Had egg collection today!

Post by robinsonpr »

Hello again been a while since I posted, was just looking for advice last time.

Went for my egg collection today and they got 17 eggs!!

We're having Blasto - I think that's day 5 or 6?

Any advice on what I should do after transfer? Stay off work in bed or carry on as normal?

Just phoned the clinic and 9 of them fertilised overnight. I was hoping it would be more of them but I guess it's still a good number of potentials? How many have other gals got?

Hi Hayley

I had 19 eggs collected on monday and I had 12 ferts - I have had 2 embies put back today so am now on the dreaded 2ww.

9 ferts is great - as I'm sure you have heard before - it only takes one!
Good luck in getting your BFP!

Hi all, we called the clinic today first thing and they told us to come in for transfer as we had 2 good blastos. Didn't tell us any more than that.

When we got there I was really nervous about the transfer but it wasn't too bad at all really, though the doc was a bit lively with the speculum thing.

The embryologist came and talked to us beforehand, and there were only 2 eggs remaining from the 17 (9 ferts) that had progressed all the way to blasto. Lucky eh. She said they were good quality too. So fingers crossed now for the dreaded 2WW. Blood test next Thurs.

I've got the rest of the week off work and am going to take it easy. Does anybody know when implantation usually happens and are there any symptoms?

Hi - implantation can occur anytime between day 6 and 12 with most common time being days 8 - 10 (so say the experts on-line :) ) Today (tues aug 21st at 7:30pm) I am 8dp5dt with a +++ hpt yesterday and today BUT today I had some pink when I wiped two times in the middle of the afternnon. I have also had cramps (af like) since Sat and a lower backache like af is coming. I did ring the RE and when I told her about the cramping, spotting and backache she IMMEDIATELY said "that's normal" okayyyyyyy.... but it freaked me... soooo....even though the sore bbs are usually caused by the proges. the cramping and maybe a little brownish to pinkish spotting is "normal" eh? Also, I think that spotting can occur a day or two after full implantation because it takes a bit of time for the blood to work its way out of the cervix. Anyway, that's what my ob/gyn said when it happened around this same time with my first oregnancy 14 years ago (you remember things like that when you get freaked out!)

Good luck and lots 'o baby dust!!!!

I have had a few little pains in my stomach and sides last night and this evening. I hope they are implanting ok!!

My fiancee is driving me nuts, he doesn't want me doing ANYTHING for a few days. It's very sweet but I'm so bored as I haven't been out of the house since the transfer on Monday.

Waiting for the blood test next Thursday is driving me mad....

Hi Hayley

I also test next Thursday and the wait is driving me mad too! I'm trying to analyse every single thing I feel! I had 2 grade 1 embies put back on day 3.
I have watched Season 2 and Season 3 of 24 to try and take my mind off things.
Good luck to you! Let me know how you are keeping!

Hi Charlie,

Can I ask you a personal question - are your boobs sore!?!?!!? I haven't really had much in the way of symptoms but mine are quite tender. I don't know if that's just a side effect of taking the progestorone.

I'm very tearful too.

When I was pregnant last year (lost as it was ectopic) I felt sick quite early on but I haven't' felt any nausia at all.

Where are you from? I had it done at Bourne Hall in Cambridge.

Well, it's the big test day tomorrow and I'm so nervous.

I've been really bloated and crampy the last day or two, was convinced I was going to come on today.

Good luck to Charlie and anyone else who's waiting... these 2 weeks have been by far the worst for me. The worrying about having to do injections seems like a distant memory!

well the phone just rang and my DH answered it. When he started screaming and jumping up and down I guessed it was good news and started crying

The nurse apparently sounded quite down so he thought it was negative, but then she whispered that it was positive and he went mad!

My HCG level was 535. The nurse said this was quite high, but too early to draw any conclusion about the number of embies.

I'm so relieved, I hope it all goes well from here. I am going for a scan in 3 weeks to hopefully see where the pregnancy is. I'm worried about getting another ectopic - the doc says there's still a slim chance of this even with ivf. Anyone else heard this?

Good luck to everyone else with getting their BFP!!
