1st scan

Hi everyone, Well, our scan went well - we were both feeling really sick waiting (good job it was at 9:30, no breky for either of us) and the sonogropher warned us she may have to peer for a while before giving us the results, but told us within 30 seconds - we were gob-smacked. Everything on the screen was explained, I never realised seeing the heartbeat was like in the cartoons bulging out - weird or what! I asked if we could have a piccy - and she handed me the two she'd already printed for us (including one which show the heartbeat sound), and then gave me another bigger one. So we've had them copied and laminated (yes truely sad I know) to be passed round friends (and FF at Stratford this weekend). Les couldn't stop giggling - even though I kept telling him off in the clinic waiting room and well, its been hard not to grin all day. I'm amazed - we are over another hurdle and the furthest we've been yet so trying to enjoy every minute of it before the paranoia starts again. Got another scan at 8 weeks with the clinic before they discharge us (this morning had app booked for 15/08 then realised I'm training - must have been in a trance when the Dr said, wonder why?!?!?!?) Hi Fiona Im so happy for you both, its great getting to see you babys heart beat ah, well in our case babies (Twins)i get my next scan on the 13th Aug i will be 13wks and 2days by then. Im really really happy for you!! Love Louise x x x x 11wks 3dys (Twins)

Hi Fiona, I am really glad the scan went well..it's so amazing seeing the little heartbeat isn't it? Relax and enjoy.. love Kirsty (26 weeks with one little heartbeat) xx

Hi Fiona - well done on the scan - brilliant. That little flickering heartbeat is wonderful to see isnt it. We also have another scan at 8 weeks which I'm really glad about - wish we cold have one every day!! Really happy for you both. Lots of Love, Jo. XX

Fiona, Congratulaions for your first scan - it's so amazing to see it. You made me laugh about having laminated copies made - i have one of mine in my purse and i just keep showing to everyone, even if it's just someone i just vaguely know!! I'm going to start on strangers next! So pleased it went well for you - hope you post the pic on FF, Much love, Lizzy xxx

dear Fiona, Isn't it exciting seeing it for the first time? What until the 12 week scan - that's even more exciting as it looks more like a person!! The weeks drag in between the scans, but if they've seen the heartbeat at 6 weeks then that's a great sign that things are progressing well. Good luck, Alison (15weeks, 5days)

Glad the scan went well Fiona, you must both be thrilled to bits. I couldn't eat anything before my scan either, and it didn't help when the first thing that appeared on screen looked like some kind of lizard. Fortunately a perfect looking little baby then appeared, so the lizard thing must be part of my anatomy! Good luck with rest of your pregnancy, and I look forward to hearing your updates. I'm just off to Safeway and have decided that at 30 weeks I ought to perhaps think about organising a bag for the hospital, so for the first time tonight we'll browse the baby aisle... Fiona well done - it is fantastic isn't it - I was a nervous wreck before mine and then looked as if I was pg with a baby seahourse! It gets better at later scans - I was just as nervous for my 12 week but couldn't believe how much baby had grown - just waiting until sept 8 for my 20 week. hit the 15 week mark on wednesday. Fiona It does finally sink in when you see the heartbeat but I have to admit it is such a wonderful feeling. I couldn't believe it when I saw my little baby on the screen, but with every scan you see much more because your baby is growing inside you. I can't wait for my 20 week scan now which will be on the 4th Sept it can't come quick enough. Hope everyone else is doing ok, Tracy time seems to be flying we are not far behind each other if you have your 20wk scan on the 8th I have mine on the 4th!! Love Shell. 15wks 3d pg xx

fiona, just popped over from the other side! glad all went well, and i think i would have had the picture plastered on the side of tower bridge(watch this space - you never know!!!) how was FF weekend in Stratford? keep everything crossed for us, ec should be mon, and since we have the same history (M/c at natural concep 10 wks, 3rd ICSI) i am hoping i can follow in your footsteps, love to les,. hope to see you soon, fi XX
