Advice in Cramping!!

Post by Faithinababy »

Hello ladies -

I am going on my 13th week of pregnacy and still have been feeling some cramps off and on. I has worried me a little being my very first pregnacy thanks to GOD and IVF. Got prego on the first try. I know that cramping is very normal the first few weeks but I am going into my 2nd trimester and still feel those annoying little cramps. I went to my doc this morning and he checked my baby and my little peanut is fine. He also checked my cervix and he said he did not see any funneling that it looks very normal so he had me do a urine test for a bladder infection and that came back negative. I am soo glad it all looks normal. He said he was still going to send my urine to a lab just to double check. So I asked him what is wrong then and he said that sometimes the uterus likes to overact and that can cause some cramping. I am very happy being prego but I do wish that the cramps were gone. I have not been working for the past week because I am afraid to walk or stand for too long and I don't want to be stressed due to my work so I am avoiding all that. I know that when its a first baby and we went thru IVF we tend to worry alot more. I cry every day hoping that everything is normal and that what I am feeling is very normal. I have not had any bleeding and everything else is ok its just the cramps that I feel and they are not very strong hard cramps they are just some soft light cramps but can be uncomfy at times. I hope that some of you can tell me that you had this and have been fine. What have any of you done to take care of yourselves and feel better because of the cramps? The doctor prescribed some meds to relax my uterus but it really worries me to take anything. He said the that the effects of this med is race in your heartbeat and that freaked me out more I just don't know what the meds are called I still need to pick them up from Wal-greens. Please can anyone tell me if this is normal and if this happened to any of you?

just want to let you know I am 30 weeks pg, and had cramps throughout the pregnancy. They feel like I am getting AF. And it is normal. Also braxton hicks contractions can start about 12 weeks, and I was told that is what the cramps are, just braxton hicks. I had them since I was 15 weeks, and sometimes they feel different, like a tightning (contraction), other times like AF. He told me it was nothing to worry about, unless I start having them like every 10 min. Also they told me to drink lots of water and it would help, well it didn't for me, but it may for you. Another thing they told me to get was a maternity belt (belly belt). It velcros and helps support your lower muscles. That helped me alot in the begining, but now as I am bigger not so much.

Good luck. Congrads on the first IVF, We got a BFP on our first IVF also.

Hi,

i also had cramping. Mine didn't feel like AF. They felt like a ton of pressure on my cervix. I did feel them across my stomache but again not like period cramps. They worried me all the time too. I have felt a miscarriage, and it actually felt a bit like that. It would get worse if I would lift or be on my feet too long. My dr. also checked my cervix for funneling and found none. I have had a perfectly healthy pregnancy and the cramping actuall stopped for me around week 20. I am now 32 weeks and going strong! I am sorry you have to go through this and I know how emotional it can make a pregnancy. Good luck take it easy and I'm sure you will be fine. Sometimes I just think my body never thought it would get pregnant and did not know how to handle the strain! Hopefully your will go away like mine did, but I had it for the whole first 20 or so weeks.

Hi ladies -

THank you soo much for the responses that is what I wanted to hear. I am glad both of you are getting very close to having your little miracles and I now feel better that you all have went thru what I am going thru and have surpassed all the dangers. I will now sleep alot better tonight and not worry so much. I guess they are normal as long as there is no bleeding and they don't get very bad. They do feel like I am going to start my period but not as bad. Well good luck to both of you and I wish you lots of luck!

Hi Shantala -

I know what you mean, I am still cramping a little but I am trying not to really worry about it. It can be hard at times and I just want to lay in bed and not do anything but doc confirmed that everything and the baby looks very good but I want this to happen so bad that everything just freaks me out. I have asked around about the cramps and some people tell me to rest and others tell me its very normal. Yes, I am new to having a baby so I really do not know what to expect but like I said I am keeping my FAITH praying and asking GOD to help my and my little miracle go thru this. Good thing that we have eachother to help eachother and confort eachother.

Good Luck!!
