Hoping to join this thread. My last IVF cycle was canelled in July. So, I'm very excited to start again this month. I started BCP yesterday. My ER/ET is scheduled in pencil for Sept 12/Sept 15th. In pencil because I am slow responder due to PCOS. Very excited to getting to know everyone better!
Happy Saturday,

Were you cancelled last month due to your estrogen levels? That was my problem last month and I too have PCOS. I'm a slow responder as well.
Best of luck this time around!

Yes, my estrogen was not moving up. The doctors let me stimm for 16 days and only had 1 folly at 18mm. So, we all decided to cut our losses and try again this month. We are doubling the menupor and bravelle this time around.
Are you on Metformin? My docotor said that is supposed to help the egg quality. I am currently at the max dosage so I hope that helps. Where are you know this cycle?......wishing best of luck to both of us this time around.

Welll .... I got my AF this Friday night about 5:45pm. I was so disappointed ... because OF COURSE I was once again for the millionth time convinced I was pregnant and would not have to go thru the IVF thing, even though my Dr. has said getting pregnant naturally for me would be very hard. TYPICAL of me! Uuuggg - LOL
So my doctor's office told me to call as soon as I start my AF even if it was the weekend, so I called the office and the answering service told me that my Dr. will charge me $25 to page the nurse on call or Dr. and I said heck no! So I called this morning and they said I make the right decision and they would not have charged me for that call. So I start my BCP this evening and should have the retrieval around 09/27/07. I am so excited and nervous to start.
So do I need to move over to the Sept/Oct posting??? I guess so!?

chriss How's the stim shots going for you? Mine's starting this friday. I am so excited yet nervous.
mina Glad you joined this group. How was your IVF experience? Were you working when you were going through the process? When you were on the stim shots, how did you feel? Was the bloadedness really bad? Are you in your 2 week waiting period? Sorry...lots of questions for you. Thanks though
Have a good day?

Hello everyone,
I have not been getting my notifications of post replies. Is that happening to any of you? I went to dr.'s today for first sono since starting stims. (I started them on thursday and it's monday.) This is only my first IVF, so I'm not so sure what to expect, but I don't think I'm responding so well. I had two follicles at size 10 and two or three little ones. I don't know if the little ones will catch up. I am 40, so I think this is probobly some of the problem. I woner if I will still be able to do the IVF this cycle. I hope that my doctors can find a way for me to produce more. I feel pretty blue right now. I want to be positive, but I feel like crying. -chriss
P.S. I hope that you are all doing well. Sorry to be such a bummer.
I'm new to thread but just wanted to give you some words of comfort. I've been through 1 IVF cycle (pregnant but miscarried - blood clotting issue) and 1 cancelled cycle. You still have time to get those follies growing. They are supposed to grow 2mm a day. Even when you give have the hcg shot, they are still growing. Have you approached the doctor about upping the meds? Don't give up hope. I know it's hard not getting more but the ole saying on the board "It is not quanity but quality". The first time around for me I had 21 eggies but out of those only 5 fertilized!!! So just relax and discuss your protocol with your doc.

Thanks lala. Are you getting ready to start your stim shots on Friday? Good Luck.
Hellokitty, hi. Well, it is early yet. I'm not scheduled for retrieval for a week. That does give me some time. So thanks for the positive info. I have a blood clotting issue too. (Factor V Leiden) We discovered it when I miscarried at 7-8 weeks. This is not easy. Just curious, why was one of your IVF cycles cancelled? What cause a cycle to be canceled? I am new to this. Thanks. -chriss
I have PCOS and my docs are terrified of upping my dosage so they let me stimm for 16 days! My estrogen was extremely slow to rise. So, we made the decision to cut our losses and try again the following month. They are going to up my dosage but it means more b/w and u/s to watch out for OHSS. You and I have the same blood clotting disorder! I just turned 35 and I am on pins and needles about my remaining eggies! I have 1 perfect blast on ice. But I really wanted to try for a fresh cycle because this is the last time insurance will pay for it and hope to get more eggies to freeze or my BFP!
LaLa - happy stimming....I always want to rush to get to that part!

That's about what happened to me last month. My E2 levels started out high, so they kept dropping my Bravelle until finally my estrogen had sunk too low. Suckage. This time they're starting me on a double dose of Menopur with no Bravelle.
I am on Metformin. 200 mg/day. It seemed to help me while I was on Clomid, until we realized that my DH had some issues as well.
I'm starting Lupron tomorrow and stopping BC. Can't wait! I'm just hoping that I can make it all the way to EC this time. One step at a time, I guess.
Very best of luck to you (and everyone else!)

Lala, how are things going? Have your little follies caught up? It only takes one good egg, remember. I'm totally feeling your concern about being cancelled. I was cancelled last month, and it really stinks. After all the months of not conceiving and then the shots and everything, it's like, COME ON!!!
Hi, Meggs! Welcome aboard. I'm starting Lupron Thursday and I can't wait. It's the best time ever (actually, it's really not that bad). Good luck to you!

Julieboo - I would love to be starting my lupron now.....the BCP part sucks ! I got some good news from the pharmacy. My insurance company is still paying for my meds. Instead of thousands I only had to pay $140 for a 10 day supply of bravelle and menopur (both twice a day)!! So hopefully I can use the money saved for the nursery!
meggs1012 - welcome aboard....I am so jealous that you are taking your lupron. Stuck with BCP for more than a week.
.
mina - how is your 2ww going? I hope your embies are all snuggled down.
For me, just trying to make it through the BCP and keeping up the PMA. DH is supportive but not really talkative until retreival time. So, as usually this board is my best support. You ladies are great!

lala, are you getting ready for the stim shots? You start them Friday right?
Hello kitty, great news about the insurance covering the meds. It's terrible that on top off all of the other stuff, money has to be a concern. As far as I'm concerned, it should all be free for us. when do you start the lupron shots? I'm doing bravelle and menopur 2x a day as well.
Meggs, how are you hanging in there?
Julieboo, one more day till lupron, right?
As for me, I went for second sono since beginning stims. Good news is they are not canceloing my cycle as of yet. I have three largish follies and a few smaller ones that still have some time to grow. The minimum they need to go ahead with the cycel is three. So I just made it. Hoping the little ones grow. I also asked about my response, if it was poor, etc and the nurse told me that I am fine and it's what's expectred for someone my age (40). My blood levels look good and she said no worries. I feel much better after this visit than my last one. Have a great day everyone. Stay positive. - chriss
