Eggheads hello...........

Rebecca- wonderful news hun!!!! So glad your sis did so well and with 12 eggies fertilising woooooo-hooooooooo...much love for your Et on saturday x x

anna- thank you so much for posting all the valuable info and sharing it with us...sounds like they hardly use any stimms at all for donors to get them eggies. I too was hoping for frosties( never had any ...ever  ) But looking positively we do not know until ET day if we will get any, AND would much rather have a BFP than frosties any day x x x ( am i greedy wanting both?????) Thanks again hun x x P.s. who was your doc over there @ IM?

Jen1d- so glad your scan went well. All looks good for ET being next week ( IM must have got the wks thing wrong). As for pessaries for BFP, ask your GP. Anna's GP was good to prescribe hers so i aaked my new GP. And she was good enough to say that she will prescribe them for the 12wks needed. if they won't do that you could ask for a private prescription frm your GP or last clinicn and pay that way. good luck x x x Did you get given an IM dvd when there and have you watched it yet? also who is your DOCagain?

Gill- is AF on her way yet hun???? If she's here do you then slap on a patch r have to wait until end of AF???Totally understand about asking IM. i am too just going to (try )and sit back and roll the roller coater and see where the ride takes me!!!! Getting to scan stage is so sson for you ( about 10 days by doc Monicas reconning from starting to use patches to et)...oh er...time will fly in for you. x x Have you watched your dvd of Im yet????

Baby blue- hey hun thanks for doing so well at updating the list with all your meds...approx birth date 11th July eh!!! A little cancerian in asttrogical terms if you are into all that. The cancerr sign is home of the housee and homebuddy!!! The 11th that was my last DP birthday too!!! So defo a lucky number x x I should start BC pills in approx 10 days time so we are so close in times for ET x x ohhh exciting x x

carolyn- Hun good on you for getting your head around all your questions/ answers needed. You sound more like your usual self. Is it helping you sort out emotions x x If so, glad that the book is helping so much. It does sound interesting...what one was that called?
as for telling the child about the anon of donor ...in my mind all we can say is at that time of conception ( year 2007) that knowledge wasn't privilidge to be given to us as it was illegal to do so. Hopefully our children will totally understand. Does that make sense??? or does that sound to harsh to you????
Did you get info about payment from my last post? ( here or awaiting i am lost)...anyway 5 wks Hun to go.... Hope we can go at same time.... You for 1st appointment & me for ET !!!! Wow wouldn't that be fun to catch up as real people not cyberly... in the sun... then i can tell the others if you are posh or not!!!! haha!!!

Poochie - how are ya doing hun???? Any news on HH and IVI contact?
Is IVI the clinic Cla was talking about????

I am back at work today and totally knackered tonight but so glad to be out of the 10days of illness rut...it was really getting me down. DH and i were having a deep discussion about all the tmt last night. We watched a dvd given to us by IM about all the differant techniques they may do to get viable embies. They talk about treating all the embies (each one) as a mini patient and will do what they can to give it the best life. Amazing stuff defragmatising is to watch. They also show THE DR Oliviers ( a george clooney look alike) giving a ET. Anyway it was very special to have thata time with DH and talk through loads of stuff. Feel so much better about it all today...

Much love to ya all

Hi All

Rebecca- WOW 12 fertilised!!! thats fantastic so happy for you. Glad your sister recovered well.

Kim- I finished taking the bc pills today, so now Im just waiting for af to arrive so I can start on the patches. You tmt wont be long now, It must be great having all your dates worked out , I havent got a clue!

Carolyn- If we get a bfp we will tell the child from a very early age about the donor stuff, that way they will grow up with it and it will never be a big deal. When we went for our adoption sessions they recommend you tell the child from a very early age that they are adopted I think our situation with double donation is very similar. Its the anonymous bit that Im worried about , that the child will never be able to find out any more information about the donors, but we will cross that bridge if and when we get to it.
Hope you have a great night out with your friend tonight . Please keep us updated with the books they sound very interesting.

Anna- Please, please keep posting your answers and info here, it is so helpful and interesting reading about your tmt, and Im so crap at thinking of things to ask . Hope matthew is well. x

Jen 1- Glad your scan went well and everything looked fine . I will email you later. I took the last pill today so just waiting for af to come so I can put a patch on.
Hope dh has had a lovely day and a Happy Birthday.

Jen B- I worry about the amount of eggs we will get I have set my heart on getting some frosties too, but as they dont seem to stimulate their donors much we will just have to wait and see ( I just hope to god we get at least 3 good ones to put back). Well last pill was taken today so just waiting now for af to show and start patches.
Yes I have watched dvd from start to finish, its amazing what they can do these days!Glad you and dh have had time to talk about tmt and that you are feeling better about it all.

Taken last BC pill so now just waiting for af to arrive, hope she's not too long, but to be honest its all going so quickly now maybe a few days delay wouldnt be so bad. I think Im getting scared about it all now

Take care
lots of love
Gill xxx

Hey ladies,

Have to share an accomplishment with you. I have been on Weight Watchers (online and attending meetings) for the last 18 weeks. I weighed in last night and I have lost another 2.4 pounds (1.09 Kg) this week. That is a total of 18.4 pounds (8.4 Kg) since I started. I was bound and determined I was going to lose the IVF cycle weight I had picked up from the last two cycles and I am .6 pound (.3 Kg) away. I really want to lose another 15 or 20 pounds (6.8 or 9.1 Kg) in case I get pregnant. Jen1, I know what you mean about the weight. But I didn't want to endanger my health to lose (ie., diet pills, etc.) I tried converting for my metric friends. Hope I did it right.

Carolyn, one book in one night and it wasn't a romance novel!!! Wow, it must be good stuff. Let me know the title and author. Sounds like 2ww reading material.

Rebecca and Jen1 - starting Saturday and Monday, you two will be on your 2ww. Big Plans? You know, fluffy pillow or flat; soaps or home improvement shows; sofa or bed. They do have you off your feet for the 1st week, right? I will be sending plenty of sticky, super-charged baby dust your way.

Gill - do you have a set day for your ET?

JenB - you mentioned to Anna about stimms for ED. My ED is expected to use only 1/2 of the stimms that I had to have. Guess when you get older just takes a lot more to get your motor running.

Jen1 - the nurse at my ER Dr. told me that the reason they didn't order any meds beyond the 2ww is because the majority (most) of the women after they have a positive pregnancy test, their insurance will cover 100% of their meds at that point. Not sure if this is the case in Scotland.

SBDD - Sticky Baby Dust Dance to all of you!!!! ImageImageImageImage

Just checking in and wanted to say hello!

Had the best night's sleep of my life last night - I think all the anxiety of the last few weeks/months had been on my shoulders and our good news helped me to relax for the first time in ages - didn't even have any wine!

Kim, congrats on the weight loss - that's amazing, well done!! I can't imagine trying to go through that at the same time as everything else.

My clinic recommends 36 hours in bed only getting up for the bathroom - no showers!! I'm then back at work on Monday but have promised myself I am going to try and take it easy.

Jen, I would take the holiday after the ET - it's a perfect excuse to do nothing but look after yourself! I'm lucky that I didn't need to travel for the whole thing - I can imagine how hard it is coordinating everything. Having said that my sister did have to travel 8000 miles to do her bit, bless her! Sending you all the luck in teh world for next week.

Gill, sending you the AF dance; amazing that for years we dread her arrival then we can't wait for it to come!

On the whole telling the child topic - we will also tell our child (praying that we get that far) of their DNA routes. I have worried myself stupid about whether they will then look at their Aunty in a different light but I also think if it's done in the right way and at an early age then it's not such a big deal. I read this email on another forum about how a women told her child about his start in life - she told him how much his mummy wanted a child and spend many years crying when she thought she couldn't have one. She told him that the reason she couldn't have one was because all her eggs were broken and like a cake, you couldn't make it properly if you did have the right ingredients. Then one day a lovely angel gave her some of her eggs and she then had all the ingredients to make her baby. I thought it was a lovely story and I wrote it down as it will be an easy way of telling a child and making it understandable. My sister told me that all kids want to know that they came from mummy's tummy and that usually is enough!

All is going ok on my side, my progesterone shots are an absolute killer but bearable in teh whole scheme of things. My nurse drew two circles in black marker pen on my hips so my DH would get teh shot in teh right place. I was allergic to teh delestrogen and so on top of the big black circles I have a big red rash. This together with my bruised tummy from the Lupron shots and the Patches on my stomach make me look super sexy!!

Must run as I'm supposed to be in a meeting.

Sending lots of love to all

Rebecca

Hope you weren't too late for your meeting x x About resting afterwards at my ivfs i rested for 3 days in bed both times and was going nuts about thinking all the time. This time we will be in a differant country so only a day in bed and resting before some exploting and flight home. Will rest as much as possible when we get back. i Hope to be able to shift some cllients around and therefor not loose too many holidays x x

Anna – your info is so helpful. Please please keep posting it here for all of us. It is so good to know how it was for you

Rebecca – glad that you slept so well. Must be the relief as you said. Loved the story. What a beautiful way to tell your child. I may cut and paste it too and keep (hopefully) for the future. Not long now til your ET – you must be so excited. Your sister, coming all that way, has done a very special thing for you

Jen1d – so sorry that they are keeping you waiting babe. So hope that they call/mail soon and you get good news must be agony. Really hope that the lady has done well for you. Remember that it is quality rather than quantity that is going to count this time

JB – glad that you feel well enough to go back to work. Can I ask what you do? Hope that I get the dvd to watch – especially with the George look alike! I have heard that he is McDreamy!!!! Would be amazing if we were in Barcelona at the same time. We will be out there 18th and back 19th. We are also thinking about turning ET into a holiday. Either some days before and/or some days afterwards. We have not had a holiday so would be nice. I also figure that it might pass some of the 2ww. Depends on timing and whether we can both get time off work. I also feel relieved that my sarcoidosis and infertility issues will not be on passed. That is the +ve side of donation.

Vicki – how are you doing with the waiting? As everyone knows I am filling the time with work and reading!

Gill – hope that AF is here for you. I am jigging for you. Understand so well being excited and nervous all at the same time

Kim – great news on the weight loss. That is such a terrific achievement and a boast to your self esteem. I would so like to lose some before tmt but somehow it just does not seem to be happening for me

So went out last night. Thai food. With a girl that I used to work with. She had 3 tries with her own eggs but responded badly. She has had 2 tries with her younger sisters eggs – m/c 1st attempt and m/c twins (boy and girl) at 2nd try. She is now just about to start a frozen cycle with her sisters eggs. Hard hard yards. So hope that it will work for her this time. Good to talk to an actual person going through it especially when we are such good mates anyway. Surreal. But it was a night away from my books

I have almost finished "Experiences of Donor Conception Parents, Offspring and Donors Through the Years" Eric Blyth; Paperback. Pretty good. Wait til I have read some of the others at the weekend and then I can tell you the best. JB will check out the ones that you recommend too. Just meant to be working

Really interested to read all your responses around telling the child etc. We will start very young so that it becomes part of the little persons story and not some dramatic event. That seems best based on most of the research. Outside of close friends then I will just refer to this as ivf 5. Don’t want any child to think that we have posted it on a notice board! Other than here of course but that is different

Almost the weekend. Hope that you are all doing well.

Love
Carolyn

:? Hi

Well still not any further forward.

Dr Rotondo called and we had a good chat. She said the donor is not ready yet but is pleased my lining is responding to the patches and to keep taking them. She said once the donor has her next scan, she doesnt know when yet, then she will call me if she is ready for EC. When she has EC then we will fly over and have ET 2 days later. She is guessing but said its likely it will be next week but cant say when?????????????
Forgot to ask, what if the eggs dont fertilize?

I also asked about the medications after the test. They provide medi for 10 days after ET then we can discuss when we are over there how we want to get more. She said lots of ladies dont buy any at that point just incase of a bfn, but she is prepared to let us buy the medi, get a prescription or get it in our country.

Speak later, have to pop out

Hi Jen

You are further forward as at least they spoke to you. :D

They sound positive about your lining and they must be taking care to stimmie your lady very carefully. That will mean it takes a bit longer but hopefully good quality eggs at the end of it.

Sounds to me like they will scan her again on say Monday. See how the follies are. So lets say trigger Monday evening. Tuesday rest day. Wednesday EC and then you would be having ET by next Friday. What do I know but just thinking what it has been like when we have gone through the process here and roughly how the timings work out. Does that make sense?

Sure that they will fertilise. Zero fert rate will be highly unlikely especially with young eggs. Understand they look to use proven donors when we are travelling from the UK.

Sounds like you should be able to get the meds over here. Will your gp arrange? Not sure that I would want to tempt fate by buying meds up front for a BFP.

I am sure that it is going to work out for you. Sure that the waiting is sheer agony. Do you have to have another scan or are they happy with your lining?

Hang in there babe. Sorry it is taking so long but it is the end result that counts.

Love and hugs
Carolyn
