Cocoa,

Did you go for your 8th week Ultra sound? What did they see? I am going on 29th Aug.
Something happened last night that has made me really scared. I went to pee last night and with pee there came a tiny clot. I am getting so scared. My reproductive nurse said there is nothing much they can do before the ultra sound and if I do not bleed a lot there is nothing to scare. I am so wanting to know what that clot means.

Hi Kalu... I am only four weeks and one day today. I am not ready for an ultrasound or to be released from my RE BUT I did have a baby almost 14 years ago (GOSH! how quickly it all goes...) and I have to tell you that I have always suffered from a luteal phase defect and I actually bled (reddish with some egg white mucus in it) for almost 15 weeks of that pregnancy. Sure I was on progesterone supositories but it was tough still. I remember the first visit to my ob/gyn when I called her and told her I was bleeding. I went into the office the morning after my ER visit (which is where I had the first ultrasound at 4 weeks 2days and we saw the sac-it felt weird being taken to maternal/fetal medicine) and the STUPID nurse says "well, if you miss, you miss..." Can you believe that??? See... I still remember it like it was yesterday. I hated that nurse from that moment on and only wanted Kathy her other nurse to work on me. Well, I had my second ultrasound at 6 weeks 2 days and a 3rd ultrasound 4 weeks after that. The baby kept growing fine and he is now an official pain in the butt teen

Nurses can be so stupid with what they say. I think ANYONE who has not been the IF route can be stupidly insensitive. You hang in there and if you have to take a little more proges. than prescribed. I cannot hurt and it might put your mind more at ease.

Sticky baby vibes and prayers and blessings to you!!! Let me know what happens. (where do you live?)

Cocoa,

I love to read your detailed reply:) I live in Minneapolis. What about you? I don't know if I am going to have twins yet. My beta hcg was 7633 4 days ago. The reproductive medicine people do not say much. I am so ready to move to a obgyn now. My first appt with obgyn is on 31st after the Ultra sound. They are going to see the viability and positioning of the baby. After 2 yrs of all infertility treament, we got this good news. I am keeping all my fingers crossed.
What are you eating these days? I am drinking lot of milk and eating 3 fruits everyday. I think I should increase my veges. I also eat chicken and some fish.

I should get back to my work now:) "ll come back again after an hour. Take care.

Hi Cocoa!

I am getting confused re: the boards I need to check daily (!)...thus the lateness of my reply.

Here is the link:
http://www.whattoexpect.com/community/landing-page.aspx

You can register at the top, right hand corner.
If you scroll down, there's a list of board names......lots of useful information!

I talked to one of my nurses today...she said that morning sickness starts at 4-6 weeks GESTATIONAL (ie: subtract 2 weeks from your official "due date") ... so, Cocoa, you and I are on a similar schedule (my transfer was Aug 8, the fertilization/extraction of eggs was on Aug 3 for me) ... so I am HOPING no sickness or at least to keep it at bay for a couple of more weeks (I'm at week 5 this Friday)

Can not wait for my ultrasound!
I am SO TIRED I can't get out of bed in the morning...other than that, doing well...how about you?

GOOD LUCK

Woodcliff,

When is your ultra sound? Mine is on 29th. Can't wait anymore:) Is that to see the viability and positioning of the baby? I do not have any symptoms accept for little crampig and pink mucus sometimes.
Good luck with everything.

Hey Kalu and Woodcliff!!!

I know I get all confused with all the boards too... And then sometimes when you ask a question without reading another post you wind up asking something that was already answered... so we all need some forgiveness huh?! Especially since our minds will be turning into mush as the 1st trimester REALLY get underway.

I got ms at GESTATIONAL 4 weeks (6 weeks) so I KNOW I have that on the horizon. I never did throw up but wretched alot and tried to sleep through most if it. At the time of that pregnancy I was teaching kindergarten so I was EXHAUSTED from week 4 through week 15. Actually, I woke up one morning at 15 weeks and it was ALL gone... the ms, the exhaustion the cravings and I was fine up to about 8 starting month 8 THEN the pressure gets to you and you swell A LOT in the last 3 to 4 weeks (Beached whale time).

What do I eat... I am not a vegetarian BUT I do not eat a lot of meat either. I try to separate my food groups to keep my digestive system healthy. I eat fruit thats filled with enzymes in the morning (pineapple, prunes, grapes, strawberries, mang, papaya) and for lunch I make a huge salad with all kinds of colorful veggies in it (you CAN use canned because the way canned veggies are vacuumed sealed now they have A LOT of vitamins and the salt is less of an issue with all the new dietary regluations). I use only olive or sesame oil and rice vinegar and add seasonings to taste. I may also have baked potatoes, corn on the cob (with mayo is delicious), tortilla chips and salsa - etc with carbs. I have gotten used to this diet over the last two months so I don't crave sweets, I don't drink soda and I stopped coffee 2 months ago (though I have only drunk decaf for 2 years now). I don't like milk at all but sesame oil and seeds have MORE calcium than milk. For dinner I like bacon and eggs sometimes, chicken, salmon (any good proteins). If I finish the day with protein then I might have some ice cream if in the mood.

The nice thing about this diet is that you can eat as much as you want with each meal (yes even bacon with eggs) because you are separating your food groups but once you eat protein everything after that has to be protein. I avoid ALL processed sugar but I DO eat breads (without hydrogenated oils).

Bet you didn't expect an answer like this huh?

Anyway, whatever diet you are on be sure you do not eat unpasturized fruit juices, cheeses, dairy or anything raw. I really don't want to gain too much weight (25 to 35 is good for my BMI UNLESS I have twins then 35-45)...

WC - thanks for the site I am going to check it out.

I do not know when I will be released from my RE. I go in for a second Beta in the morning so I will see then if my HCG goes well over 1000 which could mean twins. I think normal ultrasound time is GESTATIONAL 4 weeks.

So I broke down and went to B&N today and bought "What to Expect When You're Expecting". My son is soooo excited. I am just going to proceed as if my bundle WILL be arriving 4/30/08. You MUST do that too Kalu... It's truly an experience unlike any you've ever imagined...

Love to you,

Cocoa

Hi Girls...

Now "the big teaser" results (yes, I have just given you permission to tease me...)...

My second Beta (today - 11dp5dt) is..... 1272!!! So, it went from 485 on Wed to 1272 today (Fri)... is that good? Should it be more than doubling in 2 days???? or tripling? Ahhhh... I'm freaked out even though the doctor in his "kind but flat" tone said "so your number went up nicely..." Nicely??!??! what's that?!?!?!? Am I single? twin? Oh, why do I get myself all worked up over the "next step"? I go in again on Monday for MORE tests and already I'm a nervous wreck about the numbers... oh, what's wrong with me?? Oh, I know...HORMONES!!!! Those dang hormones....

Anyway, what's up girls??? Who's a wreck and who's as calm as a cucumber? (I think you can tell I've officially and completely entered the black hole of the twilight zone...)

Love to you all!!!!

Lot's and lots of Sticky Vibes and Baby Dust!!!

Cocoa! Whoa, you go girl! Congratulations...
Just as a comparison, since our numbers are so close, my day 10 post transfer was 475, and my day 13 (hit a weekend there) was 1,680...

my nurse said the twin thing...BUT could be a big fat baby

Or two
Congratulations...so cute your son is excited..and if there will be 2, well double the excitement!
Cocoa, you are a healthy eater...enjoy.
Interesting re: from 6 weeks on you were ill...sorry. Hope it won't happen again.
But I have a feeling I'm in for it as well...I just want my ultrasound!
My U/S won't be until the week after Labor Day...sigh.
Then my MD does an 8-week sonogram.
But my hubby? I'll be going into his office for his sonographer to check me out weekly...hee hee. One perk there!

Yeah, I guess our testing dates are just two days off with test #2 UNLESS you had a 3dt THEN they would be the exact same day!!! BUT you did wait 3 days for test #2 and mine was only 2 days later so we COULD be looking at   ... Hmmmmm... 8)

What does your DH do? Is he a doc? What kind? Oh, where do you live? In the states? East, west, north, south? or in another country? My ofrst guess would be NJ since there's a woodcliff in NJ but what do I know...

Haven't heard from Vlada today and LisaPa only posts in PG. Kipatte got a BFP on the HPT and I am so happy for her. It makes the first Beta phone call just a tad easier to sit and await.

SO... here's to a HH9M!!!!

Hey Cocoa! Great news on K's PFP...Vlada posted that her #s were up (yay!)...I can't keep track of the board's names...der.

Live in the SE...(I love to try to stay anonymous on these boards...I read somewhere that forums and emails are the new DNA...as in, we can be tracked down forever from posting on these dern things)...hubby's a doctor, sometimes a good thing, sometimes bad (as in, my leg'll have to fall off to ever get sympathy...docs have seen it all!).

Good thing is he doesn't know what to make of pregnancy though, so that's in my court. hee hee

I had a 5 DY blastocyst transfer on Aug 8...
YOU have a fun, great weekend...good luck with the back to school shopping with your boy!

HCG tripled

Post by kipatte »

Hi Ladies:

I do find these boards confusing. I sometimes can't remember where I have posted last and its hard to get back to the right one.

My 2nd test today.

661 HCG, and my estrogen was back up to 371. That is a relief. When is everyone's ultrasound that tells you how many? Mine is 9-11.

Cocoa! CONGRATULATIONs..I am so happy for you! Does it feel overwhelming yet??? I told my hubby this a.m. that I so want to keep this under wraps because once it is "out" our lives for the next 8 months, well, we'll be in a space where people will consistently taunt us about the pregnancy. (kind of that Karma thing, like me giving poor Vlada grief re: carrying 8 embies!)...

What I'm NOT looking forward to, is how people will say "Oh my god, your life will never be the same" or "Are you going to breast feed?" etc etc.

Why am I worrying? Geesh...I just hope my #s come back as healthy as yours today, Cocoa!
THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME WITH MY TICKER...
Did you sign up for Baby Gaga (just google it)? It's COOL...in my email box each week, there's a "at 5 weeks your baby is X" ... scary cool!

Oh, Cocoa, I have a Q:
Your first U/S is on Labor Day, that's great! How did you get it so soon? Unfortunately I was told to wait until week 6, something about not seeing heartbeats any earlier than that...I don't have mine until Tues, Sept 4
OR, does your MD calculate it that you'll be 5+ weeks preggers, but IN your 6th week?
This gets so darn confusing to me :? :?
