Any Naperville Illinois IVF patients here?

Just wanted to know if anyone in my area is on this forum. Looking for a good support buddy. I am starting my first IVF cycle in one week and could use a mentor.

I just joined this site and noticed your posting for Naperville, IL. I'm not too far from Naperville. I bet we have the same RE, Dr. Morris?? I just finished my first IVF (unsuccessful) and will be going through FET probably around the end of this month. How did your first IVF go?

I actually see Dr. Miller. With my insurance we had 2 options...Dr. Morris and Dr. Miller. I just started my stims yesterday and my ER is tentatively set for 9/11.

Hello Ladies,

I live near Naperville, but Dr is in Hinsdale.

SusanSEA, I noticed you stated your first IVF was unsuccessful, do this mean you went through the process and it failed, or was it cancelled alone the way. The reason I am asking is because I went as far as the ER and they cancelled before the ET saying there were afraid I will get OHSS and now I need to do a FET by December or January. I needed some comfort beacause I can't believe he will take me all the way to the aspiration and than cancel. Even though; I hear this is not unusuall but I asked 2 days prior to the ER if my E2 levels weren't too high to proceed.

Lindsey_08,

How is everything coming alone?

12/28/07 Scheduled FET

Things are going well. I started my stims (300 of Follistim and 75 of Repronex) on Friday. I am also still on 5 IU of Lupron. So far the stims have not been too bad but the Follistim has left me sore and bruised. I don't think I am doing anything wrong but I will ask when I go in for my blood and ultrasound on Tuesday morning. At my last blood and ultrasound (my baseline) everything looked good and I had 16 follicles.

When starting on the stims, has anyone elses ovaries felt like they are throbbing?

Good Luck with everything,

I hope the pain will ease from the Follistim I guess everyone body react different, I did not have a problem with none of the meds but I did have bruises and they weren't sore. Yes, my ovaries ached and I was trying to find out is that part of the process.

Hi ladies,
I've lost track of who said what, so forgive me. As for my first IVF, I had 20 eggs removed, so my IVF cycle was not cancelled. My husband and I went with the preimplantation genetic testing, so that eliminated some of the embabies as "unhealthy". So in total we had 6 healthy, viable embryos (5 boys and 1 girl). They put in one boy and the girl five days later, but they didn't stick. So now we'll be thawing two boys for the FET later this month, maybe early next month. It is extremely common to cancel ETs due to OHSS. I was on another site and couldn't believe how many women suffered OHSS, and had even been hospitalized. So maybe you could take comfort in the fact that your doctor saved you from that trauma. I've read of so many set backs and it is difficult to keep your spirits up when it happens. But you're not alone. I've also had two failed IUIs and after each one I had to take a month off because I always end up with large cysts left over from the meds. But when I read other women's stories and see the encouragement they give, it inspires me to try and deal with things a little better. I hope it helps you too.

FYI, about 10 years ago my sister saw an RE in Highland Park. Can't remember his name, but she now has triplets! It can happen for us too!

And Lindsey, I know the pain you're talking about. I had more than two dozen follicles at the time of my ER and I was beyond uncomfortable. But the anticipation of the procedure, and hearing my doctor say I had 5 boys and 1 girls made me BEAM! Just know that this discomfort is to create your sons and daughters!
