Christine - Sorry that your husband is being a pill. Tell him to snap out of it. He is good with your other kid(s) right?

Rikirees - I'm so glad that you are feeling a little relaxed.

Malinka - I think genetic counseling is necessary when there is a specific concern. Sometimes age, but more religious background (both jewish) or history of a disorder.

Ladies - I am really not feeling kicking yet at 21 weeks. So many people ask me and maybe I do once in awhile, but not consistently. Sounds like some of you are feeling it already. Let me know.

Thanks.

TansRN - Thanks for your support. I started feeling movement around 18 weeks and a lot more now at different times of the day. A lot of women don't feel it until at least 20 weeks.

My2LnT - Take it easy and know we are all praying for the best for you and baby!

wannabeone - Thank you. DH is wonderful with our daughter. So I'm pretty sure he will get past this. You should be feeling significant movement very soon. If you don't then I would suggest mentioning it to your OB. Your baby is surrounded by lots of fluid which helps minimize the impact of his/her movements. Hang in there!

Best wishes to all of you lovely ladies. Take Care!

Christine- welcome back--you were missed!

Wannabeone- I don't feel kicking, but do feel a lot of movement. sometimes it feels like a cramp starting and other times like a gas bubble that last longer than necessary, last night I was trying to position a pillow under belly and had my hand lifting baby and "mini" started pushing back...that was way cool. DH looked horrified and estatic at the same time.

My2Lnt- take it easy...I had some brown discharge (TMI) Sun/Mon but I chalked it up to "special time" Other than the low lying placenta did they give you a reason?

TansRN- hope you had a great time shopping..DH has forbidden me until we finish the baby's room...I know I cannot wait that long but I'm trying to be good for a little while.

Malinka- I wouldn't worry too much about the Tech, they aren't trained to deal with people and say things good/bad that they shouldn't. The perenatoligist is the one you should worry about and he/she said no worries.

My sister and kids brought dinner over last night and what a nice night! We started talking about registering and shower....WOW, I still cannot believe this is happening, albeit 7 years later. I also talked to my mom hoping she could give me some reassurance around the keg that has been installed around my mid section....to no avail she only gained 13lbs with her 1st, and me her last she gained only 30. The way I'm going I'm going to be 30lbs at 6 months.....LOL I must take after father's side!

Thanks Christine!!

Noodle- No low lying placenta is the only thing they said... I wish it was "special time" we have not done that since before my transfer.. Shew and now that I have this they say NO special time so DH said he would just wait until after lil man gets here.

OK will check in later hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hey guys
I am back at it. I went for my anatomy scan today and everything looks really good she confirmed that we are having a boy and a girl. She said without a doubt she could tell. I feel better about it as I have been buying all kinds of things! Anyhow both babies are measuring 19w1d so about a full week ahead of schedule so that is good and they both weigh in at about 9 ounces. Everything looked good as far as brains, lungs, arms, legs, etc. They were moving so much and she made me a tape so I can watch it at home. They were very active and my girl (Sophie Marie)'s feet were kicking my boy (Riley Thomas)'s head! It was so funny. i love watching them on there and I just wish that I could feel them more. She said that as the days go on I will but you guys know how it goes.....I will post the pics on my blog a little later.

Steph
Nice name. A jr. ha that is great! Love it. I hope that you can have a little bit of peace with this pregnancy and soon right?

Noodle
That is what I am feeling as well. A lot of pressure at times and moving but not real kicks yet. I am looking for it daily though. I went nuts shopping and got the babies lots of stuff. I have to stay away from those darn stores!!! LOL

Christine
Thank you for your comment about moving. I guess I have to be patient and wait another two weeks. What is another waiting period right? LOL

Hi Ladies,

I noticed our January thread was low down on the postings and thought I'd bring it back up to the top. It's amazing how much we all posted in the beginning and how it's dwindled some now that we are into our second trimesters. I hope you are all doing well. Nothing really new in terms of baby here.

Good Morning---hope you all had a great Holiday Weekend! DH and I took a long weekend and went hiking in upstate NY...fun, fun, it felt great to get out in the fresh air. I was on vacation last week, went to the beach and king TUT exhibit and slept in every day.....felt wonderful. Baby is good crazy when it's awake, DH finally felt HB by laying his hand on my belly, he refuses to push. He was very freaked out, he is so excited but I don't think he really realized baby was really in there, I think he thought I was just gaining weight...very weird.

Wannabeone..anything up? Shoppping yet?
TansRn...nice report from the doctor, it's a relief isn't it? Even though everything feels good, it's still nice to hear the OK from DR

Hope everyone else is hanging in there!

Hi Ladies,

I hope you are doing great in your second trimesters! No major issues being reported so that is good news! I have my next checkup on Sept 13th. Our baby girl is very active and DH is getting a thrill actually watching and feeling my stomach when she is moving around. We ordered her nursery furniture and bedding over the long weekend. We haven't discussed names yet. We're taking our DD to a local farm next weekend where they have animals, apple picking, hay rides, etc.

I look forward to everyone's updates. Take Care Ladies!

Hey guys.....

Christine
I love fall. I really do. We go to the cider mill every year and pick apples, get cider and then take a hay ride to a field to pick out a pumpkin. The boys have so much fun. I am so looking forward to doing it this year. We usually go the first week in October. Nice and cool evening. That is so exciting that you ordered furniture. That is great!!! I am just starting to get the room together and I need more closet space for boy clothes as the whole entire thing is pink right now!!!!

Noodle
I used to live in upstate NY on a farm just south of Rochester. It is beautiful country there....It is weird how guys think of babies. They just dont have that special bond like we do. My DH always says he will have that when the babies come out!

Wanna
I was thinking about that myself. Glad that things are going well in the second trimester as well for everyone. Each day I feel the babies more and more. I love it and each time I smile as I have that moment with them. I am getting the room and clothes prepared. Trying to stock up on diapers and wipes every time I go to the store. Never hurts to be ready!!! Im sure as the months progress we will have more and more to share!!! We are about half way there already! Well some of us are half way already....

Good Morning...I go to the DR today for level II scan...yeah! I love seeing the baby and cannot wait to start calling it by name. We have decided to find out gender. I am having a few weird pains today so it will be nice to put those at ease. Still don't know if DH is going to be able to come with us, kind of upset about that.

Hope everyone is doing well cannot wait to hear updates.

How did everything go today and what are you having??? Can you tell I am chomping at the bit about it? LOL I hope that everything looked good and you will be able to have your mind put at ease by looking at your baby! I love going too. It really never gets old. I love it. It is like womb TV!!!! Hope it went well.

Rikirees
I was thinking about you today and I hope that you are doing well. Hope to hear from you soon.

Not much going on here. Just feeling the babies move more and more each day and I just love it. It is so reassuring. Every time I smile.

hi ladies:
I am back (for now). I had a rought 2 weeks. Spent most of it in the hospital. Apparently, the twins that we reduced which are supposed to re-absorb into the body just DIDNT want to. They insisted on coming out, so I kinda had to give birth to them (Sorry if TMI). The remaining baby is still doing well and the Dr. will decide on Tuesday if he is going to put my cerclage in (on tuesday). My cervix is still thinining even after all this. The Dr. had thought after the twins came out things should be normal but it is not looking like that is happening. I also lost a TON of weight. Nearly 10 lbs and am back down to my prepregnancy weight. Makes me super nervous. I love my doppler though. It is the only thing that tells me I am even still pregnant. I lost so much weight and my belly is gone. I also dont feel a ton of movement so the dopller is really the only thing that keeps me going.
Glad to see everyone else is doing well.
