How To Dress When Pregnant Tips

Post by woodcliff »

Hello, Ladies!
Well, I hope I'm not jinxing anything...my first U/S is next week...

My size 8s no longer fit, nor do my 10s...I dug out a very old pair of 12 pants, but I do know I'll need to go shopping soon...
It's hard because I'm eating lots of carbs (not hungry just trying not to get nauseated)...and I can't workout with my Personal Trainer!

Here's a great thread (not MY great, but the people who "donated" ideas were GREAT) I started on another board:
http://forums.prospero.com/n/mb/message ... 45.1&ctx=1

I'm hoping we can do the same here.
If any of you have already "preggers" shopped for clothes, how about sharing some ideas? When did you buy the first clothes? What were your favorite items?
THANK YOU

Woodcliff, Get one of those bands I've seen them called Bella band or the tummy band I bought one yesterday. Because of my OHSS I can't were any of my dress slacks for work but I got into a pair today using the band. So they will extend the life of your current pants and if you have maternity and you aren't quite filling them out yet they will work for that to. The store I went to carries them in black, white and nude. lovin it

Aliann! Thank you...
but I'm terribly confused on how those work (I just googled one and saw photos)

DOES THIS MEAN that you don't zip up your pants that are too small?
Isn't that uncomfortable, or, worse, aren't you afraid of things like butt cleavage if the pants slip down?

Ohmigod I am so not ready for this.
Beam me up, Scotty!

You crack (no pun intended) me up. I can still get my zipper up but can't do the button so you just put it around your waist over your pants so they don't fall down and I have been wearing mine all day and have yet to even feel like I am going to flash some crack! and I have been very comfortable, I though that it would put a lot of pressure on my tummy like a girdle or something but not so its very flexable

Fabulous! Thank you, A!!!
Another Question: Can people see it and "tell" you are wearing it? As in, do your colleagues know you're preggers yet?
Oh, I'm running out and getting one of those things...well, ordering one online!

Cocoa, it's funny, I don't have much of an appetite either but I force myself to eat a breakfast (I HATE breakfast) and just other food to keep something in my gut...I've read that an empty stomach will tempt morning sickness...then again, I think it's like the embies sticking: If it's going to happen, it'll happen! :?

metal mouth...do you have braces? hahahahah
sorry, strange mood today.
Never heard of metal mouth...

Hope your day at work goes OK
I need to get cracking on my work. You can see how well I'm doing there.

Well everyone in my office nows I 'm pregnant I work in a very small office! 10 people but no one could tell it was on I was wearing a longer shirt but I think even if it stuck out a little it would look like you had an undershirt or tank top on that was longer than your regular shirt.

Aliann...

So then how did it come to pass that everyone at work knows you're pregnant? Did someone ask???

You are 2 days behind me and I still don't feel pregnant!!! My bbs are not real sore and even so I take the PIO shots so shouldn't they be sorer (if that's a word...)? Does HCG make your bbs sore or is it the progesterone? I mean my hcg was 4636 on MOnday and my bbs barely hurt at all Sunday and Monday...

OH.... I don't know what I'm talking about!!! It's all so crazy. I just want my babies to stay alive!!!! Can I get over this please!!?!?!??!??!

BW tomorrow... ANOTHER Beta and then u/s Monday. I think if my Beta is really good tomorrow I will start down the more calm road (I pray...)

TTYS,

Cocoa, Well like I said I work in a very small office and my boss, his wife, and his daughter (all work here) are like family to me very good people. So when I started down this road last year with my DH reversal they knew what was going on and when it didn't work they were very upset so when I started talking about doing this my boss thought that it was a great idea. So it started by me telling them because I was going to have to miss a lot of work my clinic is a 45 min drive so I was missing 3 hrs of work a day when I had appointments, next a girl in my office who I am friends with got prgnant and so we were talking and then I told her. There are only 4 other people in my office I didn't really tell them they just kind of picked up on things and my boss is so dam excited he told everybody in a meeting Tuesday morning so if the rest of them didn't know they do now!

The symptoms are coming on because of the hCG our bodies are producing and the other hormones that are going crazy. My bbs are also somewhat sore nothing to bad but other than that I have no symtoms at all. I am trying not to worry about that because I have read that most will start between 4-6 weeks gestational I am only 2 1/2 but it is going to be really hard for me if I don't get some symptoms soon because I don't have my U/S until Sept 18th with no BW in between

Hello guys,
I think i am going to try to hang on to all of my clother as long as i can, because those clother for "in between", when you can't wear your regular clothes anymore and not big enough for maternity are just waiste of money, but i have to admit that i did look at some maternity clothes on line already. :D
Woodcliff, i am amaized that you may be already showing ( twins for sure!!!! )and it is exciting at the same time!!!! I am 5 weeks today and i don't show at all, but then again, i did FET, so i was not bloated.
Oh and i have not told anyone except my parents and my two friends that went through IVF and i am planning on keeping it that way untill 12 weeks.

Vlada, I'm with you...I did something the other day...I'd put together 3 HUGE bags about 2 months ago with my 'fat clothes' (size 12s) and clothes I was tired of wearing (working out with a trainer whittled me down to an 8, although I was only around 8 - 10 pounds less than I am now, go figure)...The bags were still in a closet ...

Although I've only gained around 3 or so pounds since the transfer, I'd put on around 6 or 7 from the meds...all puffy...feel awful and fat...

BUT SO LUCKY...I went through the bags (I'd forgotten I still had them) and took out around 4 pair of pants, 2 suits, my old (I MEAN OLD) Calvin Klein Coat that's quite roomy (I was just tired of it, nothing wrong with the coat, but a typical hand me down from my sister who LOVES clothes, lucky me! Same Size, er, used to be) and several other 'things' ... to tide me over until hopefully at least Late Sept or mid-October.

I agree, I don't want to buy new clothes yet...and I also hear, that with a twin pregnancy (I will know Tuesday) that I'll get huge...and outgrow clothes quickly. I might need bras, though, in a couple of weeks! ;)
OK, I am feeling optimistic just to write that...I'm so worried about seeing heartbeats on Tuesday! Oh I so hope I do...and that they are the "right" size...
Best to you ladies!
