Hi Everyone,

Can I just ask everyone who took baby asprin through their treatment, did you stop when you got a positive result or did you carry on taking it for a while?

Thanks

Sharon G XXXXXXXXXXXXX

PS: Sorry what about your pesseries too?

[Edited by sharon on 21-Aug-03 05:56]
Hi Sharon

I was taking it for about 5 weeks when I found out I was pregnant but because I had spotting as well I was then advised not to take them and then they advised I didn't need to use the pessaries. The only thing that I was taking was Folic Acid and I stopped that when I got to my 12 weeks.

Love
Shell.
18 wks pg
xx
Sorry to but in on this one, but Shell, you say you stopped with the Folic Acid at 12 weeks - do you have to or was that out of choice. im 13 weeks now and still taking it (although have missed a couple of days as memory has gone!). Is it bad to carry on taking it?

Love

Rachel
x
Hiya Sharon,
I am still taking asprin and I am 29 weeks tomorrow! (doctors orders!)
Plus I carried on with the pessaries until the end of the first trimester (13 weeks).
Hi Rachel,
I took Folic acid for about 16 weeks in the end as I had some left in the jar and the consultant said it wouldn't hurt to continue with them until they were used up!
Hope this helps!
Lots of love
Kirsty
x
TTC for 7 yrs (have severe endo and pcos and hubby has v low sperm) until became pg after ICSI cycle last feb. Now am the lucky mother of perfect little boy called Joshua born last october.
I stopped pessaries at 10.5 weeks - that is my clinic and they are doing this with all now??!!!
Aspirin - still on them and staying on them until 35 weeks I think.
I am not on separate folic acid - I take it with my pronatal and am continuing to take pronatal throughout pg as they said it does no harm - the extra folic acid will do no harm anyway.
Hope this doesn't confuse issues
Love
Tracey
xxx

Hi, I took baby asprin for the month prior to egg collection, during the 2ww and then when I got a positive I started reducing it to half dose for a couple of weeks and gradually faded it out altogether by 12wks. I was not taking it on drs advice - just one of those desparate measures to see if it worked - I'm convinced it did the trick. Theres been some worry about asprin and miscarriage but I think thats regular dose asprin not low dose. Took pessaries for 4wks after positive and am still taking Folic acid in a multivitamin (pregnacare) as I'm breastfeeding. Folic acid is a water soluble vitamin and therefore doesn't build up in your body, so excess is just removed naturally so it shouldn't be a problem however the advice is take it for the first 12wks then any supplement should only be taken on advice of dr.
love wendy xxx

Dear Sharon,

I am still on aspirin 75mg / day and I'm nearly 20 weeks. My clinic said to stop around 30 weeks. Like the others, I stopped my folic acid around 12 weeks, but taking it longer won't do you any harm.

Alison x
Hi Sharon

My clinic advised me that I didn't need to take it once I had reached my 12 week mark so I didn't take it. I did take it while I was having all the tmt because they said I no longer needed to take it I stopped. The thing is though it doesn't do any harm to the baby, but in the 1st 12 weeks this is when we have to take it because of the devolping of the babies bones.

Love
Shell.
xx
