There are a few posts on this topic...I had a devil of a time, but got Lidocaine prescribed to me (someone suggested it)...I find if I put it on 60 minutes prior to the shot I don't feel it go in.

That said, my husband and I are very careful where the shot goes in, to avoid earlier "bird's egg" lumps on my bum.

GOOD LUCK

Also, for some, warming the oil under hot water helps (doesn't take long)...thins the oil. Also, some like to put a heating pad on (be careful it does NOT get on your belly, hurts your embies)

My husband would use a cold spray prior to the shots, ethyl chloride. It did wonders, didn't feel a thing. Warming the shot in a heating pad 30 sec or so helps thin it down and go in easier. A heating pad afterwards also helps.
