Colleen - I am sorry, but I have been worried ever since you told me Gavin was on Tagement. My younger son was given that at three months of age to help him keep food down during his bout of meningitis. The hospital told us at the time that it could cause infertility in men. They only gave it to hime while he was in the hospital to help reduce the risk of this, but they did tell us it was a possiblity. You should ask your pediatrician about this. My husband normally take this as well and during the two months preceding our treatment and also during it they told him no tagement. I just thought you should know in case your ped did not tell you. I do not know if the effects extend to girls, but we were warned about our youngest's exposure to the high levels during his illness. Good luck otherwise!

Nance - I am so glad to hear you are well. I know what you mean about free time. Now that the boys are in school again, I have found some extra time, but I started class again as well, so now I study during that time. Lily should settle down at around three months. That seems to be the magic age. The ped always tells me that is when alot of babies magically calm down and start being more actively happy.

Kim - You will find a new schedule. I am glad you are able to work part-time though. With two infants, it must be really hard. I have fallen into a schedule with the boys at school now. I get up at 6:00 am, get the boys dressed, feed and send Daniel to the bus stop (he is in middle school now), then I wake up Makayla, feed her and we walk Christian to the elementary school. Once we drop him off, we powerwalk back home and around our lake. Then we take a shower (Makayla and I). I nurse her again and by 9:00 am she goes down for a nap. This is my cleaning/study time because it is her longest nap. Then she wake up around 12:00 and we have lunch together. Around 2:30 pm we pack up and walk to the school to pick up Christian. When we get home, Daniel is there and we make our snacks. Then I spend the next couple of hours pushing the boys to finish their homework and chores. At 4:30 or 5:00 Makayla goes down for another nap and I cook dinner. Dinner is served at 6:00 pm and then we have game time. By 7:00 the boys are taking their showers. Boys go down at 8:30 pm and Makayla goes to sleep around 9:30 - 10:00 pm. The good thing here is she sleeps until about 2:00 - 3:00 am. I can only imagine how you are able to schedule two infants!

Everyone - I hope you are well.

Hello Everyone-

Sorry it has been several days since my last post - for some reason I'm not getting the emails when new posts are posted and it has slipped my mind to check in... I'm so sorry!

Well I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well...

Rachael- sounds like you have a pretty good schedule for your family - things seem to be going pretty smoothly for you, which is great.

Nance- it's great to hear from you... sorry to hear Lily has been fussy for a few weeks now - hopefully it will get better real soon.

Kim- well glad to hear things are going better for you - I hear about the whole being a grown up again. I actually don't mind working - it gives me something to look forward to when I get home. And thankfully my DH has let me keep my cleaning lady - she comes every other weekend so I don't have to worry about that anymore.

CasyP- I hope things are going better for you and that Joshua is sleeping better on his back now.

Colleen- I'm glad to hear things are going better for you as well... and t sounds like Gavin is getting into a schedule which is great. One of these days we'll have to meet up....

Well I'm happy to say that Aubrey is doing great... she is such an angel and I couldn't ever imagine life without her now. She had a wonderful 3 month appointment this past Saturday and is weighing in at 12lbs 11 1/2oz and she is 24 1/2 inches tall. She's getting so big... she has the cutest chunky thighs. She is also getting such a personality now - she laughing and cooing at everything - she actually doesn't spit up or even fuss anymore which is amazing. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful & happy baby.

Well enough about me & Aubrey.... I wish you all the best w/ your little ones!!!!

Tasha

Morning girls,

You all seem to be doing so well. I guess I'm far behind some of you as Joshua is only 3 weeks old.
Thanks for the advice. I have swaddled him, and elevated his mattress and laid him on his side. He and DH are fast asleep at the moment but we only slept 9.30pm-11.30pm and 2am-5.30am! He seems really gassy and wriggles around so much trying to pass wind and is soo noisy!!
I took him to clinic this week and he is now 7lbs 10oz (was 6lb 4oz at birth) so feeding is all worth it! But we have to take him to hospital on Saturday for a jaundice screen and he is still slightly yellow in his eyes. Sure it will be fine, but what with this and screening his kidneys I can just see this little man being trouble!!

Tasha- so glad Aubrey is settled and happy. You can really enjoy her.

Kim- You seem to be juggling work and motherhood so well. Andenjoying it. Good for you and hope the sleep keeps imprving.

Rachel- You seem so organised. Guess you have to be with 3children! Thanks for your advice. Joshua does have to be left a bit during the day as there is so much other stuff to do, but he never seems able to cry himself to sleep. He either falls asleep during a feed, when being cuddle or with the dummy. We'll have to sort it soon tho.

Colleen- Thanks for all your advice. I'll have to look into the pillows for putting either side whilst he's asleep as have never seen them here.

better shoot as the little man is awake and will be hungry

rachael- i loved your wording on the end of you signature.... it is sososososo how i feel.... i love it..but... thanks for the info... is tagament the same as zantac?? i have a call into his peds office...i really hate to, and will not give him something that will cause problems... we need something for the tummy problems... gavin too cry to tears and is in so much pain without meds.. i'll have to talk to the doc about what we can do... maybe i'll go back to gaviscon.. it worked, but not as well.. your schedule sounds great... i'm still waiting for a schedule.... we've started school this week and have had all different schedules... i try to do the same thing every day, but gavin just not want to cooperate... i think he is going to be disorganized... i'mstill trying..

kim- hope that work is going ok... glad that you have your dad watching the kids most of the time... hope that you are amanging well, and that they are sleeping better... your through the night will happen soon... how big are they now?? i heard once that 12lbs is time to sleep through the night.... gavin was way over the 12lbs, but he is just a huge kid.. now i think 15 1/2lbs, and 25 1/2 inches... he is growing so fast!! he is my biggest baby...

nance- hope that lily has calmed a bit, and doing well... how is she sleeping??

tasha- glad to hear thataubrey is doing so well... i love chunky thighs... and everything chunky... i saw a baby oneis that said " i make chunky thighs look good" they had a few really cut ones.... moslty for girls... the boys were just like future troublemaker and stuff like that.... we will have to meet up... i sent you my e-mail?? right?? if not i'll send you my e-mail, or you can send me yours... but we should get the little ones together, they are only one day apart!!

casy... hope that joshua is getting better.. glad that he is getting bigger and feeding well hope that his screen goes well on saturday... this is what i used for our last DS. it really helped

Well I just posted some new pictures of the gang. I hope you all enjoy.

As for being organized, it is more like the kids organized it. It seems to be how they like it. I did not do anything to make it that way, it just happened. Trust me it is often like chaos on schedule. Makayla is often difficult, although today she has been like someone elses baby! Her ped called two days ago and told us her bloodwork came up positive for lactose intolerance and a peanut allergy. So I am no longer allowed to have my blessed Reeses and I also lose the milk. Since I have stopped eating anything dairy or peanut related, she has been steadily improving again. In fact, she slept for 6 hours last night and I was shocked!

Colleen - I do not know about most of those other medications, only the Tagement because that was what the drs had Christian on. Ask you ped because they would know what is best. As for the cow saying, it is a joke between me and my hubby since I nursed my first one. It comes from the addage, "Why buy the cow if you get the milk for free?"

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Girls,

I just have a little time, but I had to let you know...THEY SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT LAST NIGHT!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

We took a walk around 8ish, took a bath around 9:30. Fed around 10:15 or so. They were in bed by 11. THen they didn't get up until 8 am!!!! I do think Braeden was up around 6:00 for a while cooing, but he didn't fuss, so I didn't get out of bed. So, I think he fell back asleep for a while, but we were so excited that they did it! Now, we'll have to see how they do tonight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they go at least 7 hours. We'll see. Wish us luck!

Girls,

I was just realizing....it was about a year ago that DH and I started to go through IVF treatment. Isn't it crazy how much your lives can change in a year? Miracles!!!

hi girls... just a quick hello... hope that you are all doing well, and your babies are doing great and getting big!!!

kim- I'm so happy for you!!!!!! are the babies sleeping better, and continuing to sleep through the night?? we still have nights here and there that Gavin wakes up, i try not to feed him, but sometimes he wants nothing else... he's not one to get himself to sleep if he is crying... i need to put him down when he's awake, but just not crying!!

rachael- i'm asking his dr on friday about the zantac.... sorry to hear that makayla has the allergys andlactose intol.. i hope that she continues to sleep better for you, and you'll get more sleep... but sorry that you can not eat dairy or peanuts..

we are doing good... but Gavin hates tummy time now, he screems on his tummy, and will not roll over (he will a few times, but sometimes he'll just screem there)... who knows.... we got his 3 months pictures taken.. i'll have to post later... maybe tomorrow...

hi to all.... have a great night, and many sleepy babies

Kim - I pray your babes sleep well from now on. I am so happy you have found a system that works for you.

Colleen - It is hard to believe it has been three months already. Gavin is such a handsome monkey. I am sure his pictures were perfect. Good luck with the medications. I know how you feel when it comes to these things. I worry constantly about what the risks are, however, when faced with the Tagament one, the other otion was he could starve to death while attemping to fight off menegitis. It was a no brainer!

Jeck - I am still hoping your angel comes home soon. I pray daily for you!

We are doing well. Makayla seems to be doing 100% better now that I am off dairy and nuts. I miss my PB&J but she is doing so much better. Even her stools have finally become normal. They have not been normal since she was born and I was beginning to believe it was always going to be that way. She is now almost consistantly sleeping 6 hours at night as well as 3 hours right after she feeds. This means I am only up for about 15-20 minutes between those shifts. It works well for me cause I am able to sleep 8 hours (I have trouble falling asleep at first). We have an appointment tomorrow to check on her tummy. Maybe they can cut her meds down now that she is doing so much better.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Good Morning Girls...

I can't believe how time is flying by for all of us... I remember at this time last year we were all starting our IVF processes - and now look at us. Now we all have wonderful baby's.... that are getting so big.

Colleen- we also went for our 3 month pictures a few weeks back - I'm going to pick them up this weekend at JC Penney. I can't wait to see the final product... Aubrey was so good - so smiled when she was supposed to smile and she was serious when she was supposed to be serious....

Kim- how are the baby's doing? Still sleeping through the night for you? Pam & I chat about you from time to time... I got to meet her boyfriend yesterday - he came into work for a BBQ. What a cutie.... I'm so happy for her.

Rachael- I'm so happy that Makayla is doing so much better for you... and that your finally getting some sleep. Hopefully she keeps up the good work.

Anyone hear from Cowgirl?

Well we're doing well... still battling with a small case of diaper rash that won't go away. I'm wondering if Aubrey might be allergic to her diapers? Anyone experience this?

Chat w/ you soon...

Hey gals,

Yeah! We're still sleeping through the night! Last night they went to bed around 11 and we got up at 7..... :D :D :D :D :D

Racheal, I'm so glad Makayla is doing better. I am actually lactose intolerant. So I feel her pain!

Colleen...I know what you mean about tummy time. Braeden used to roll over, but not anymore. I think it's because his head has gotten a lot heavier, and he's put on more weight. When he was a munchkin, he was a lot easier to heave over!

Tasha--Have you ever tried BUTT PASTE? It's supposed to work miracles. My kiddos don't seem to have trouble with the rash, but a friend recommended the paste if they do. I don't like the smell of it compared to Desitin or A/D, but it might be worth a try. I'm glad you liked pam's fella. I have to wonder if he might be the one?????

Gotta run. Have to be to work soon.

Just a quick one Makayla is crying...

Tasha - YES!!!! All three of my kids are allergic the something in the pampers brand diapers. They get rashes from them within minutes of putting them on them. I tried with each one and all three had the same reaction. So I just use Huggies. In fact, I had to bring diapers to the hospital because they only used pampers and she was breaking out. They tried to tell me it was just normal newborn rash, but I knew better by then. Good luck!

Rachael- thanks for the tips on diapers... actually I switched her last week to Luvs, but the rash hasn't gone away - I'm thinking of trying Huggies tonight - I'm low on diapers so I might as well give them a shot. I'm just confused because she was using Pampers diapers for the first 2 months and nothing - now all of a sudden she has diaper rash so I don't even know if that is the cause... but we'll see.
