Period Question

Post by thook »

Hello Ladies-

I recently had a wonderful baby girl - she turned 3 months old this past Monday. However, I still haven't received my period... and I stopped pumping/breastfeeding 2 months ago. Does this mean my period is not going to come and I'm going to have to do another FET or IVF cycle? How long did most of you have to wait before you got your period??? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked to see if you are already PG again? Sometimes it is easier to get pregnant once you have already had one baby. If you have not used protection, and you have been sexually active, you might be PG. As for your period returning, it will happen eventually. I am still nursing, but I have not had a period yet either. Your body is still adjusting to the baby being gone and your new lifestyle.

Good luck!

hi tasha-
i think i remember that you had/have PCOS?? did you have regular periods before aubrey? I know that i have never really had regular periods before the kids, and did not get my period till 4-5 months after i stopped nursing, but that was my schedule before i was pregnant (only got a period if taking drugs or once a year or so if i didn't take the drugs).. if you were regular, then do check to see if you are pg... otherwise i think that they say it can take a couple of months for your body adjust..

Colleen- your right I had/have PCOS and was never regular unless I was on the pill or taking something to bring my period on. I was hoping that having Aubrey would make me regular again, but as of right now it doesn't look that way. I'm going to see what happens over the next few months and go from there... we'd really like to start again around this time next year for baby #2.

Thanks Girls-

I just got my first period since Adriana was born (April 5th). She's almost 5 months and I am nursing still. However it was- and still is- really heavy - almost as heavy as after her birth... Didn't expect it coming either. I have been so used to not having one.

Well thank you for all the insight girls... I actually had a little blood yesterday, but I'm not sure if it was my period... I'll wait another few monthd and see what happens. I'd just hate to go back on the pill because then I'll never know if my body reverted back to normal or not.
