Hi Tracey
Thanks for your congrats on my other post.
You asked for details on the c-section well mine went a little bit wrong in places.
They decided that Josh was going to be too big for me to have naturally and because of our history (MC x2 and IVF) the doctor gave me the option for a C which to be honest I jumped at because i didn't much fancy the idea of natural labour once I knew he was going to be a biggie...I'm only 5ft 3 !!
The main problem was that because he was so big and hadn't engaged properly then he was still high-up in my womb, they needed to deliver him by forceps. This took longer than expected and by the time thay got him out I was haemoraging (spelling??) and the anasthetic had started to wear off.Something to do with my metabolism so don't think this happens to everyone.
I was lying there crying and trying to hold my new baby but having pains from where they were delivering the placenta and sewing me up.......a little strange to say the least.
Needless to say being British and the stiff upper lip it was a case of "erm excuse me should i be able to feel this " rather than bloody hell that hurts.
They pumped me full of more drugs and everything was fine but something to be aware of, you still get contractions after a c so i was having contractions and gas and air after giving birth...bizarre!!

Despite all this I would definitely have a c in future, you are bit sore afterwards but it's not as bad as you think. In fact going to go to doctors and get myself signed fit ready for driving and it hasn't even been two weeks yet.

Hope I haven't scared you off but you did ask :0)

Take care
Terri
xxxxx

Terri

Thanks for that - just my natural curiousity - you are a fighter anyway. Hope you are recovering - does having and holing Joshua make you forget or at least put it to the back of your mind?!
I am so delighted for you.
I am 5"4 and a HALF!!!!!!!!! and small build - not that this makes much difference - we shall see what happens but agree with you over c section - it there is doubt that is what I will go for but want to try naturally (ouch I think!!!)
Thanks for letting me know.
Take care
Love
Tracey
xxx
