Kimberly--I lost my plug a little bit at a time, and it happened a couple of weeks before I delivered. My doc didn't worry about it, as I wasn't dilated much at the time. Just take it easy. Rest as much as possible!

Laura--Sorry to hear about the trip. I've read it can take 2-3 days for babies to adjust after a trip, so just be patient. I hope your relatives can help you out while you're there!

The babies ALMOST went 7 hours between feeds last night! Wahoo! OH, I hope we can get another one of those nights again....of course, I didn't go to bed right when the kids did, so I only got about 5 hours of sleep. But, still it's the longest I've slept in months! We had our 2 month check up today. Ellie weighs 10 pounds 8 oz and Braeden weighs 9 pounds 11 oz. I swear he weighs less than his sister because he's always wiggling! We had to deal with vaccinations too. ellie seems to be taking it harder than Braeden. She's still fussing about it, and the appt was over 3 hours ago. Poor thing....

I'm going to try to post pics to the bucket soon!

:D  :D  Twenty Four Weeks and One Day :D  :D

Hi guys,

I really need your reassurance today. I am 24 weeks and the babies are viable for the first time - but instead of feeling happy I am feeling really anxious.

The last few days my stomach has been going hard off and on - mainly in the evenings when I have been moving alot doing house work etc. And last night it was doing it in bed I just couldn't relax. I honnestly don't think it is anything bad I think its just the babies moving and growing and my womb practicing. But I just can't chill out today.

Please tell me this happened to you.

I am small so I think I can feel everything alot more than I would if I was bigger - and I have grow so much in the last couple of weeks - my skin is very taut and itchy and I feel so hot which doesn't help.

I think getting to this fantastic milestone after all those years of hope and dispair on the infertility treadmill had caught up with me. All that painic, fear and loss.

Also I read that one of the other girls on my other thread had lost her baby at 18 weeks and I think this re opened all those worry wounds. Can't wait till I get to 34 weeks at least and can start feeling safer.

Also we have still got students until this weekend and we haven't been able to get the babies room ready which I don't think helps - cos I am the type that has to be orginised.

Anything you can say about how you went through a period of panic and came out the other side right now would really help. And if you experienced early braxton hicks of and on.

Love Paquita xxx

PS the babies are kicking loads which is the best feeling xxx

Good morning everyone!

Paquita~
Don't worry at all, really! If I can recall correctly, we are about the same size and I think we do feel things a bit more because of the lack of space. Being short and small is a double whammy! After seeing and feeling other pg stomachs I must say that my tummy is the hardest one I have ever felt and EVERYONE comments on how hard it is. I even made an OB appointment one time to make sure things were alright with this. :? My OB let me know it's very normal in petite women especially with ab muscles which were the only muscles I was given naturally.
Also, I have had BH contractions since the third month! They haven't caused any dialation so they are fine but I have had some really strong ones as well and nothing has changed. Just make note of them with your OB and don't worry. It will probably only get more intense for you but there is nothing abnormal about anything you are experiencing. Take care!

Kim~
WHOOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!! A 7 hour stretch of sleep! Getting 5 yourself is pretty good. Did they repeat the wonderful pattern last night? Hope so for your sake! By the way. . . they are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Oh my goodness! I love the photos of them and they both look like angels when they are fast asleep. Makes me so excited to see photos of boy/girl twins! Can't wait to see my own! Congrats on such a great night and beautiful little ones!
I hope the shots didn't make them too upset!

I have a stress test this morning and an OB appoiment later today wo we will see how things are going. I'm expecting to have an actual vaginal exam today and I must tell you that mainentance of that area is so hard now days!!!!!  Sorry if TMI! Is it just me or can no one else even see what they are doing? I'm about to break down and pay for a stranger to take care of business. After all, it's too mortifying to pay someone I DO know!

Hope all is well and I'll report back later!
Take care everyone!

Quata I read about that girl too on a another thread and I even think I caught a one or two pics of her premature baby, man did I freaked out , big time. MY heart went out for that girl, it is a true tragedy, but we all are different, health, care , etc it doesn't mean it has to happen happen to us You have to use positive thinking, G-d gives G-d takes, but you got that far, 24 weeks wow, so try not to worry ( easy say lol I know ) and start to enjoy those kicks:) Maybe this will help, whenever I feel bad or scared about my pregnancy, I usually try to think positive right away, --everything will be ok:) step by step, milestone by milestone.

Kimberly, how are you feeling? What did doctor say?

Hi all

Just thought I would check in to see how everyone is ging :D

Kholtan - you are getting very close now - can't wait to see what you have. I hope the rest of your journey is trouble free. Have you finished your nursey yet?

Lauralou - you are brave travelling so far! I am afraid, knowing my munchkins, I would not dare!

Buckeyegal - WOW 7 hours - I wish! That is really great what are you doing to achieve that?

My two - Harry is now 11lb 12oz and Bronte is 10lb. They both had their immunisation shots two days ago and we are still recovering! Harry is throwing up but not after every feed - at least half his bottle. Bronte is a little off her feeds and both are fussy. At least it has not affected their night sleep.

The babies are now feeding 4 hourly which makes it a bit easier. They still only sleep 1 to 3 hours during the day and at night they manage 4 hours. I can't wait for them to sleep through! 6 or 7 hours straight would be great!

Harry has to be on his special formula for one year we were told last week. Thank goodness we can get it on a prescription otherwise it would cost us $70 per 400gm tin!

I still have not used my cloth nappies as yet  Don't know when I will at this stage.

I have dropped my uni subject this semester as the babies just take up all my time. I will manage my studies a little better next semester and organise some childcare so I can study. I am sooo relieved that I did it after much procrastinating.

I will post some new pics in the next day or too and will let you know when I do.

Cheers to all

Placenta previa with twins?

Post by marika76 »

Has anyone had placenta previa with twins? I am 28 weeks pregnant and I have had bleeding twice. My doctor says it is from placenta previa??? Any comments are great! Thanks, Marika

marika--Sorry hon. I didn't experience previa. good luck to you! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure your doctor is going to take very good care of you. You've made it so far already!

Di--Wow, your babies are great size! Our twins are the same age, but yours are bigger than mine! :) How much are they eating at a feeding? As for our nights, we're not ALWAYS getting those long stretches. In fact, we just got back from a trip to Lake Erie again. We had a couple of rough nights, so now that we're back, we're hoping to get those good nights again. Their pediatrician (and the book BABYWISE) really recommends feeding them every 3 hours during the day. The thinking is, that if they can get really full tummies during the day, they won't need to wake up as often at night. I have to say, I believe in this theory because it seems to be working for us. Ellie and Braeden have been eating around 4 or sometimes 5 ounces at a feeding. We're getting at least 6 good feeds during a 24 hour period. It is a pain to sometimes wake them to feed every 3 hours during the day, but I think it's worth it. But again, kudos to you for beefing those babies up! Oh, I feel your pain about the immunizations. My two were soooo sleepy for two days following their shots. :?

Kimberly--YOu make me laugh...maintenance of that area will be a little tricky after the babies are here too! ha ah! YOu'll be too tired to "maintain"! Well, at least I am!

Quita--I hope you're feeling better. Just keep thinking positive thoughts...it's sooo important right now!

Well, gals, I'm off. I have to wake the babes for one more feeding before going down for the night. I pray for 7 plus hours!

Hi all

Buckeyegal, yes the babies are a good size especially Harry! He is drinknig at least 6oz per feeding - try and feed him less and see what happens! He is very collicky and we are at our wits end on how to deal with him - we had a horrible day with him yesterday - one of many unfortunately :( He seems to settle with me better and is better with me during the week although I do have the odd horrible day when he or both play up. He won't settle for DH and he has to get me to take over! I hope this settles fast. Lucky Bronte is OK as I don't know what I would do with two like Harry. During the night they are not too bad - they don't seem to be unsettled then thank goodness. Taking the babies out of routine is always unsettling. It puts the rest of the day out so I try not to distrub their routine anymore - it is not worth it!

Hope evryone else is doing great and has anyone heard from EM? I wonder how she is going - I suspect very busy!

Take care

Hi everyone,

We also got pregnant with twins after our 1st IVF treatment! We were soooo shocked! But we have been blessed. I had some bleeding that kept me on bed rest during my 1st trimester, but I didn't have any morning sickness at all. I'm now 31 weeks and have been on moderate bed rest since my 30th week just to make sure my two little angels stay in the oven at least until the 35th week :D
They are both now in position (cephallic) and as of my last scan (a little over 2 weks ago) they were about 2.5 lbs each with plenty of fluid :) Hopefully by the time I have my next scan on 8/31 they will be about 3.5 lbs!
I love feeling them moving and kicking which is all day long now pretty much, it's a feeling of happiness I cannot express! Even when they hit my ribs, diaphragm or my bladder (which is constantly since my boy is using it as a pillow, LOL) - there is no pain that will make this pregnancy not worth it!

Unfortunately I have become anemic due to the pregnancy and I'm not responding to oral iron supplements at all so I'm beginning a 5-day round of IV Iron at the hospital on Tuesday to bring my iron levels up - has anyone else had this problem???

Kimbley Thanks I do feel better now thanks and I do think you are right about our small sizes. I am still the same everywhere (including boobs unfortuanatly) apart for my tummy that has grown another 2lb this week.

I am already having to do my bikini line by brail!

Malinka Thankyou those photos were so scary weren't they. The whole think totally freaked me out and everybody else it seems as I have noticed no one had writen anything on that thread for a week. My contrations have settled down a lot and my mind is more positive now - sure the two things are linked.

Kim Thank you for thinking of me honey. Loving all your news xxx

Di--Saw the pics! They're gorgeous!

Ellie's now eating about 6 oz. a feeding. That just happened yesterday. She will be very demanding until she gets every last drop! Braeden is more of a "social eater". We're going to have to force feed that kid, I swear!

gotta run!

Hi all

I was wondering the same thing about Kimberly - she has been away for a while. Hope all is well with her.

My two seem to now have reflux :( I have to ring their doc today to find out. Harry has been a nightmare the last two weeks so it would be good to put a name to it. He is spending most of his waking time either fussing or really crying. Sigh........ If it is reflux then at least we can do something about it and he will start to feel better.

Hope everyone else is well.
