2 week wait anxiety!

Post by RMSM »

Hi everyone! I'm new to this wonderful website and hope to join in the support network here. I am currently in the midst of that long 2 week wait after doing my second IVF. With a long history of endo., I was never a candidate for IUI because of tube blockage and 2 prior surgeries that left a ton of scar tissue (so I've been told) and jumped right in to IVF about a year and a half ago. This time around, they removed 11 eggs, of which 8 fertilized. They implanted 5 embyros 5 days ago, 2 of which were 8 celled and looked very good. I'm 34, DH is 35. Trying to stay positive, but going through peaks of hope and peaks of doubt regularly. I would love some kind of reassuring sign that it worked, but so far just some minor cramping since the day of transfer. I don't know how to lay low and not stress my body out, but not think about this at the same time. So I'm hoping this board can keep me positive because I need that desperately right now. These are the longest 2 weeks of my life!!!

Hi,
I just had my trasfer today, i did FET, my first IVF ICSI in may was a negative. Today we have trasfered 4 embies, the best one was 8 cell with some fragmentation. I know that 2WW can be very stressfull, but you will do just fine. I am on prometrium suppositories instead of progesteron shots, so i probably won't get as much cramping or sore boobs as i did with those. When is your test day? My is Aug 23rd.
Good luck!!!!

Mine is Aug 20, which is exactly 2 weeks after the transfer. I'm cramping like crazy, but am assuming it's from all the progesterone, right? Goodness, I never thought I"d wish so badly to be nauseous! Well, let's keep each other updated and try our best not to let the 2WW get the best of us. From what I'm reading, everyone just seems to have different symptoms and we shouldn't read to into any of them 9easier said than done!) Your chances are pretty good with 4 embies, one being 8 cell, so lots of baby dust to you and keep me posted!

My Beta is 8/20 as well. We transferred 4 grade B embryos, so I do not know how much of a chance I have. We had a 6 cell and a 5 cell, so I am trying to stay positive...8 cells is perfect! The 2WW is terrible no matter what.

I wish you guys best of luck!!! I also agree that we shouldn't read too much into our symptoms just yet, because maily there will be side effects from progesterone. Are any of you going to do evil HPT? Iam sooo bad with those, i think that i will probably cave in on my second week :D
Baby dust to all!!!

I say this now, but I don't think I'm gonna do a HPT unless I feel SUPER pregnant for some strange reason and really feel it'll be positive. I'll never fully believe what it says anyway, P or N, so I think I'm gonna hold out. If I did the transfer on the 6th, isn't it possible to get my period even before the PT date on the 20th? Oy!

Hey RMSM.,
Please don't think about your period just yet, think that you ARE pregnant. I know it is hard, but you have to stay positive. One more week ( i know it will be a long week) and you will find out.
Lots of baby dust to you!!!

PS I think that i will probably do HPT next weekend, i know it is bad , but i can't kick my POAS addiction lol.

Vlada,
Thanks so much for your encouragement. I'm still hanging on to hope, but also having waves of doubt. I guess that's how it goes, huh? Let me know if taking the HPT test makes you feel any better. Perhaps I'll give it a go too. I always wanted to see at least one positive line in my lifetime! :D Today was a rogh day, so hopefully tomorrow will be better. I think staying in my pajamas all day watching old 80s movies probably isn't the best thing to do in the middle of summer, huh? Ha!

I would like to wish you all the best of luck in your 2 week wait. It is very tough I know. I has a failed fresh cycle late last year and a FET in January.
Just lay low, drink plenty of fluids, eat pineapple and enjoy everyone waiting on you.
Also stay away from HPT's they are evil. At least for me they were, I tested the day I went to get my beta and teh HPT was negative. I was hysterical and did not even want to go in but my husband thought I was prego all along. i stopped my shots and everything cause I knew I was not preg..Well I was...
So good luck and keep the hope high.

Skidoo,
What a success story, good luck with your pregnancy!!!
RMSM,
I hope you will feel better tomorrow!!!
I too would like too see a pink line for a change, i have never ever gotten one either. But I don't want to encourage anybody to take HPTs, they are evil , you know. I am just being true to myself, I know for a fact that I don't posess enough patience to last till blood work without taking stupid HPT, sorry.
Meanwhile, I have the worst backache, i think it is from laying on that super uncomfortable trasfer table, oh well..... also i am getting really bored, i don't know how i am going to last till Wednesday!!! ARHHHH!!!

hpt

Post by mommy wannabe »

Hi - I am new to both ivf and message boards. I had two embyos transfered on 8-3, nine days ago. My next period is due tomorrow, 8-13. Needless to say I thought it was o.k. to take a hpt. I figured the hcg from the trigger shot I had two weeks ago would be out of my system and hcg from a pregnancy would be kicking in. I took the test this morning - it was neg. It has been a long tearful day for us. I found this site and new hope for tomorrow. Could it have been wrong?
