Heard Baby's heartbeat today

Post by bubblymichelle »

Hi Everyone

Just want to let you know that I have been to the GP today and everything is going ok. I did panic to be honest because they couldn't pick the heartbeat up at first and then they prodded my tummy and then I could hear it. I was so amazed I couldn't hear it. They confirm I am 16wks 1d pregnant and I am just so excited.
Midwife asked me if I wanted the AFP test done but myself and DH said that it wasn't worth having it done because all we would do is worry and at the end of the day we couldn't terminate it just wouldn't be right, just hope everything is OK.
Love
Shell.

Hi Shell,

It's so nice to hear the heartbeat isn't it? I had my 16-week appointment with the midwife on Friday (although I am 17 weeks today) and I asked her to let me hear the heartbeat, which she did. I was so relieved to hear it!!!!
I keep feeling the odd flutter - especially when I sit down in the evenings - I'm sure it's the baby. It feels like someones tickling me on the inside. Can't wait until it starts kicking more!
Tracey - hope you get to hear the heart-beat on Friday - to me it sounded like galloping horses!!!

Enjoy,

Alison x

Congratulations Shell - must be a wonderful feeling - you can relax now for a while.

Where has 16 weeks gone? I remember your test day the clearest as you'd had that negative the day before and assumed that it would still be negative - it was so exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

lots of love, Jo. XXXXXX

To be honest girls I can't believe it either where the time as gone. The first 12 weeks was the longest then it seems to be flying by perhaps because I have relaxed a little, I had to because I was so uptight about everything and worrying myself sick that something would go wrong.
So when should I start to get the kicking, I do get flutters but I don't get them every day. But I do get like a noise which isn't wind I assure you but it comes from my belly, feels like my belly is groaning.
Love
Shell.
xx
