Hi all

Mags - good to see you back - I hope the hols were still good even if a bit trying? Brown at all?

Bernie - yes sorry for now coming on much last week - sounds like its going really well with you - 12 follicles is good. I didn't take much time off after transer - but I did/do work from home so much easier for me to chill out. I think just keep mentally relaxed as much as you can and remember that loads of people don't even know they are pregnant and do all sorts of mad and crazy things and things are perfectly okay - so just what feels right.

I'm feeling really miserable at the moment. Work have cut my hours ti two days a week (was on 3) - which doesn't sound like much but I am feeling really like they don;t think I'm good at my job etc etc. (Probably coming on here too much!!) Anyway just feel generally low for some reason - even though I should be feeling very up at the moment as am on holiday in Corsica for two weeks from Sunday. Anyway I had best get back to work! Hope everyone else is okay.

Love Vicky

Hi girls,

Sorry you are feeling low Vicky, I wish I worked 2 days a week, I would love it, I only work 4 days. I have so many friends with little uns that I love catching up having lunch etc on my day off. Actually that is usually after I have been to the supermarket, and has a clean & tidy (not much of a day off). Anyway, enjoy your holiday to Corsica that will make you feel much better, relaxed and refreshed.

My Monday am scan went ok, there are 7 follies which are over 17, so I did my late night jab last night, and am booked in for the EC tomorrow first thing. Providing all goes well the ET will be Friday. I am off work now until next week. So pleased I dont have any more jabs to do!

Hi Mags, welcome back, whats Anatgonist Protocol? I will have to Google it!

I will let you know how I get on, probably on Thursday. Nearly there.....

Take care

Weh hey Bernie - Good News - Good Luck for tomorrow - I LOVE egg collection - I really like the drugs they give to make you sleepy and just whole excitement of it all - obviously never good if you don;t get as many you'd like but I always get excited!

Anyway relax and just think - on Saturday you might be pregnant!

I hope it all goes really well. Look forward to hearing how it goes. Love Vicky

Just a quick hello and catch up

Post by AGallagher »

Hello Mags, Bernie and Vicky,

Good luck with getting the funding for your cycle for Nov/Dec time Mags. I hope this one goes well for you.

Bernie, You have done well with getting 12 follicles and I hope the egg collection goes well today. Get plenty of rest and I pray that the transfer all goes well. Just try to stay positive!

Vicky, I am sorry to hear you have been so down. I have been like that for the past week and realise in my case that the drugs really affect me badly. I don't think you should see yourself as been useless in the job. I know lots of people who have had hours cut or are good and it all comes down to cost saving. We are going through it hear.

I hope you feel better soon.

As for me I have been very elusive as I have been getting very menopausal and the only way I could deal with it was to switch off and try to think about other things other than the IVF. It worked until the weekend when things finally got on top of me. Come Monday I was very tearful and have been since. I remember going through this before but I am sure it hit me earlier on. This is a frozen cycle and I am taking Burselin and the Estrogen patches. I thought by not focusing on IVF I would feel better but I think I have been overdoing things. Well the upshot is my boss knows I am feeling crap and has offered me time off and support if I need it. I have decided to wait until transfer if possible and just use the time to rest. What I am going through now is the easy bit although it does not feel like it. I am due to have a third scan on Tuesday and if all is ok, I should be having the transfer within 3 or 4 days. We have 6 frozen embryos and I have prayed that we will be fortunate and have some of them survive the thawing next week. This may be my last attempt as from a financial point of view we don't have any funds to continue and this 3rd cycle in some ways has been the worst one.

Hi

Glad you are feeling a little better. I thought I would see how things went, but will probably just take a few days next week. Maybe go back to work Thursday, depending on how I feel.

Yup, its meant to be a nice sunny bank holiday so at last we might have a day or 2 of summer! At last.

Take care

Hi

My ET went well on Friday I had 2 transferred (with 4 cells each) and 2 have been frozen (also with 4 cell each). Had a relaxing bank holiday weekend and then went back to work today (Wednesday).

I am now spending the whole time looking for paranoid signs, still only a week to go as I test on the 5th Sept.

How are you guys?

Hello girls,

Hope you are all ok.

Good luck with the test Bernie and take it easy at work.

I had two embs cell 4 transferred last Wednesday which I understood went well. Don't recall much as I was sedated.

I have come back to work today. Hummed and harred about coming back due to the train strike. It took me two hours and 3 buses. Mind you I did not feel very stressed as I met a lovely old man on the bus travelling my way who spoke to me through the entire journey. It was very nice and stopped me threating about the journey. One of my manager's caught me carrying some folders and told me off. She told me not to overdo things and rest which is really good of her. Mind you I can't do too much physical stuff as I get very breathless and have to sit down. I feel very bloated and have a bad stomach but I am trying not to read too much into it. I will leave early today and take my time travelling home and enjoy the sunshine on the way.

Hi there

My goodness me. I am pregnant! I cant believe it. It worked. Totally flabberghasted. I was so convinced it hadnt worked, the progesterone thingys are so horrid, they have made my tummy feel so swollen, I was sure it hadnt worked. When she rang, i just burst into tears and she said "so you are happy then" like just slightly so.

AGallagher I have a good vibe for you. This is it girl. We are going to do this one together.

Hope you are resting up and taking things easy, when are you going in for your test? next wednesday? I think you are a week behind me. Let me know how you are getting on.

Phew, what a day.

Take care.

Hello Bernie,

Congratulations on your good news. I am so pleased that you are pregnant and it's fantastic that it has happened first time. It is so encouraging to get positive news and I wish all the best through your pregnancy. Keep taking it easy. The progesterone does make you bloated but at least you know it is helping with the womb lining.

I am very bloated on the progesterone and still am taking estrogen. I feel windy most of the time and can't stop adding to the gas emissions. I have got over the embarrassment of it now and at least my partner can see the funny side. I test on Monday and am really focusing on staying positive. I talk to my abdomen everyday and imagine I have two little ones inside. I figured that a positive mind will encourage them. I am not going to self test as I did in the past but I will hold out till Monday.

Once again it is great news about your pregnancy. Will write back after Monday.

Hey Bernie - FANTASTIC NEWS!!

CONGRATULATIONS - you must be so over the moon. I just got back from holiday and it was so nice to read your great news.
I just wanted to ask - why did they only freeze two?

A Gallagher - I really hope it was good news for you - you must have found out yesterday? Thanks for your encouragement about work - I find it quite hard as I work from home so when stuff happens I feel like I'm the last to hear about it etc.

Will talk more later - had a really good holiday but have to do some work now. Love Vicky
