Hey Kalu and Woodcliff!!!
I know I get all confused with all the boards too... And then sometimes when you ask a question without reading another post you wind up asking something that was already answered... so we all need some forgiveness huh?! Especially since our minds will be turning into mush as the 1st trimester REALLY get underway.
I got ms at GESTATIONAL 4 weeks (6 weeks) so I KNOW I have that on the horizon. I never did throw up but wretched alot and tried to sleep through most if it. At the time of that pregnancy I was teaching kindergarten so I was EXHAUSTED from week 4 through week 15. Actually, I woke up one morning at 15 weeks and it was ALL gone... the ms, the exhaustion the cravings and I was fine up to about 8 starting month 8 THEN the pressure gets to you and you swell A LOT in the last 3 to 4 weeks (Beached whale time).
What do I eat... I am not a vegetarian BUT I do not eat a lot of meat either. I try to separate my food groups to keep my digestive system healthy. I eat fruit thats filled with enzymes in the morning (pineapple, prunes, grapes, strawberries, mang, papaya) and for lunch I make a huge salad with all kinds of colorful veggies in it (you CAN use canned because the way canned veggies are vacuumed sealed now they have A LOT of vitamins and the salt is less of an issue with all the new dietary regluations). I use only olive or sesame oil and rice vinegar and add seasonings to taste. I may also have baked potatoes, corn on the cob (with mayo is delicious), tortilla chips and salsa - etc with carbs. I have gotten used to this diet over the last two months so I don't crave sweets, I don't drink soda and I stopped coffee 2 months ago (though I have only drunk decaf for 2 years now). I don't like milk at all but sesame oil and seeds have MORE calcium than milk. For dinner I like bacon and eggs sometimes, chicken, salmon (any good proteins). If I finish the day with protein then I might have some ice cream if in the mood.
The nice thing about this diet is that you can eat as much as you want with each meal (yes even bacon with eggs) because you are separating your food groups but once you eat protein everything after that has to be protein. I avoid ALL processed sugar but I DO eat breads (without hydrogenated oils).
Bet you didn't expect an answer like this huh?
Anyway, whatever diet you are on be sure you do not eat unpasturized fruit juices, cheeses, dairy or anything raw. I really don't want to gain too much weight (25 to 35 is good for my BMI UNLESS I have twins then 35-45)...
WC - thanks for the site I am going to check it out.
I do not know when I will be released from my RE. I go in for a second Beta in the morning so I will see then if my HCG goes well over 1000 which could mean twins. I think normal ultrasound time is GESTATIONAL 4 weeks.
So I broke down and went to B&N today and bought "What to Expect When You're Expecting". My son is soooo excited. I am just going to proceed as if my bundle WILL be arriving 4/30/08. You MUST do that too Kalu... It's truly an experience unlike any you've ever imagined...
Love to you,
Cocoa
