Hey everyone. It's such a nice day today. The sun is out and it's just so beautiful. I am trying my best to enjoy the rest of my summer vacation before I have to go back to work in two weeks.

How's everyone doing? Hope you all are hanging in there alright.

Hi chriss, yes I am starting stimming this friday night. So excited...yet a little worried...worried that things don't turn out right, you know? I guess will have to see. I also worry how I will look physically once I start the stimms. I don't want people to ask if I am pregnant, seeing that I am so bloated and all. actually, how bloated do we usually get while on the stimms, really?

Have a good day.

Hi Lala,

On my first IVF, I was actually wearing sweat pants because I could not button my jeans. It lasted for about 2 days. Luckily, I had taken time off so I just wore the sweats. We go through so much! :) I plan to take time off again after retreival and transfer.

How long is everyone planning to take off from work?

Yay, Chriss! Keep 'em growing! It only takes one. :D

Lala, luckily with the whole empire waist shirt trend, everybody thinks everybody's pregnant anyway. Just invest in a couple flowy shirts.

Lupron tomorrow!

Julieboo, you are right, empire waists are in. I've avoided them because I'm tired of people wondering about me all the time, but now I kinda don't care. I bought a few.

hellokitty, I am off from school until the day after labor day. So my transfer will be about a week before I go back. I am nervous to go back to school because of all of the stress in the beginning of the school year. At least I will have one week to let things settle a bit.

lala, I am stimming right now and I don't feel that bloated. I put on a few pounds this year while TTC, (stress?) so I always feel like I am hiding the belly. Everyone around me is always wondering what is going on with me. It's tough, especially at work where everyone and their mother is pregnant. I like julieboo's advice about the empire waists. I bought a couple of dresses that are fairly loose. I am concerned about what's going to happen after the transfer.

Have a great day everyone. -chriss

Chriss, any updates on the follies?

I am totally investing in some larger shirts for my back to school uniform. Worst case, it hides my stim belly (if there is one. I didn't really have one last time, and I had a lot of follicles). Best case, it hides my early pregnancy belly.

Had my first Lupron shot today. Didn't even feel it! And thus it begins again. Now it's time to wait for AF.

Best to everyone!

Good Morning Ladies,

Julieboo - yay for sailing through your first lupron shot! I never feel those or the stimming meds. Now the PIO are another thing. I read somewhere on the board where you can get a numbing prescription to help with the PIO injections. I will be asking this time around. My bottom looked like someone played tic tac toe on it :D !!!!

chriss - That's great that you will have time off before school. I hoping to have my time covered by STD versus using my vacation time. I have several of those shirts too just in case I stay bloated longer this time. My re doubled my stimming meds. I got 21 eggies the first time.

Lala - I'm a little worried about my response this time around because of last time. I am tryin to focus on getting that PMA going but it does get tough. Talking to you ladies always makes it easier :D !

meggs1012 - how did the appointment go?

Have a great morning everyone and baby dust to all!!

julieboo, glad the lupron shot went well. Well now I have three good follies and a few smaller ones that may still have time to grow. the minimum at my dr's is three so I'm still in. They are not surprised by my reaction because of my age. They say they don't really expect more than 6 usually fo someone who is 40.YIKES! If I need to do another cycle, they will increase my meds.

hellokitty, 21 eggs sounds very promising.

Bye girls, -chriss

starting stims tomorrow...

Post by KathleenP »

Hi Ladies, I hope you don't mind if I join you. I'm doing IVF for the first time and could use the extra support and advice. I have been trying to conceive for 3 years. Last summer I became pregnant naturally, but had a m/c at 4wks. After I went off bc when we got married I found out I had a hypothyroid. It took over a year to get that sorted, but I get it checked monthly now because if it's not regulated it can cause miscarriages. I also have PCOS which causes me not to ovulate as often as I should.
I have been on Lupron for over a week and tomorrow I go for blood work and a ultrasound. I should start my stims tomorrow night. I'm looking at ER the wk of Aug 27th. I'm hoping to get everything done before I go back to teaching Kindergarten in September. On the brightside, if all goes as planned I'll be too busy at work to worry during the 2ww.
Well good luck to you all and lots of baby dust your way!
Kathleen

Thank you ladies for giving me such great support and advice. I will go get some empire waist shirts this afternoon. CHEERS for the belly!!!

Kathleen Welcome welcome. I think you and I are in a very similar time frame. I am going in for the ultrasound tomorrow and am starting the stimms tommorrow night. My est. ER is also during the last week of August. Let's support each other through this ordeal, should we?

chriss Good to hear that your follies are making good progress. Keep smiling and keep them growing, ok?

Julieboo Congrats on your getting through that first Lupron shot. That's always the hardest. But you did it!

hellokitty I am glad to hear that you can take some time off after ER. You will need it if you can afford it. I am only planning on taking a day off on ER and on implantation. But I think I will do everything I can to take things easy the day after these procedures.

Hi Meggs and Mina, how are you guys doing?

Have a great day!

Is it too late for me to join this thread? I fall into the catagory of August/ September cycle. I start my stimming meds on Monday and am scheduled for ER the week of 8/27 with ET 3-5 days later.

It will be good to go through this with other women who are having similar experiences. This is my first IVF cycle and I am hopeful it will be my last as well :D

Good luck to you all.

Welcome to the new people, I joined not that long ago myself. Here's a question for anyone...I've been on the stims for 8 days and I just got a huge glob of fertile cervical mucus. Should I be worried? Did I accidentally ovulate? Has this happened to anyone else? Sorry for the details, but I'm a little confused.

Hi Ladies,

chriss - My RE told me before that it was absolutely normal and highly unlikely that I had ovulated. But I suggest that you talk to your RE too.

Hellokitty, Lupron is like nothing. So easy. And no bad moods...yet. I am so glad my doctor has switched over to the progesterone suppositories. Way more fun than that gynormous needle.

Chriss, I'm glad to hear about your follies. What's your ETA on EC?

Hi, Kathleen! Welcome aboard! I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. When you got pregnant before, were you taking anything to offset the PCOS? Good luck you to you! You know those little kiddies will totally help keep your mind off the 2ww.

Hey, how many of us are teachers (or school personnel?) I think going back to school right now is a good thing. Helps keep the mind off the baby stuff. Hopefully my students will be cooperative and will let their teacher rest in her desk chair while she's stimming.

Thanks, lala! How are things going for you?

Hi, Kelly! Welcome! Best of luck to you!

Have a great evening!

Hey,

Sigh! I am so mad at myself. For some reason, I completely forgot to stop taking BCPs on August 14th. So, when I went in for my blood test today, they told me that I will have to delay my stimms. until aug 22 :( I am so bummed!!! Fortunately, they said it won't affect the outcome of the cycle at all. All it affects is the timeline. sigh... Anyways, I am feeling a little down. TTYL.
