I can't keep up with them anymore! I am starting a assessment cycle when my af turns up which includes having a Sicosy (tube blast out). I think I'd rather just do a ivf cycle now it seems that a iui is just as bad.

The nurse that I saw was a real pain in the a##. She told me that when I am at the end of my assessment to avoid having intercourse as I might get pregnant in the process. I just looked at her and said "why would be using a donor if that was the case?" She then told me that sperm comes and goes. I just about fell on the floor laughing. After that sher decided to give me a huge run down on the effects of Puregon. I tryed to tell her many times that I have done two cycles already using Puregon but she just rattled on!

I have really just about had enough of all this ivf stuff. The last year and a half I have spend in and out of clinics. I know that we have come too far to give up now but just come the end is in sight soon.

Anyway enough of my moaning how are you?

Hey everyone!!

Kery - sorry that you are getting mucked around so much - hopefully DIUI won't be as invasive - I have heard this but don't really know as I haven't gone through the IVF process yet.

Can't believe the nurse that you had!! Had a similar experience with someone from work today - telling me all about someone that had fallen pregnant because their husband had LOW sperm count. I sat there waiting for the penny to drop that there is a difference between LOW sperm and NO sperm - but she just kept prattling on. Save me!!

Went through a very crappy week last week - sorry about the disappearing act. Didn't get the job and was doing some soul searching about whether it is worth the effort adding change of job to every other stress we have at the moment. Would you believe even the pets are feeling it - our dog is having poo problems and the cat has mouth ulcers due to stress!

Feeling slightly better today as I had a great day at work.

How are things with you??

How is everyone else out there? Tanya? Donna?

Gargy I'm sorry that you didn't that job but glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better. Isn't it strange that your pets are having a hard time too. Sometimes we forget that our pets can pick up on the stress that's going on in there home.

I am doing my first blood test tomorrow for the assessment and then next Tuesday I go in for the Hicosy (test if tubes are blocked). Not looking forward to another anaesthetic but I really wouldn't like to be awake for that one.

Hope everyone doing ok.

Hey gang...
we are back from vacation and not a moment too soon! My DH nearly killed us with his driving on that RV trip!!! Oh well. AT least that is over.
Things are going well for me. I had another u/s and she was able to confirm for me boy and girl. And we are for sure going with Sophie and Riley for our names. I have been shopping like crazy for pink stuff!!! LOL I only have blue things with my two boys. This is a lot of fun. Still scary but fun. I still worry alot and I shouldnt. They are starting to move more and I love it. But if they take a break I freak out! LOL

Gargy
How did the counseling sessions go for you? You feel like you got some really good ideas from her on the negative thoughts? What did she tell you to do? Heck yeah I would try it for free. I mean why not. You have nothing to lose.
I am so sorry that you did not get the job. That is never a good feeling. I remember going to a job interview and I thought that it was working out OK and then they called and said that I didnt get it and I was really devastated. I felt rejected and it didnt feel too good. Maybe you just need one stress in your life at a time! :)

Donna
I loved your comment about ordering sperm and shoes!!! It really is like that isnt it? That was great. I thought the same thing when DH and I sat down to look through the catalog and try to figure out which one we were going to use. I was like well hunny pick yourself out! LOL

Kery
Your clinic is nuts with all of that changing around and stuff. I can't keep up with them either! It is easy to get discouraged about all of this IVF stuff but it is the what if about the next cycle. Maybe just one more....I understand your thoughts about that. In fact I would be getting it on all the time!!! So that your bases are covered!!! Then they can inseminate you and you can be like Who the daddy of my baby? LOL Like anna nicole!!! Good luck with the blood work! How did it go.

Hi Tanya

Haha your dh's driving sounds like mine. I love the names you picked!! When I was pregnant they told me I was having a girl so I went out and got lots of pink stuff. Then when he was born I was so surprised when the doctor said "it's a boy!" my mum said well he better like pink!!

Yep bloods all went good and have a ultrasound this morning.

I have been checking with them every two weeks!!! I get an u/s with different people every other week and every time I am like what do you see and they are all confirming. I always say...are you sure. I dont tell them what I know because I want to know what they see and not influence them. I feel pretty good about it now. I wanted to make sure before I dug everything out ya know?

That is nuts about your situation...I have heard of that happening...werent you like totally stunned? I would be. I would be like hunny can you go to babies r us and get us a blue outfit or two!!!!

Hi ya
Yep I was pretty shocked alright but it was a nice surprise. I went in for my op on Tuesday (Hicosy) everything was clear so just a few more tests then onto the puregon shots. I can't believe the amount of tests and things when I have no fertility issues.
