Hey all- well tomorrow I officially stop the estrogen and the PIO. I am a little nervous, so I called a scheduled a Progesterone test for Friday- just to make sure it hasn't dropped too much. When is everyone else stopping the meds? I think I've asked that question before, so sorry to bother you all again, but would like to know. I stop the baby aspirin at 12 weeks. Hope everyone is doing well.
Dixie- I take Nexium once a day because I have gastrointestinal reflux- have been taking it for years and my doc says it's okay in pregnancy. I don't like taking anything, but have had esophageal erosions before and don't want that again. So, I'm virtually heartburn free!! Just super constipated!!!!! I think I already have a hemorrhoid - it hurts!!! (sorry, TMI) Other than that I feel pretty good- just tired.
Have y'all started telling people yet? I've told about half of my friends and coworkers- probably will tell the rest soon.

laurie i definitly would think about a different midwife or doc. they should have made time for you. If they don't call you back or make you feel a little better next time.... i'd find another for sure.
jeneden, i am glad to know that your taking medicine. My doc acted a little funny but its just such a huge relief to be done with all the acid in my stomache. I haven't been as nauseated either. Anyway, its sounds like everyone is moving right along. I know there are several that haven't checked in lately and i would love to know how they are doing.

I had my first OB appt today. They only did bloodwork and a culture...no ultrasound :( . I go back in 4 weeks and they will do an u/s then. By then it will be 5 weeks since I've seen the baby, I may go crazy. He did tell me, however, that he tends to treat IVF patients a little more cautiously since we have put so much time, effort, and money into having a baby ( of course then I'm thinking why didn't you do an u/s!). He told us that it has probably been so long since my DH and I have had sex that we have probably forgotten how, but still wants us to wait until he does the u/s. He also told us that the likelihood of us miscarrying at this point is low...so that makes me feel a little better.
Jen - I stay on the crinone (progesterone) until week 12. DH and I have only told parents and siblings. No one else knows, but if my pants get any tighter, buttons may start popping and people may figure it out. We're going to try to hold out til 12 wks.
Sher, dixie, and laurie - its good to hear that things are improving for yall.
I hope everyone else on the thread is doing well.

Hey ladies,

Sorry I did not respond earlier. I work 12 hour shifts so when I get home at 8 pm I really feel tired and go to bed. I had my second OB appt. with midwife yesterday and we got to hear baby's heartbeat. I am 12w1d and my vomiting has gone away but I still get nauseated at times. I am glad everyone is doing well.
I stopped Progesterone shots at 11wks. Now I am only on baby aspirin until I am 20wks. My midwife does not do U/S again until 20 wks. Unless ther is a problem. But their office is so nice that they said if I feel that I need to have one earlier, that I can come anytime and they will do one.

Sleepyfoy,

I work in OB department at a hospital as an Registered Nurse.

Dixiegal,

When is your due date? I knoe we did transfer on the same day which was June 14th. It seens that you are further along. My due date is 3/7/08.

Laurie,

Sorry to hear about your bad appt. I would give them one more chance before considering a move to someone else. I hope things get better for you.

I was wondering how many of you will be finding out the sex of your baby? I did not on the first pregnancy and would love to on this one, but DH would like another surprise. I think we may wait again. . . :?

hey tajma, mu due date is march 1st.... i wonder why the difference??? did you do a five day blast transfer??? probably the difference is because of the date of our lmp??? wierd isn't it for it to be a week different.

sher i'm definitly finding out.. i can't stand it. its driving me nuts. we had a clear shot of baby b's bottom the other day and its looking like that one may be a girl... although its way to early to be sure. I am afraid that as they get bigger it will be harder to get in the right position.... they already have a hard time getting a good picture one of them because of how they are positioned...

anyway i don't know if its because i have so little control over what will happen or if it is the anxiety of all that may happen but i definitly want confirmation of what they are... i need to know if i need the pink carrier or the blue one LOL.

Gosh Ladies......its been so quite on this board of late! is everyone ok?
Need some advice from you all if you dont mind,

Today i spoke with my midwife about the Nuchal translucency scan which you can have between 11-14 weeks..

I have booked myselfe in to have the scan on september 10th, i will be 13wks and 4 days then. You dont get a deffinate answer yes or no wether something is wrong or not you just get a "risk" result, ie 1/1345. So i will be either high or low risk, if high then you can get other tests to get a def answer..but thats a whole new story.
My question is ...Is anyone else having this test? What are your thoughts re this test?

Any views or opinions please

laurie, I have heard about that scan, but my doc hasn't mentioned it to me..... the next scan i have will be tomorrow so i think i might ask. I'm not sure if they ever do that there since its still at my fertility doc... I swear i wonder if i will ever be released to my regular doc!
Anyway, I am at least going to ask.
and yes i might need blue and pink... dd says we need one girl for her and i and one boy for dad LOL. ( very inciteful at times for an 8 year old LOL)
i've started to feel something. its not the babies kicking or anything.. but a few times a day lately i feel like something is kinda rolling. I don't know its its the babies rolling around each other or just one pushing the other one... but i wish it would be a little stronger so i'd know its not my imagination!!! LOL.
how is everyone else coming along????

Hey Laurie- I am having the NT scan in two weeks also. I'll be 11 weeks and 6 days. I am glad they have this new procedure- it's non-invasive and will help me decide whether or not to have an amnio. My doctor advised against the Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) for me because of the higher risk of miscarriage. We will wait until we get the risk assessment before making a decision. I would rather not have the amnio, because even it carries a slight risk of miscarriage, so I'm hoping for low odds. I'm kind of excited about the actual ultrasound because I read that it is very high tech, and I am hoping I'll get to see the baby up close.

My dr mentioned the NT test. He didn't think it was needed and that it would be an extra cost. Regardless of the outcome of the test, my DH and I would not do an amnio or CVS.

I had my second u/s today. It went great. They did a 3D/4D version and set up a CD with screen shots. I was able to see the baby's arms, legs and face all very clearly. He/she looks very happy there.

I'm just starting to get a little energy back and it feels good. My belly is already sticking out. I guess this might be because it is a second pregnancy and I read that you "show" a little sooner. Luckily I still fit in my clothes and have not really gained much weight.

Laurie,
That test you mention. I thought that was pretty routine. Although it was a little early, they looked at the nuchal fold today. I'm sure my 18 week will reveal more, but they said all looks good. We will not be doing any further testing. Same reasons as Kerribell.

Dixigal,
I have a friend with twin girls and a friend with a twin boy and girl. Either way it looks like a lot of fun and you know they will be instant buddies.

Have a good weekend!

Hi -

Its been a while since I've posted - I was on vacation, stomach flu . . .twice and have had just horrible morning sickness, actually more like all day sickness.

After a couple rounds of stomach flu, I was quite worried about the babies. Thankfully I had an ultra sound this week only to find out that both are doing well. Twin B pulled through!!!! Yeah!!! It is still about 4 days behind in develpment, but the heartrate was strong, actually it was higher than Twin A. I think if Twin B has a strong heartrate, chances of it making it are much greater. During the ultra sound Twin A was moving all around and Twin B was resting until it got startled and then moved. It was amazing to see what was going inside of me. My doctor was a little more optimistic this time, but said Twin B is still behind in delevopment and wasn't quite sure what it meant. I was released to my OB/GYN, which doesn't deliver anymore, so I had to find another doctor. I took a recommendation from my RE, since I just loved him. My first visit is next week - I'll be 10 weeks and 4 days. I keep thinking it is late for a "first trimester visit", but I forget how closely I've been monitored up to this point.

Anyway, the nausea this week has been terrible - I can't even think at work and I threw up in my car on the way home yesterday - thankfully I had a bowl with me. I heard HCG levels are at the highest point during week 10 and then start to go down. I hope it means next week will be a better week.

I'm really concerned that I'm not eating enough or eating right - I've only gained 2lbs. With twins, I feel like I should be eating more, but I'm barely eating period. I am getting my vitamins in. Thanks for the tip on the V8 fruit fusion Dixiegal - it is now a staple of my diet. Those of you carrying twins - how much weight have you gained?

Jeneden -
I know I'm late in sending a response, but I"m stopping my progesterone next week at just over 10 weeks. I'm a bit nervous, but actually happy for my hips - they are really bruised.

Sher8 -
We are not going to find out the sex of the babies. My husband is really fighting me on it, but I'm a bit old fashion and want to wait.

Laurie -
As far as the NT scan, I'm anxious to find out if my dr. is going to do one. I'll find out at my appt. on Friday. A friend of mine had hers yesterday and said it was very special - the detail was amazing - she even got a dvd.

Thanks for listening to me go on and on. Take care everyone!

Hi all
How is everyone? :)
Well after having such an easy ride with the whole morning sickness thing,i think that this past week it has finally caught up with me!
Im having really bad nausea nearly every day, mostly starting in the morning but lasting ALL DAY long. I havnt actually thrown up at all, but have honestly come very close a few times.

I have gained about 5lbs now...think this is alot..as really dont think im eating much more than i ever have, but this is my 3rd pregnancy, plus im having twins, so they do say you do get bigger quicker. But im starting to do more exercise, just walking really, and starting pregnancy yoga next week so hope this helps the weight thing.

Hve booked my nuchal scan, am having it on sept 10th, and i will be 13weeks and 4 days so they say that the picture should be relly good, still waiting just over 2 weeks to see them again is going to be sooo hard, i just cant wait to feel them move about :)

Congrats to those of you who have made it past 12 weeks...im nearly there, and can then come off my progesterone supposertries thank goodness.

Speak soon

fmj,

Sorry to hear of your illnesses, but I believe some things are stronger when you are having twins. Probably a bit more hormones in your system at this time. I feel for you. I had the worst morning sickness at week 9-10 and it seems to be slowly fading. Most literature I have read says that it goes away around weeks 12-14 for most women and I hope this is the case for you.

DD had us up for 3 hours in the middle of the night last night. Still not sure why? I think she might be prepping me for a newborn. I feel both tired and sick today and looking forward to hitting the pillow tonight!
