girls... i'm in heaven!!! all three of my boys are sleeping.... can this be real?? even my 6YO is napping... he was up with the storms very early this am... so he was tired!!

casy-good to hear that you are well, and DD is doing ok... my 3yo was a little rough too, he's getting better now, but i still keep a really close eye on him when he's by gavin... our word we used was gentle... we tired to show him how to be gentle with us and the cats so he learned how to be gentle with the baby...

rachael- good to hear from you... glad that they got things sellted with makayla..it seems that they are more pleasent, after the better sleeps... . i'm not ready for gavin to be on the move.... once school starts i think that i'll be more ok with it... Gavin sleep how ever too... but he always leaks out the side when he's on his side... i think it's the wee wee factor...it's pointing that way.. he's getting so so big... we are over the 14lbs...he's my biggest baby... he's chubby, but also just big all around..

kim- hope that your nights are better... we had a few of those (but only one baby) right before he started sleeping the6 hours.... maybe that will happen for you.. i know the feeling of loosing your mind ... there was a time that he had been screeming for 3 hours and nothing would make him stop...i just sat in the rocker and cried with him... i think he ended up tiring himself out... when do you go back to work?? our school starts 8/27.

nance-are you staying home with lily?? our first was a VERY slow eater too... he would take an hour to eat then an hour to burp... if he didn't burp he would projectile vomit... try using the next nipple up... i know that ours said 3 months for the next one... but we tried it early and it seemed to help a little.... so if she can handle the next size nipple, doesn't choke, i'd try it...

Bridgete- glad to have you... what is your little guys name?? what was his weight ect at birth?? now?? i stay home with my kids... i have a 6YO and a 3YO and gavin born 5/28 all BOYS....

tasha- hope that you are well... and aubrey is doing better at the sitter... is she napping better/??

i also have to say that Gavin is now sleeping 6 hours at night... i'm loving it... altho we've had storms every night or the other kids have been up... so i'm waiting for the 6 hours uninteruped sleep... maybe tonight... gavin went from up every 2 1/2-3 hours till one night at 6 hours. for a few days before that he was up screeming for hours not wanting anything.. not to feed, gas drops, changed, on tummy on back walking, swinging, nothing but screeming...then it was a sudden change, he went to bed (still awake) and no crying and slept 6 hours... i'm such a happier person... especially after the weeks of pure screeming for up to 5 hours...

other then that... he is doing great... we've done a few bottles of breastmilk, and he does ok with that...i'm only doing a bottle once or twice a week... just so he'll still take one, so i can get out every now and then (hasn't happened yet, but will soon)

well, i hope that everyone is well..... take care

Casy--I'm glad Joshua is settling in well! 4 hours already? That's great! Are you bfing? I can't remember if you said...

Colleen--Thanks for the encouragement. The fact that Gavin screamed before his longer stretches started gives me hope...I know our turn is coming soon! Ellie was fussy again last night for quite a while, so we'll see!

In fact...The babies ALMOST went 7 hours between feeds last night! Wahoo! OH, I hope we can get another one of those nights again....of course, I didn't go to bed right when the kids did, so I only got about 5 hours of sleep. But, still it's the longest I've slept in months! We had our 2 month check up today. Ellie weighs 10 pounds 8 oz and Braeden weighs 9 pounds 11 oz. I swear he weighs less than his sister because he's always wiggling! We had to deal with vaccinations too. ellie seems to be taking it harder than Braeden. She's still fussing about it, and the appt was over 3 hours ago. Poor thing....

I'm going to try to post pics to the bucket soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies.
Kim that is great that your dad can watch the kids for you while you work. Hopefully i got that right--you have twins right?
Racheal glad your docs finally were ablet to get your DD something that helped with the spitting up and she is feeling better. Poor girl i bet that was hard on both of you.
My son Cole was born 5/10. He weighed 7 pounds 6 oz and was 18.5 inces long. He had he his 2 month shots and was 14 pounds already--ugh. He is going to be a big boy. He is finally sleeping through the night 90% of the time--and takes 3 naps throughout the day. : )

Hello Girls-

Welcome Bridget.... we're so happy you joined us. This is a great group of girls... they helped me so much through my pregnancy!

Rachael- hello... it's been a really long time, but we're so glad your back. Sorry to hear you were having such a hard time with Makayla - however it's great to hear she is doing much better. Thankfully they finally did the test.... otherwise you'd still be wide awake... !

Kim- sorry to hear that the twins gave you such a hard time the other night... I give you so much credit for taking care of them both. I don't know how you do it... it hard enough at times and I just have one. Well sounds like your growing very nicely... that's great! Pam was just asking me today when you go back to work... Also I just looked at photobucket - and the twins are adorable.

Colleen- Aubrey is doing much better this week... she is actually at my Aunt's house this week - the one who will be watching her most of the time and she seems much better. However, we did have to switch her bottles again due to her having gas - so now we're using the Dr. Brown's Bottles.... they seem to be working. Plus I give her gas drops after every feeding to help her little tummy out. She is only having 1 poop a day and actually yesterday she didn't even have one - my DH is all worried. However, she is napping much better and still sleeping through most of the night.

Well Aubrey is doing very well.... I had to take her in to the doctor this past Saturday because she had a bad diaper rash due to her Thrush - she weighed in at 11lbs. 14oz. She has gained 1lb 2 oz. in 2 weeks... she eating isn't a problem for her. She has her 3 month checkup next weekend and then we're taking her for her 3 month pictures next Sunday. I'll make sure to post some new pictures of her very soon.... little chunky monkey!

Well I hope the rest of you are doing well... chat with you all soon.

Tasha--I'm glad the daycare situation is getting better for you. I actually took the twins to their sitter (when they're not with my dad) today. They did fine, but they didn't eat as much as usual. I'm not sure if they're still lethargic from their shots yesterday? We love the Dr. Brown's bottles too...totally helped Ellie with her spit up. However, I just heard today that there might be a problem with the chemicals the bottles are made of? Has anyone else heard this? Something about PBA or such? Argggh!

Oops...ellie's crying. gotta run!

Good Morning Girls...

I have not heard that about the bottles, but now you have me looking online to see if I can find anything. Darn - just when I find a bottle that works for Aubrey.....

hiya girls.. we are doing ok here

as for the bottles... i heard that there are several plastics that have a link to cancer... i know that avent was one of them, not sure about the dr browns.. i know that it was sippy cups and stuff too...even they said if you reuse water bottles .... i use the platex drop ins (which is only 1 or 2 times a week) so i did pay that much attention... sorry

gavin has not slept his 6 hours teh last 2 nights... he was up again every 2 1/2-3 hours.. and when he's up he's crying for an hour or more after the feed.... still not sure what his problem is... we do the gas drops after every feed also... they helped a little, now not really at all.... but afraid to stop them... i'm taking him in this week to get checked out.. just incase it's an ear infection... he keeps rubbing his ear and was in te pool a couiple of times... other then that he's doing great and still a huge chunk!! i love it... we are at 14lbs 8oz today...

sorry got to go... gavin is screeming.... he will not stay down from more then 10-20 minutes at a time today... who knows what going on with him...

Morning girls,

Colleen- Sorry to hear that Gavin was a bit unsettled yesterday, hope he has settled now or
you have worked out a reason as to why. Its so frustrating when you don't know why they are crying.

Glad you others are sorting out the shildcare situation. I'm just so sorry that you have got to go back so soon. The work situation has started to plague my mind agin the last few days. I'm not due back until Feb, but they have told me I need to work a minimum of 10 hours a week, and suggest I do 2 5 hours days. This would be lovely, but DD playschool finishes at 1pm so I'd have to get someone to collect her and would have to put Joshua in a nursery and probably pay for most of the day. It just doesn't seem worth the hasle for 10 hours and I would earn hardly anything. I however have to work somewhere because as a nurse you have to prove that you have worked so many hours each year. Oh well will not stress yet!

Well that 4hour stretch that Joshua slept was definatley a one off! He has however been pretty good sleeping 2 hours after every feed but he feeds take forever, 1 1/2- 2hours at night! He's a bit fussy and falls asleep half way through (yes I am Breast feeding). However, last night was a complete nightmare and he would only settle on myself or DH so we had 2 hours sleep from 10pm-5am! I am determined that he will not sleep in our bed as we had DD in our bed for the first 6 weeks and it was a nightmare to get out of! Means less sleep now but hoping that it will mean an easier time later on. Of course Joshua isnow fast asleep in his crib and I can't lie in this morning as DH had to go to work! Oh well we'll get there.

Take care all x

CasyP- sorry you had such a rough night last night... hopefully things will get better soon. I hear you about not letting the baby sleep in your bed - we actually had Aubrey in her crib in her own room her second night at home. I figure she needs to learn and love her crib.... or as I call it her big girls bed!

Hello to all the rest of you... no time for personals right now - work is crazy for a Friday at 4:45pm.

Hey gals, sorry I've been out of town for a few days. Not much time to post, but I think the info on Dr. Brown's was on babybargains.com???? NOt sure, I"ll have to check again later. However, I'm not sure how much credibility to put into this situation. It's the first I've heard of it, and I'm not sure if it's one of those "henny penny" situations. I do know that one of the recommended alternatives was PLaytex "dropins". So, who knows, maybe playtex is behind this somehow???? :? It's a shame really because we LOVE the dr. brown's bottles. I wish I had more time to research this. Any info anyone?

hi there all... well we had hit a wonderfull milestone.... Gavin slept 9 1/2 hours last night... it was nice... but i still woke up and checked on him, and had to pump as my BBs were really bad!! and i was up with my 3YO he managed to have to get stiches yesterday in his leg... it was aweful to watch... he cut himself on DH's laptop.. yes laptop... it was on the ottomen and the two boys were running around after each other Caden ran right into it... the gash was huge like 3inches long and 1 inch wide.. with lota of extras coming out.. he cut through the skin and fat and tissue.. just on the laptop... so we were at the ER for 3hours... but we are all doing better today..

i took gavin to the docs last week and they couldn't really find anything wrong... but thought that it might be acid reflux... so gave him somthing for that... and wow.. it was like night and day just after the 1st dose... i was thrilled and he;s doing so good now... and his sleep was wonderful i hope that it continues!!

casy- did you get any better sleep?? is joshua doing better/? have you thought of using a bassinet?? i used one for a while with breastfeeding it seemed like i would be up in the babys room so many times... i used the bassinet because he's not in our bed, but close enough to feed easy, and the bassenit i used had a vibration thing on it... MY LIFE SAVER... it could buy me 10-20more minutes... doesn't sound like a lot, but it seemed like a ton!!

did you all figure anything ou tabout the bottles?? my girl friend uses the dr browns.. i think that it is when they are heated up, they release some chemical... i couln't tell you... i'll stick to my BFing and an occasional platex drop in....

well, i hope that everyone is good, and doing well...

Hello Girls-

Well Colleen I'm so glad to hear that Gavin gave you 9 1/2 hours last night... he sounds like Aubrey now. She has been sleeping like a champ lately.... Friday night she gave us 8 hours, Saturday night she gave us 9 hours & last night we got almost 10 hours... she's amazing. I think her being up most of the day (only taking 1-2 naps is helping so much). Well she goes in for her 3 month check-up this Saturday... I can't believe she is going to be 3 months already. Time has just flown by... we are actually taking her for pictures this Sunday - wish me luck.

Well I hope the rest of you girls are all doing well...

Colleen--wow! 9 1/2 hours! Good for you guys! Sorry to hear that your DS hurt himself. I hope he has a better night tonight. I think you might be right about the bottles....I think I read that heating makes the situation worse. We just give the babies their formula at room temperature, so I don't think we need to worry about that.

For you gals who have time to research...let me know what you find out about this bottle situation.

Hey ladies....I'm curious as to your babies' schedules....especially you gals who have babies sleeping through the night. How many times are your little ones napping during the day? When they're not napping, what are they doing? I'm thinking that I might be overstimulating ellie...she's been really intensely fussing late in the evening, and I've read that that might be her way of decompressing???? I'm still trying to get these babies on a consistent schedule (and sleeping more at night). We need to get more nights of sleep, since school starts next week. I swear I'm working on empty right now, and I can't do it this way much longer....

Oh well, I've got some school work to do before I hit the sack. I pray that tonight is a better one! :?
