Hey all- I hope everyone is well. I have my 11 week doctor's appointment tomorrow- am hoping to hear the baby's heartbeat. I ordered a doppler for home use, but it hasn't arrived yet. I am anxious to hear it to make sure things are going well. I have been experiencing a new weird pain- I think it's round ligament pain. It is a sharp, stabbing pain on both sides of my abdomen near where my ovaries are, it lasts for about 10-20 seconds, and it has happened three times. Once when I rolled over in bed during the night, once when I was lying on my back and coughed, and once when I stood up from being in a child size chair. It REALLY hurts, but I'm pretty sure it's the round ligament. I am going to ask my Dr. tomorrow. Has anyone else had this?
Jen, I've had some pain on my sides, but mine may be due the cysts that I have on my ovaries.
My dr's office called today regarding my blood work. They said my iron was a few points low and to start taking iron supplements along with my vitamins. Have any of you had this problem? Do you know if this would have caused any problems with the baby at this point in the pregnancy? I know that low iron can make you more tired than usual, and that I have been, but assumed it was all due to pregnancy.
I told my principal yesterday that I was pregnant, and then swore him to secrecy. He was very supportive and excited for me. It just seemed so wierd to hear the words "I'm pregnant" come out of my mouth. It still doesn't seem real to me. I felt that I should tell him just in case one of my students asks in the middle of class if I am pregnant (due to the enlarging belly). I wanted to give him a heads up. This actually happened to another teacher I worked with. She had not told anyone, and then one day, one student just up and asked her out loud if she was pregnant.
I have three more weeks til next ultrasound. It has been two wks already, and I'm about to go crazy.
How is everyone? We haven't heard from Brandi (carebear110b) in a while.

I have same ligament pains. My started when I was about 6 wks. Still to this day today I am having them. Especially when I am lying down and I turn. It feels like someone is streching me. So it is very normal. It just means that your uterus is growing.
But since 3 days ago I have had a bad hip and groin pain on right side. It really bothers me especially at night. I can not get comfortable. I wonder if it is cytic nerve or pinched nerve and maybe even from Progesterone shots that I stopped two weeks ago.
Any suggestions?
Also anyone had a lot of whitish yellowish vaginal dc but with out burning or itching? I think it is normal?
Sorry I have a lot of ?'s. Is it ok to sleep on your belly? Because I am stomach sleeper and I was wondering if it is safe?
I need some reassurance.
The breast tenderness is gone. What little weight I have gained, is now gone (I had no nausea/vomiting). My pants don't fit as tight as they did. I've read too much about missed miscarriages. Am I crazy, paranoid, over-sensitive, or all of the above? I called the dr's office today and spoke with a nurse and she seemed to think everything would be ok since I had no spotting/cramping/etc, but with a missed miscarriage, I don't think you have any of those signs. She told me I must not be eating enough, but I've been eating more than before. I've been worrying about it and dreaming that there is something wrong. I know stress can cause harm, but I just can't stop.
Any wisdom that any of you ladies have would be much appreciated.
Tajma - I don't know about the discharge either. I am on Crinone progesterone cream, so I seem to have a constant discharge from that. I don't know if there is anything else coming out. I don't know about stomach sleeping either. I know that once you get further along, you shouldn't sleep on your back, which I tend to do. I have been trying to not do it, but everytime I wake up, I'm on my back. Anyone have any suggestions on that?

Try not to worry. I had the same feelings on my first pregnancy. You will go through times that you do not "feel" pregnant and this time around I am trying to enjoy those times instead of worrying. I understand why you are feeling the way you do, but I believe that you would have to have some kind of sign if something was wrong. If you can, to reassure yourself, try to get in to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler or a scan. Rest assured all is a-ok.
Tajma,
Discharge is normal. I am not sure why it happens, but it is completely normal. I tend to sleep with a pillow between my legs on my side.
Very comfortable. You will find that at a certain point you will not be able to do tummy sleep.
Take Care,

Tajma- I am also having the discharge- I think it is completely normal. Mine is sort of thin in consistency.
Kerri- I agree, I think it's normal to have the symptoms come and go. Last week I had so much energy- I wasn't tired at all and I was worried, too. But we heard the heartbeat yesterday and the tiredness has come back, so try not to worry. Or ask to listen to the heartbeat at your doctor.
I hope everyone is doing well. I seem to be experiencing some of the same symptoms as a lot of you.
Jeneden - I have had those sharp pains in my ovaries off and on since my transfer. I would get them when I was getting up to get out of bed or sometimes turning over while sleeping. I thought it was just due to my ovaries still being swollen from the egg retrieval surgery. But my girlfriend told me to prepare for all sorts of wierd little pains - I'm trying not to let it bother me.
Tajma - it is funny you mention the hip/groin pain. I noticed similar pain yesterday. I thought it was just from being so inactive. My morning/all-day sickness seems to be getting a little better, so I took a walk this afternoon and did some stretches and I seem to feel a little better. I have a girlfriend who is due in a couple weeks and she said her hips are just killing her. I have a feeling it is just going to get worse. As far as sleeping on your stomach, in one of my books, it said it is fine. They said it will become uncomfortable for you first before it would ever hurt the baby. I'm a stomach sleeper too - I think I'm going to get one of those body pillows. I guess you kind of throw yourself over it and it is almost like sleeping on your stomach.
I had my first trimester visit yesterday, thankfully all went well. They did a quick ultrasound just to confirm heartbeat on both babies. They had a hard time finding Twin B at first and I of course was in a panic, but then the little peanut moved into the frame. Twin B is at a wierd angle and I remember my other doctor having a hard time measuring.
I asked my doctor about that special scan where they look for downs syndrome and he said I can have one done if I want, but he usually doesn't do them. He told me that the the scan is meant to be done in conjunction with a blood test and with twins, it makes the test very inaccurate. I thought it was standard practice these days. Are all of you having them done?
The only bad thing that came out of the visit is that I have a urinary tract infection. I kind of knew something felt a little funny (kind of achy) for the past few weeks, but I just thought it was everything growing because it wasn't the typical burning all the time. They told me that I could take Uristat over the weekend to help with the syptoms and that the results of my culture would be back on Tuesday and they would then prescribe an antibiotic. After reading on the internet, I'm now freaking out that it has turned into a kidney infection, but my mom told me I would be in extreme pain and I feel fine. I'm going to try not to think about it and just wait until I get the antibiotics on Tuesday. Has anyone else had a UT infection? I guess they are common during the first trimester.
I am glad everyone is doing great. I still have a lot of hip/groin/leg pain. I did all kind of things but it did not help. So I asked my midwife about it and she said that it was probably ligaments pulling from uterus streching so it causing leg pain. Hopefully it will get bettter but as I get heavier and bigger it is only going to make it worse.
How is everyone else? I can not wait until 20 wks to find out what sex? I really want to start doing my nursery?
Hi All
well today is a very happy day for me today, firstly ive finally reached my 12 weeks...this has been a long time coming and im sooo happy its finally here, secondly its my birthday today and have been given loads of chocolates
I too have been getting sharp pains around my overies, esp when i move quickly or get upafter laying down,,,but feel reasured that im not the only one having them.
I have my nuchal scan next monday, which im looking forward too, as i get to see the babies again.
We had all our families here yesterday for my birthday dinner and we told everyone about our bfp!! it was so nice to be able to talk about it it finally felt so real...i can honestly say ive never been happier
Hi All,
Those sharp pains we are all having are round ligament pains. My doctor explained it to me- there are two long ligaments that run vertically on either side of the uterus and since the uterus is expanding, the ligaments are stretching. The other day I squatted down and then stood up and the pain was searing!!! He said they are nothing to worry about. They should go away within a minute or two, but unfortunately can last the whole pregnancy.
Hope everyone is well. Happy Birthday Laurie!!!!! It's Labor Day here in America, so most of us have the day off. My children come tomorrow for the first day- I am alternately looking forward to it and dreading it. I hope this school year goes by fast- at least for me, I get to end my year early!!!
Had my 12-week appt. today and all is well. My next scan will be at 18 weeks. It took awhile to find the baby on the Doppler, but then she found it - 150 bpm. I'm looking foward to getting some energy back. I haven't gained much weight yet, but feel my belly beginning to rise.
How is everyone else doing?

I hope everyone is doing well. Laurie, I hope you had a great birthday on Monday. I too have finally reached the 12 week mark. I am also finally off the crinone! We have started telling people. When people ask how far along, and I say 12 wks, they sure are suprised! I'm glad people know. I was tired of trying to dress to hide the bulge in my belly. I had been afraid that a student would ask in the middle of class if I was pregnant. Funny thing though, prior to my telling my students, one of them asked another teacher in the middle of her class if she was pregnant. She is not! Sher, I havn't gained but about 1 and a half pounds, but my pants are too tight to fasten. I don't go to the Dr. until wk 14. The waiting is killing me.
Any suggestions on what to do for constipation? Since my doc put me on extra iron, it has started to happen.
Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary. It will be eleven years for DH and me.

Congrats on reaching the 12 week mark and for your anniversary. Two reasons to celebrate this week! Too bad your toast will have to be with sparkling grape juice.
Constipation is quite common with iron tabs. I had it with my first pregnancy. I am not sure if there is much you can do about it, maybe call your OB for advice.
We have been telling our friends also. To be honest, they seemed much more shocked with the first and almost expecting us to have another. Our daughter is now 19 months old and such a god send. I look forward to seeing her reaction to our new addition.

I am glad you guys are doing great. I am going to be 15wks this Monday so I am a little nervous and scared because last year at the same time when I went to doctors we had u/s and baby had died. So I am walking on needles now until I go in week and a half to see my midwife and hear baby's heartbeat.
Kerribell, For constipation my midwife told me to eat dried plums and that helped me a lot. I think once I passed 14wks constipation was better.
How is everyone else on board. We have not heard from anyone in a while.
I got sick four times on my way into work today. This is awful. I thought things would get better after 12 weeks and I am feeling worse! Just had to vent since I am feeling soo crappy today.
