I just got home from my blood test too and I am sitting here crying for the disappointment to come. Was anyone else this negative? I don't know what has gotten into me this morning but I am simply convinced it didn't work. I have been pretty positive up until now. I feel nothing - not pregnant at all!

Yes we have 5 left in the freezer. Thank God or I couldn't handle this. I am really beating myself up and I don't even know the results!!! This is way tougher than I ever thought it would be. I guess just knowing might make me feel better. Maybe I can get all the crying out now so when I get the call I will just be like, well, I knew that! :)

Hoping for your bfp and mine!!!

I talked my clinic into letting me test today also. I have spotting since Sunday and told them I couldn't take it any longer. I just want off the drugs. I just got home and hope that the rest of you have a better result than mine! I personally think the BFNs get a bit easier each time. My first cycle I thought that this was a slam dunk and there was no way it wouldn't work as it was always considered male factor, but after the last two negatives I am cautiously optimistic and try to guard my heart as much as possible. Just because you aren't feeling anything doesn't mean it hasn't worked. Many don't feel anything for weeks. Lets stay in touch today while we all wait in agony!

symtoms of 2 weeks myth

Post by mina »

Yes, I am a male scientist that studies IVF. ((((posted by a scientist ghost)))
i hope it will help you all

But my statement still stands. Cramps are common side effects from progesterone, and cannot indicate pregnancy in IVF cycles. So absence of cramps does not indicate absence of pregnancy. Using cramps as an indicator can give wrong impressions in either direction.

Don't take my word for it. Here's the page on drugs.com that describes the side effects of Crinone, a common progesterone supplement FDA-approved for use in assisted reproduction:

http://www.drugs.com/mtm/crinone.html

"Other, less serious side effects are more likely to occur, such as:

* mild nausea, vomiting, bloating, stomach cramps..."

There's a long list.

At implantation embryos are smaller than salt grains. You cannot sense them. The tiny amount of hCG they make at that stage also cannot be sensed, unless you are having OHSS. Worsening OHSS is the only sign of pregnancy you can have on the 2WW.

I figured out why this 2ww period is the worst. If you think about it, you generally have high hopes from the start and make frequent visits to your doctor's office and see progression on a regular basis. One day you have 2 follicles, a couple of days later you have 4, etc. If you're lucky, you're told that you responded very well to the meds and that at least 75% of your egss fertilized. Woo hoo!!! You do everything you're supposed to do and feel on top of the world because you're being proactive. THEN, you do the transfer and everything stops. You have no idea what's going on inside of you, you can't tell what the symtoms, or lack there of, really mean, and everyone tells you to just not think about it and relax. You're not supposed to overexert yourself at all, so you have to just lounge around and watch a lot of TV. I almost wish there was some daily monitoring at this point; something that can tell me if things are still looking good. But I guess it's all part of the process and we all have to just "stay positive' and wish for the best. I'm 9 days away from PT and can't wait to just know!! Hang in there with me girls. There's way too many success stories out there to ever give up hope!

I just thought I would share my 2ww experience, which nearly landed me in the mental ward! lol! it truly was the worst part of the entire process, especially since I'm such a control freak. I flipped out with any spot of blood, cramp, twinge, headache....anything I felt. I was DYING to know what was going on in my belly! I finally caved and took a HPT 14 days after I triggered, and it was positive. But then I was scared it may have been a false positive, so I spent way toomuch money taking one everyday until my beta to make sure it stayed positive. Lucky for me, the little pink line just got brighter and brighter each day. My first beta was a BFP....my only shock was that is was in the thousands after only transferring one perfect blast. It doubled every two days and we thought it split into twins, but I just had my first sono and the doc only saw one little one. Even now I'm on pins and needles, trying to make it through the first trimester. I'll be 7w tomorrow :)

I sympathize with all of you waiting....and I wish you THE BEST of luck!!!!

I'm 7 days into my 2ww and am convinced it didn't work. I know, I know....not a good way to think. I have moments of hopes, especially when I read the boards, but I have had no spotting and just mild cramps since the ET. I'm trying to keep in mind that I did have 2 grade As and 3 grade Bs implanted after doing a D&C, I'm only 34 and am pretty healthy, but I wish I just felt SOMETHING different. This is only my 2nd IVf, the first being done in a third world country, so not sure if I count it as a true attempt (hee hee). Everyone's stories really helps a lot, so please keep them coming! Anyone who wants a baby badly enough to go through all of this should have one. Good luck to all of you. PT is on Aug 20th!

Vlada, thanks for that pick-me-up. For some reason, I really needed it today. I"m 3 days away from the test and still no big signs, unless I"m looking past the small ones. I know logically that I could be pregnant and have no symptoms, but emotionally it's hard to accept. If his all works, I will definitely be on the message boards all the time telling other women that they could still be pregnant without having any symptoms. My eyes are so puffy from crying all day. This sucks!!!!!

Mina, i'm with you with that camera idea. Let's go in together...we'll be billionaires!!!

Kimberly, very inspirational story! THANK YOU !!!
