I had the first scan last week which showed heartbeat (which was fantastic) but today had bleeding when I went to the loo, bright red with some small blobby bits in it. The bleeding has continued through the day (no bits).

I've had no stomach cramps, just sickness and back-ache.

Booked in for emergency scan tomorrow morning, but would appreciate any advice anyone can give on their experiences to hopefully help put our minds at rest.

Hope to hear from you soon (thanks in advance)

Dawn x

Hi Dawn

I know its easy to say, but try not to think the worst. Its really common to bleed, and I read in one of my books that 95% of bleeding means bugger all, its just your body doing its thing. I know your mind won't be put at rest until you have the scan, but try to think positively, everything will be fine. Someone I work with is 12 weeks and has bled every few days since she found out. Every time she's been to the hospital, and everything has been fine.

Good luck with your scan, and get a good night's rest.

LOL

Rachel
x
Hi Dawn,

Try not too worry too much, as Rachel says - it does happen and i'm sure it's nothing to worry about,

Big hugs and good luck for tomorrow,

Lizzy xxx
Hi Dawn

Try not to worry, I know its not easy, I bled for the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy and then it went, but come to week 14 it started again. I had a few scares because you automatically think something is going wrong. The thing is Dawn please stay positive because you will make yourself ill. Please let us know how you get on at the clinic but I am sure all will be ok. They say that they don't always know what causes the bleeding as long as you don't have any cramp pains that is a good thing. I lost brown and red blood and the clinic say some people do when there AF is due??

Love
Shell.
17wks 6 d pg
xx
Dear Dawn,

Keeping everything crossed for you today. I have also bled (bright red blood every time and red spotting in between) on SO many occassions so far, with heavy bleeds including clots AND pains at 9.5, 12, 15.5 weeks. Each scan showed the babe blissfully unaware of anything. As Shell says, they couldn't tell me why it was happening (they call it unexplained bleeding), which was SO frustrating but seems this is not an uncommon experience. I'm now 18 weeks 3 days. Stay as positive as you can this morning - the good thing about going for a scan is that it's a positive practical thing that you and your partner are doing rather than sitting at home wondering and worrying.

I'll be thinking of you and sending tons of positive vibes!
love,
Nina
Dawn

Just wanted to say good luck and hope all goes well. The others are far more expert than me luckily

Love
Tracey
xxx
ttc 9 years. 38 yrs old, dh 8 hrs younger!First IVF in Aug 2002 and had ectopic.2nd IVF neg.3rd FET and negative.4th FET and positive but sadly lost our little boy at 20 weeks.5th FET and Alice Isobel and Emily Charlotte born 5th Aug 2004!
Thank you all so much for your encouraging messages, they did the trick!

We were down the hospital before 9am this morning, and had to wait ages, as we were booked as an emergency we had to fit in between the actual appointments (doesn't quite make sense to me, but hey-ho).

Anyway, the baby is fine, the heartbeat is still strong, and they could see where the bleed was coming from, and have signed me off work and want me to have complete bed-rest until another scan next Friday (when I will be 9.5 weeks).

So am following their advice and taking it easy, don't want to risk anything. Still bleeding, but not as much and no more clots, and they hope the blood will just reabsorb into the body or gradually stop.

Thank you all for your wonderful messages of support, where would we be without this site?

DH says a massive THANK YOU too! He was beside himself with worry, they must feel so helpless in those situations.

Wishing you and your bumps well,

D x

Hi Dawn

That's fantastic news. Take it easy now - I hope you feel reassured by everyone else's experiences and what the hospital have said. Everything's fine.

LOL

Rachel
x
Hi Dawn,

Good to hear it went well for you - just make sure you take things really easy. Feet up and lots of pampering

Much love, Lizzy xxx
Hi Dawn,

Was really nervous reading your post this morning as we were also going through the same process today. Thankfully, like yours, our baby is fine and nine weeks old today - we even saw it move! I'm so glad things are ok for you - just think, if they're giving us this much trouble now, just think what they'll be like at 15!!

Take care and take it easy
Zoe x

Hi Dawn

I know how much of a worry it can be and it does stress you out. You make sure you get complete rest because at the end of the day yourself and your baby come first.

I am a little undecided today because I have been to the loo and I am losing brown again. I am supposed to be at work today at 08:00 but think I am going to phone in sick. I may also see if I can have another scan to make sure baby is ok. I have been getting fluttering but didn't have any yesterday and then get up this morning to this spotting, its such a worry.

Love
Shell.
xx
Michelle

After what you have told me I think you should follow your advice too and stay at home. Try and get a scan, just to put your mind at rest.

With the amount that is going on in there you are bound to get strange sensations, so phone your GP/Hospital and make sure baby is fine.

Let me know how you get on, thinking of you.

D x
