Pregnancy chance after D&C?

Hi All

Just had D & C done yesterday. Had a empty sac, stopped developing at 5.5 weeks. I waited nearly 3 mths for natural M/C and had enought of waiting and finally got D & C done.

How many of you were able to fall pregnanct after D & C? I read somewhere that it may ncrease your fertility and there is a chance for a natural conception. Is it possible?

It was our 1st IVF cycle, + and unfortunately ended with D & C. Any advice will be helpful! Thank you

hopefull, sorry to hear your news. I, too, got pg with my first IVF cycle in Dec but sadly m/c at 8wks in late Jan of this year. We decided to give IVF one more try and thank God we did. We are now 15 wks pg, doing fine. I always say that things happen for a reason and all in good time. Don't give up, you'll be pg before you know it.

I have a beautiful baby girl, conceived in our 3rd IVF cycle, after having a m/c in our first IVF cycle at 8 weeks along in the pregnancy.

Our second cycle was not successful, but the third cycle gave us our miracle baby.

I have had friends fall pregnant right off after a D&C, although they did not have a fertility concern to begin with, so I'm not sure it would be the same for us who have had trouble.

I also had a miscarriage & D&C on 8/23 (my 34th b-day). It was my first pregnancy. I was 9 weeks. Thankfully i had the D&C 2 days after finding out the bad news, so I did not have to drag it out. The worst part is starting all over again. But I do hae hope and will try again. I also am going to try on my own for two months and if that does not work, back to IVF. Please update me on your status, I beleive its been a month for you.

I want you to be hopeful because, although I haven't experienced this myself, I had two friends who had D&Cs and within 6 mths they were both pregnant again! Of course, I'm jealous since I've been trying for 3 years... but it should give you hope that you too will be as lucky. Good luck!

Hi, no reason for your to think that D&C causes any problems. I had a D&C last year but touchwood, pregnant now [even though not naturally]. Good Luck to you!
