Hi, Have been leaving posts throughout my first IVF Cycle this past month. Thank you all for your help and advice. Unfortunately, I didnt make it to my test date and got a negative result.
I am trying to decide on whether to go a second time or not. My situation is. I am 38, my husband is 47. I have slight raised FSH Levels, last count was 10 before I started my treatment. We ended up having IVF with ICSI. My husband has a good sperm count at 169m/ml but low motility. I produced 6 mature eggs and 4 fertilised. I had two grade 2 embryos put back but unfortunately the other two embryos had fragmentation so they were not good enough to freeze.
As it stands now, we will have to go through the process again and yes pay again, around £4,000.00, so I need some advice from you lovely people to see what the statistics are and the outcome of having two cycles versus just the one. Could it be successful next time around knowing that it didnt work first time, even though I had very good embryos put back. Any information would be gratefully received and hopefully assist me in a huge decision I have to make. Thank you in Anticipation.
First cycle they retrieved 8 eggs, 6 fert. 2 emb made it and were poor quality BFN. I was 29 at the time. Dr. said for my age I should have produce a lot more eggs (he was expected in the teens). He said the second time he'd change my medicine (i did not use lupron this time), I used something else (can't remember the name began with a Cip). He was confident it work the second time, said he wouldn't just say that to take our money (which was easy for him to say, 6 grand is probably nothing to him). Took me sometime to convince myself to take out a loan that big, but I convinced myself, I am glad I did. Oh .... 2nd time they retrieved 12 eggs, 7 fertilized, 2 emb made it and were better quality, they were B and B- quality little fragmentation, both were a 3dt. Hugs to you. K

I am 35 and have done icsi twice with the second cycle positive. I could advice you to go for a second try because the doctors in your first cycle could have figured out what went wrong and they try to rectify that in this cycle. Do hope for the best. Ensure you are treated by a resonable person. all the best.
Hi! Me and my husband are 30. In august we tried our 1st ivf, I only did 3 eggs, my doctor did 2 in ivf and 1 icsi. The 2 ivf didn't work and the icsi one did fert. but it wasn't good, so he didn't do any transfer!
He told us to rest for 2 months, so in November we are doing our 2nd icsi, my medicines are going to be change so I can do more eggs, I'm trying to be relax and not to think to much on that, but OMG it's impossible.
We have to look forward and never lose the faith, I cry every day, but I know that 1 day I will be crying of happiness!
So good luck and God bless us all!
