Hi there, I used to post a few years ago and I feel IVF is no longer for me, my FSH has been too high for the last three blood tests (since Xmas) so we have decided to call it a day with IVF. I have been pregnant before, 2005 I feel naturally after 8 years of trying but it was ectopic and I have done IVF twice since, first time did not respond and second time I only produced two follies but it was negative. My question is my remaining fallopian tube is blocked and stuck to the wall, can this be repaired? I did have this repaired in 2000 but I have heard that technology has changed and they can insert a wire or something, I thought if I could get this done at least I would stand a chance of falling naturally - does anybody have any information?
Good luck to all of you - you are very strong people, Kind regards Kyla
We are getting very close to the end of the journey too, will do 2 more iuis after that no more..... we r still on ivf waiting list for IVF....
dh isnt keen on adoption so i am feeling quite sadden about it all and worried in case the 2x iuis dont work..... Not sure i am strong enough for IVF after the OHSS last time.....
Its so hard.......
Totally understand where u are coming from
Best luck with obtain info on the op, parhaps thats all u need xxx

When we were 1st diagnosed, the dye test showed that both my tubes were blocked. I had one round of ivf and then consultant retired and new consultant wanted to try the op for me. He thought that he might be unable to unblock through a laparoscopy. Think sometimes they can push fluid (or wire) through with the camera.
Sadly for me the damage was too great and so then he wanted to do tubal surgery. That was quite major. Like a c-section cut under my bikini line. He was able to go in. Cut out the blockages and re-connect. It was both sides for me. They gave us a slightly higher than 50% chance after the op of getting pregnant naturally. The recovery took some time - a good month - but I felt that it gave us another chance. Was of course done under general anasthetic and think that I spent two nights in hospital although know I got out quite quickly. Don't think that I could drive for a month.
If you have other questions aboiut either the lap or the tubal surgery then please let me know and I shall try to remember. All becomes a bit of a blur after a while.
We have a follow up for 4th negative on Friday. We are also reaching the end of the road - at least with my eggs, although we may well go the donor route.
Good Luck with whatever you decide. Hope that this helps a little.
hi there i also had surgery on both my tubes first time i had a lap and they used lasers to remove the adhesion's and gave me some time to conceive naturally when that dint work i was going to get tubal reconstruction done but was advised that i would have better odds with ivf i am about to start num4 this will be my last go and if this does not work then we will be going down the adoption route
I had one blocked tube. My first question was how do we repair it? The re I had basically said that they really don't fix the blockage b/c it really wouldn't increase my chance naturally. I was actually told that even if they unblocked it, & if I would become pregnant, it increased the changes of it being etopic preg. So, I did a lap in Nov. 2006 to remove the one tube and it was determined that I had endometrosis. I am now at a point where my insurance will only approve one IVF at a time. Had 3 failed attempts. Will have one more sometime in Aug. If that doesn't work, I will have to see if the insurance will approve any more--but even if they do, it'll only be for 2 more at the most. My dh isn't too keen on adoption either and we both have decided not to do donor eggs. So, it looks like it'll be coming toward the end for me as well--whether the ivf works or not.
I understand you. I went through numerous AI's and two IVF's, I feel like I'm done. I think especially since my inew nsurance coverage doesn't cover IVF and I cannot afford treatment. Emotionally though it's a roller coaster, I just don't want to get on another ride right now.

I think any tests that may help you get a bundle of joy is worth doing. You never know what the issues are unless you get tested. You never know, and it might just be the thing that makes a difference.
