Dina,
Yes Yes Yes it could be wrong. I started taking HPT about 8 days post transfer up until the day of blood work and they were ALL negative. I got my blood work and I was pregnant. Hang in there. They are not always true. It made me crazy, crying crying and crying. What good is that for the baby, not good. But I to had to do the HPT's. Drove my husband crazy. I really think HPT's are for natural pregnancy and there is nothing natural about IVF/FET so they should be banned for us.
Best of Luck and DO NOT lose hope. Please Please Please.....Keep us posted.

New to the board...4 days post transfer

Post by jenni_k »

Hello,
I'm new to the board. I am 4 days post transfer with 2 8-cells. I'm doing the progesterone shots 2 twice daily. So far I have slight cramping periodically and a egg white type discharge. Is this normal? I haven't had any bleeding or anything. This is my first IVF cycle after a year of trying. It turned out to be my husband's vasetomy reversal that was initially successful scarred over. This 2 week wait is stressing me out!!!

Hi jenni_K! Welcome to the board! I'm new to it too and decided to join during my 2ww because it's been the most stressful time of all. I'm about 3 days ahead of you and transferred 2 8 cells as well, along with 3 of lesser quality ( i think 6). I have had cramping the entire first week and still felt a little today, but not as bad. I hear the cramping is normal and that it's not an indication of your period or anything. As for the discharge, I haven't had that yet, but it could be a good thing. Hopefully someone with a success story knows. Keep active on the board because it really, really helps. Good luck with it all!

Hi girls new to your thread but wanted to chime in on Jenni K's discharge I am on my 3rd day post transfer and although have not had the discharge yet the doctor and nurse warned me that could happen and said it was absolutly nothing to worry about and specifcally said it was not the embryos! Hope that helps a little.

I'd like to second that contrary to what I daid earlier. I DID have that clear discharge, but somehow forgot about it (I wonder why). It's actually a good thing, I was told. It's just your body's homones and nothing to worry about.

Hello everyone!
Thanks for your responses. I can't believe how much having this support helps! :D Today it seems the cramping has subsided and the bloating and soreness from the retrieval last week is about gone as well. I have my first blood test on Friday 8/17. The nurse told me this won't confirm pregnancy; only checking hormone levels. My actual blood draw for pregnancy is scheduled for Monday 8/20. I can't really rely on any of my symptoms, clear/white discharge, slight cramps and sore boobs since I'm told the progesterone shots can also cause these symptoms. This waiting thing is really hard. Does anyone else feel like some days they are positive about the outcome and other days so negative?

Hi jenni-K! I couldn't be more with you! I am taking my blood test on the 20th, too, and just had my "levels" blood test yesterday. I have moments when I feel hopeful and moments of total doubt. All I need is for my body to do something different for mt to feel hopeful, like yesterday and today I am completely hormonal like never before. Cranky, tired, irritable, heavy, woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back to sleep, etc. I was so crampy the first week, but that subsided for the most part. Still no staining or anything , but feel slightly symptomatoc. Today I give my level of hope about a 7 on a scale of 1-10. What about you?

How's everyone else doing with this 2ww? Ups and downs, too?

Good to luck to everyone on here!

I am also in my 2 week wait, test due 20th Aug. ....this is my 5th attempt. The last one I had a chemical pregnancy which was lost at 5 weeks. I have a big problem though...on my last treatment I ended up addicted to HPT's and did approximately 14 in the 2 week wait! Although they came up positive I could see the line getting fainter each day. This time I said I wasn't going to get any HPT's...but I've failed...I've now done 3 in the last 2 days, all negative, but I know realistically its still too early to show anything.......please help me beat this annoying, expensive addiction. 2 weeks is such a long time to wait...lol

Mandy, that's too funny! I could see why you'd want to use those so much. This is a very trying time and to think that you could just know when you want to know is really tempting. I don't think I'd believe it no matter what it said or when I used it, so I avoid them. They've only said NO to me, so i actually hate them! You're cutting yourself short of the 2 week fantasy that you might be pregnant, if you think about it. You may get a yes or a no next week, but you'll never be able to enjoy the mystery of it all. I know that sounds silly, but I guess that's how I rationalize it. Has your doctor mentioned why s/he thinks it didn't work so many times? Also, do you think you'll just keep going after this if it doesn't work (but let's just think it will!). I wish you all the luck with this and hope you get some good news with me next Monday!

I've too tested and both were negative. It just upset me more and I know I shouldn't have done it as it may not be right. I too am still tempted to keep testing because now I figure that the HCG shot must be out of my system so if I get a positive then I must be pregnant. I'm so ridiculous right now!! I have had some minor cramping and a pulling feeling on my left side today. Of course I don't really know if I had any of these strange pains before because now I pay attention to every single nerve ending! Well I hope we all get good news on the 20th!!!!
