Laura--That's such promising news! My babies are 8 weeks today, so I'm hoping in 3 weeks we'll be doing the same! (Which is perfect as I go back to work part time in 2 1/2 weeks.) The bottle feeding is SOOOO much better! Ahhhhh.....I still breast feed each baby a tiny bit. ellie gets a little "appetizer" in the morning and Braeden gets his at night. I honestly don't mind that, and it doesn't hurt anymore, so it's pretty pleasant to have those short bonding moments. However, I'm assuming my milk will completely dry out soon, and then we'll be done with our little pre-dinner snacks! About how much are your boys eating at a feeding? My kiddos vary from meal to meal. Sometimes they'll eat as little as 2 oz. and other times they chow down 6. (Of course, they don't eat the same amounts at the same time!). I'm hoping their appetites get into some sort of pattern here soon. I end up wasting formula at times.

Well, today's my 4th anniversary. DH and I went out to dinner. I guess I should log off here....he probably wants some cuddle time. Oh dear.....I'm too tired for any hanky panky!

They usually eat 5oz, though sometimes 4oz or 6oz. My pedi said to make sure they get at least 24oz a day. So now that they are sleeping so long, I'm feeding them every 3 hrs while they are awake (8, 11, 2, 5, 8). I know some babies eat a lot more than 5oz at 3 months, but since they started out so small, they are only 10 & 11 lbs now. They little tummies only hold so much.

If the boys leave 2oz or more in their bottle, I will save in the refridge until their next feeding. Since Nicholas is on such expensive formula, there is no way I am throwing it out!

Good morning everyone!

Kim and Laura~
Reading your posts is so much fun for me! It has really been a step-by-step guide to the first weeks with twins. I'm also thrilled to hear you are both traveling with the babies already. We have a yearly trip we take in October and I'm hoping the babies will be ready for it. Who know when they will arrive though?

Speaking of that. . .Did you OB's give you guesses as to when your babies would be here? My OB had said last Wednesday that he was pushing for the 35 weeks mark now. Our goal has been 36 all along but all the sudden we are getting closer. My few little issues are those pesty contractions I have had since month three, very low iron even with meds, poor circulation, and very minimal weight gain on my body but the twins are perfect size. I just hit the 20 lbs. mark but it took some effort. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this if any.

The nursery is almost ready! I'm having someone measure for the bedding today and then we are waiting for one piece of furniture to arrive and we are done! I may paint a few more things but I can't wait to post some photos when it's complete. It is turning out pretty sweet. I hope they love it.

I wonder how Diane and Em are doing? I hope all is well!

Take care everyone!

Ladies,
I have a question,
I think I started to feel the movements, but I feel baby A more, then baby B, sometimes I feel like I am imagining that baby B is moving at all

Should I call a doctor or wait for a lil bit? My next appt is in 10 days.

Malinka,

I had a hard time figuring out which baby was moving because of the way that they were positioned. I still sometimes am not completly sure which little guy is dancing around. I think especially if you are earlier on that it may be normal to not fully be able to tell how is the one moving. If you are concerned I would call the doctor to set your mind at ease, but like I said I think it may be common.

Erin,
thank you so much for your answer.
what are the positions of your babies? Mine: baby A is below belly bottom, and baby B is on a 2nd floor.

Malinka~
I had this same question two visits ago. I only felt one side moving and it turns out that the babies had gone from both being vertex to one being transverse. It ended up putting 4 little feet on one side of my belly. FUN! My OB said if I was ever worried to come straight in and get and u/s. Never too safe and it's harmless to findout. How far along are you?

Take care~

Laura--You sound just like me! We're trying to feed every 3 hours during the day and then letting them go at night. Most days we get 7 feedings in, but other days (like today) we're only getting 6. However, today they were pretty much eating 4 or 5 oz. every feeding, so it sounds like they're getting enough according to your doc. [Laura--by the way, I thought we were supposed to pitch any unused formula after an hour....I think that bacteria from the babies' mouths can harvest in the bottle. Did your doc say it was okay? I know what you mean about the expensive formula, but I thought I'd check...]

Kimberly--My doc's goal was to get to 36 weeks. They never did schedule my c-section. They had planned on scheduling it for around 37-38 weeks with the understanding that I might go early...which I did....36 weeks and 6 days. Only 20 pounds!????? wow, you are blessed! I gained around 50 (I'm 5'4"), and I still have about 20-25 to go to lose. People say I'm looking pretty good, but I can't fit into ANY of my prepregnancy pants. I definitely have some jiggle in my belly, but my hips and ribs seem to still be spread out. So, I started running yesterday....with my dog. It's too hot for the babies to be out, but I will have them in my double jogger soon!

Malinka--It was always hard for me to tell which baby was kicking. Ellie was on my left and Braeden was on my right, but sometimes the kicks were so close to my middle that I couldn't tell. I agree with Kimberly though...if you're concerned, call your OB.

Kim~ After hearing what other women of twins gained, I can't help but wonder why I am not putting on more weight? In the end if they are both healthy, of course, I will be thrilled but as of now it has always been in the back of my head. I am 5'2" and my OB seems fine with it? I literally look exactly the same if you take away the belly. I could wear all my clothes if I could buttom them????? Doesn't it seem strange? I pray that there is nothing medically wrong that I don't know about. It is a worry of mine no matter how hard I try not to think too much about it.
Thanks for the additional info.

Have a good night!

Kimberly--I wouldn't worry. Your ob is keeping track of you...are the babes measuring okay on U/S? If so, then you are just a very lucky lady. You must be like Heidi Klum...you pop out a baby and return to your normal weight! You'll be so happy about it after your babies are here. Trust me!

Kim~
Heidi Klum. . . . . . . wouldn't DH love that!!!!!! your comments cracked me up! Thanks for that! The babies are both measuring perfectly on the the u/s and every time I ask my OB about my weight he says "Perfect!" I have consistantly gained weight since 5 months, just not much. I guess I will just continue on and pray that everything turns out great. I would never deny adding some lbs. for the health of these babies.

Have a great afternoon. It's early yardwork and then the lake for us!
Take care~

Good morning everyone!

Quick question~ Any lose their mucus plug???? It's an icky topic, I know, but had to ask. I thought I might have yesterday??? YIKES! My OB and nurse are on vacation but the other nurse told me to see if I had any fluid, which I didn't, and to take it easy. I had to call her a couple times and report back but the babies are still kicking around like crazy and I have an OB appoinment tomorrow 1st thing but I just had to ask.

Take care~

I lost my mucus plug at 8:00pm Sunday night and my water broke 5 hours later! I wasn't sure if it really was my plug because it was clear. I thought it would be pink (bloody show), but it was clear and thick, kind of like the mucus when you are ovlulating. If you have lost yout plug, I hope you are able to hang in there a little longer. It would be great if you could hit at least 35 weeks.

I'm at my aunt's house and borrowing her computer for a minute. She has dial-up which I haven't seen in years. I forgot how slow it is.

Boys did not do well on the car ride here. They did well the first 4 hrs but cried for the next 3.

Laura~
Thanks for the post! It is quite concerning but I just have to hope for the best. Not to be gross or give TMI, but mine was not clear and it was almost like set up jello. SORRY! After asking some friends w/ children I keep hearing that people delivered soon after and I really hope I don't. My OB's office said you can go weeks w/o it so I am aiming for that.

Sorry the boys didn't love the entire ride. Hopefully they will be in better spirits on the return trip. Some people like to travel at night with small children so they sleep better? I hope it doesn't effect their sleeping through the night. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

Take care~ Kimberly
