Post by wunnam »

HI Everyone,
I am new to this forum, i have done the initial blood works and test. We are going to the clinic to see a nurse in september. i am so excited about this but nervous at the same time. For thos who hve started would this visit be when I officially start or it would be a discussion. I am doing this on the NHS funding.

Hello.
Welcome to the forum.

I don't know how it works thru NHS but i can tell you how it was in my clinic.
On the first visit the doctor,in your case nurse, explain to us all the procedure about all type of treatments available. This would depend on sperm quality/quantity/mobility/etc.And they check all this in the first visit.

After that the next appointment is on the day 21 of your period (AF).On the app.you are prescribed drugs for down regulating your hormones and you will get all the information about the rest of your treatment.

If you don't mind could you please give us more info about your self: your age and dh age, what treatment are you going for and why.
Don't intent to be nosy but if we (and im talking on behalf of everybody here) know more about you then you can relate with any of the members here.

If you notice many of us decide to put that information on the signature.

Another suggestion is that there is other threads like SEP/OCT buddies if you want to join it.You might find somebody who is doing tratment same time as you.

I will be starting my cycle in september when i have my AF so who knows we might be buddies :)

Good luck
Anie :)

Hi,
My name is Cate, i'm from Ireland and I started the "down regulation" last Wednesday using the Synarel Nasal Spray. I have my baseline appointment on the 29th August. My husband Rob has 2 children from a previous marriage and had a vasectomy. He went for a reversal in October 2004 and was told it was successful. Unfortunately there is now no sperm present! Luckily he had sperm frozen at the time of the reversal. We're due for ICSI in mid September.

I'm scared at the thought of the prodding but having looked at some of the posts i've been very lucky. I had a cyst removal in 2005 and the surgeon at the time had a look at my womb and ovaries and said all was o.k. so I've had nothing to date except blood tests. My first scan will be on the 29th. I'm 37 so i'm excited about becoming a Mum for the first time. I'm very positive, a feeling that my husband doesn't share. I cant help thinking that if everything goes to plan I could be pregnant this time next month.
Best Wishes

Cate
