Carolyn, you are a sweetie. The way you ladies keep talking about Dr. McDreamy - I'm gonna try to get a video and I'm not going to Barcelona.

Jen1, hope you hear something REALLY quick from your Dr. Let us know as soon as you hear.

Gill, darn AF!! Never when we need her. Hope she shows up soon.

Rebecca - so funny about the circles on your hips. My nurse did the same thing for DH; however, DH decided to send a note back and wrote Bama Stinks! on my right hip (our nurse is an Alabama football fan big time). She rolled in the floor laughing my next scan. I got a chuckle too, but I felt like a post-it note.

Just got a call from the Pharmasist and they just placed the order for my donor's meds. Woo hoo!! They said she was to start the meds on the 27th. Two weeks and we are starting. I hate to say we, because I know she is the one taking all the shots at this point, but they will soon be our embies.

Well, getting ready to leave work for the day and go home and fix and clean. DH's best friend (and family) is coming to stay with us this weekend, so I want everything to be in tip top shape. She doesn't cook or do much of the domestic stuff so I love to host because I get all this praise for dinner and the house. Only time I get to feel like a domestic godess.

Sending all my love and baby dust,
Kim

Hi Fellow Eggheads :D

Jen1- Glad you got to speak to a doctor today :D , Im sure it helped put your mind at rest knowing everything is going well. So close now hun  all you need now is a date so that you can book the flight and hotel and you'll be sorted
I am going to go to my gp tomorrow and ask them if they will prescribe the meds, if they wont on nhs I will ask if they will do a private prescription(more money!) Hope you are not getting too stressed, thinking of you x

JenB- Thanks hun, I slept much better last night, sorry you are having trouble now too! :(
I started the BC pills on day one of my af. I had an email off the acu lady last night she will be happy to see us but said she wont be there from the 8-11th September so I just hope our et will be before then :? .
Hope you are taking it easy and not working too hard now your back in work, you have got a very busy time coming up with the ivf then the bfp and then the being a mummy! Hope you have a better night sleep tonight.x :D

Carolyn- Glad you had a great time last night with your friend, Im sure it was really refreshing talking to someone who understands what your going through :D . Thanks for jigging for me hun,no sign yet but its only the first day without the pill!! so hopefully by saturday she'll be here. The books sound really interesting, keep up the good work  The acu lady emailed me and shell be happy to see me but wont be there from the 8-11th september! :? I have set my heart on having it done now so I just hope that out et will be before then. Thanks for letting me know about her.x :D

Kim- Well done on losing the weight :D you've done so well you put me to shame  . Fantastic news on getting the dates for getting started, it wont be long now :D We dont have a date on our et yet but I am hoping it will be the first week in September.

Rebecca- Glad you had a good night sleep and that you are able to relax now :D I loved your story about the cake it was such a lovely way to tell a child, I will have to remember it incase we get a bfp!

I hope everyone is ok, I know it a really stresfull time for everyone of us going or going to be going through tmt. I just cant get my head around how fast our tmt is going, from being on a waiting list in this country for over two years and getting nowhere fast to emailing the IM in April and hopefully having ET in September!! its nutts :?
I am a worrier, I worry about everything! and I am all ready worrying about worrying during the 2ww!! :? Its so silly but I just cant help it, I am going to have to start taking my rescue remedie at regular intervals I think or have it by IV drip lol  But knowing you lot are all going through it too helps so much and the girls going to the IM are making it so much easier for me. I cant thank you all enough for your support :D Right thats enough sloppy stuff

Take care fellow eggheads
Lots of love

Oh Gill
I am sorry hun that i missed your earlier post. We posted at the same time and i have only just read your post. Hope you didn't think i was in a huff with you or something????  lol

What you were saying about it all coming so fast to you now you are near ET is true. In feb i had filled in all the forms to ISIDA in Kiev, but after wedding In March we changed to IM in Spain. ( basically cos the flight across time zones set off my MS :? ) So althoough it all ticks along at my stage it dos feel like a roller coaster at yours and Jen1's stage. Suddenly it's so REAL....Please hun feel free to sound off anytime on here on at my email for some support. Rescue rem is so good. and acu before Spain could be helpful too. caan you manage to get a couple of sessions at the moment from anyone practising near to you? Even for stresss release. Carolyn is so right it really does help balance out chi and emotions.
Good news that you are sleeping better, hope tonight brings sweet dreams like last night.

I have had a lovely long bath and been reading my ( humorous book for some light relief)...as well, as supporting poor DH cos he's having a crap time at work with stress at the mo. Anyways ((((HUGS )))) to ya hun...keep the Faith  :D :D

Big hi to everyone else...

love jen

Kim – going to make sure that I get a copy of the video/dvd and then I can send it over to you!!! Do you watch Grey’s Anatomy? It is like my favourite programme right now. Great that the donor meds have been order. Sounds like everything is under way. Love the bit about domestic godess. I am not very good at all that stuff so can appreciate how your friend feels. Hope that you have a great time and some nice food too!

Anna – hope that you & Matthew have a lovely weekend

Rebecca – wishing you all the luck in the world for ET tomorrow. Do you have any news on how your embies are doing? Presume that you are hoping to go to blast given that it is about 5 days since collection. Fingers crossed. Take it easy when they are on board and let your dh spoil you to bits

Vicki – hope that you are doing ok with the waiting. Have a nice weekend

Jen1d – you are getting so close. Can understand that it must be frustrating for you but hope that they are getting the donor just right and she is going to have some great embies. Try to chill out rather than getting too stressed – I know I am a right one to talk. Sure that your gp will be able to help you with meds. Hope that you hear good news soon and can get all the flights/hotel sorted out babe. Hang in there

Gill – glad that acu lady has been in touch. Hope that the dates work for you. Less of the sloppy stuff – nearly choked up and I am at work! Think that we are all really glad that we met each other. It makes a huge difference to know that there are people in the same boat as you. Jigging for you

JB – have a great time at the wedding tomorrow. And enjoy the visit of your friend too. Glad that you are on the ac band wagon. Bet they don’t call you a nag!!!!

Well at least it is Friday. I had a blub last night with dh about my weight and how that adds insult to injury with all the –ves. He was so sweet. Hugging me and telling me that I am not fat. Then I watched Greys Anatomy which always cheers me up! Then read the end of the 1st book. It was a little negative towards the end with some children feeling not so great about the fact that they cannot find their genetic parent (s) so I am not sure that I would recommend. Not as uplifting as it could have been but very informative. Looking to read book 2 in the garden tomorrow if the sun shines and when dh is on the golf course. Will keep you posted.

Hope that you all enjoy the weekend. Thanks to you all for being such brilliant support.

Much love
Carolyn

Hi Eggheads

Hope that you are all having a good weekend.

My laptop has given up the ghost. Talk it to pc world and have to call some helpline and get someone to collect on Monday so sense that my posting will be more limited. Now on Dh's PC and only likely to get limited access!!!

Just wanted to say that really hope that ET goes really well today for Rebecca.

Jen1d - so hope that your donor is doing well and that you will hear very soon

Gill - hope that AF is here

Hugs to everyone else.

I am most of the way through my 2nd book and think that I prefer to 1st that I read. It poses a lot of questions but I consider it to be more supportive. I have been reading most of the day especially with my oc out of action.

Anyway, hope that you all enjoy the weekend.

A month tomorrow is my appointment at Big B. Pleased that it is now almost within a months time. Feels like the clock is ticking down for me!!!

I will talk more when I can and let you know when my pc is well again!

Lots of Love
Carolyn

Hi :D

JenB- I would never think you were in a huff with me
I cant find anyone around here who does acu for ivf so I will just stick with the two sessions in big b( if the lady isnt away :? ). I have been sleeping better these last couple of nights but I know things will change the closer we get to et! How are you sleeping at the moment?
Hope you have been having a great time with your friend and that you had a fab time at the wedding :D .

Carolyn- Sorry to hear your laptop is poorly :( We had someone from pc world pick ours up when it broke, I think we had it back 10 days later.
Your ticker is going down so quickly I cant believe its only a month to your appointment in Big B now! Glad you are enjoying book two, how many did you get was it 3? Hope you had a good weekend.

Jen1- Hope you are ok, Im sure you are feeling all kinds of emotions at the moment :? but it wont be long now. Are IM phoning you or emailing you? I hope you hear off them tomorrow. I didnt put my laptop on at all yesterday so I have only just got your email, I will email you in a bit.

Rebecca- Hope you are ok and et went smoothly. I will be thinking of you on your 2ww hope it goes quickly for you :D x

Well AF arrived yesterday so I put the patches on this morning, I will email IM later to let them know and wait and see what they say.
My sister and family are home for the next week so I wont be able to post as often, but I will be able to have a look and check up on you and I will try to post as often as I can.

Take care everyone, hope you have all had a lovely weekend :D

Lots of love

Hi Ladies

Hope that you are all having a good weekend. Well called the pc help line and he sorted me out over the phone. Something to do with the mother board (ironic really that the MOTHER board is not working - nearly said to him that sums me up!). Well it is working again now but very tempremental - agin like its owner!!! Could not cope with it away for 10 days (Gill - how on earth did you manage!???) as it is the one that I use at work. May be one of the guys at work will be able to sort it out for me??

Anyway................

Gill - glad AF has arrived on time and you are onto the patches. When will you get your scan done. Yep gp paid for our tests. Not my regular lady. Some locum who had looked at my file and looked petrified. Think that he was grateful to get away with just some blood tests!!! Hope that you don't get an awful headache

JB - hope that the wedding was lovely yesterday

Rebecca - let us know how ET went when you feel up to it. How many did you have transfered? Hope that you are resting well

Jen1d - hope that dh does not have too bad a hangover. Hope that you hear from IM tomorrow and will be there by the end of the week. Hang in there babe. So close. May be you should replace the patch - you want the lining to be tip top - or else ask them tomorrow may be. Sounds like a good excuse to call them

Vicki, Anna - hope that you are both having a nice weekend

Have now read 2 out of the 3 books that I bought. Other one not arrived yet

"Mommies, Daddies, Donors, Surrogates"
Diane Ehrensaft; Paperback; £11.39

That was the second one that I read and it was quite heavy but pretty good and quite supportive. A lot of stuff about when to tell and how to tell? Telling people in our support networks too.

The 1st book that I read was

"Experiences of Donor Conception Parents, Offspring and Donors Through the Years"
Eric Blyth; Paperback; £10.82

Lots of quotes from parents. Similiar stuff about whether to tell? When? How? But I found this a little -ve at the end as there were some stories of donor children some of which were quite negative.

Both books are very much in the camp of you should tell the child other than in the most extreme circumstances. Got both from the new/used section of Amazon and for less than 'real' price even after postage.

I am mailing both books to my Mum as she is struggling to help me and is obviously frustrated. I hope that they will help her understand why this route is not the easiest for us to travel and why it is hard to be happy all the time.

At a client for the next 5 days so will post when I can but may be limited. Crossing everything for Rebecca to get a BFP by the end of the week and Jen1d to get to Spain for her transfer.

Month today til Barcelona!

Lots of Love to you all
Carolyn

hello ladies,

thank you all so much for the well wishes. I'm in bed now and it's a bit tough to type as I'm supposed to be flat so forgive the short post. ET went so well, I am very lucky. 8 embies survived, 2 came home (both 4AA) and 6 have made it to the freezer (all 6 or 4's). Acupuncturre helped so much (as did the valium!). testing a week tomorrow!!!

love to you all XXX
