Morning

Post by hopeful01 »

Although I've not read everything, you ladies have a good thing going. A dear friend of mine found this site and registered for me in hopes that I would find a group of girls that I could relate to. So...I hope I'm posting this right. I've laughed and smiled at several of your postings.

I'm from Arkansas. Just finished my 5th IVF cycle & will be tested on Monday for pg. I started spotting dark brown stuff yesterday. It's been a long, tough journey. I am numb from going through this now.

Anyway...I have no humor to add today. Just wanted to say hi. I hope the sunshine is bright where you are. :)

hopeful--Welcome! The 2ww is the worst, huh? And 5 times? You are a freakin' pro! I'm praying this is the one.

Fee--So sorry about your MIL. Cancer is so f'ing unfair. Hope you have a very happy birthday. How have you been feeling?

Sassy--I can not believe the nerve of your bil. It just keeps getting crazier and crazier. What a pain in the ass. So sorry. But thanks for keeping us entertained!

We're going to my parent's house for the weekend. My dh is sort of freaking out because it's a 3 hour trip and he thinks since it's Labor Day weekend that I'm destined to go into labor. But I'm not missing my family reunion. He's sort of finally realized that we're having a baby. I'm pretty sure I lost my mucus plug the other night (sorry, gross, I know) and anyway he's freaking out. If this is any indication, he is going to be useless to me during the delivery. I'll just have to rely on my friend Mr. Epidural!

Well, off to work! Only 2 more weeks working (8 actual days at work!) Not that I'm counting....

Hey ladies...

Angie: bummer the cops weren't cute. Weren't you the one with the IT guy we went on and on about monts ago? At least they showed up to fingerprint... like an episode of CSI: Down Under. Since your cops down there are actually doing something... mind sending them my way????

Fee: so sorry to hear of MIL back in hospital. this sucks. I'm hoping the infection resolves soon so she can finish her last round. Thanks for the heads up on Aunty... i knew she had a biopsy.... will email her.

Mego: nope, tell dh no worries... see you won't be having the baby til the 17th! Hope you have a great long weekend!

Hopeful: welcome to the thread... a motley crew for sure! Wishing you all the best for Monday's beta!

No real update on The *******... i know, I know.. and he has been so entertaining of late. No, currently the drama is with C.itibank who is refusing to give us back several thousands of dollars that was transferred out of our bank acct. Good think dh is a trial attorney.

Hello to everyone. May be MIA for the next few days... we will be driving down the Oregon and California coasts.

ciao!

Wow. Sassy sure knows how to bring the conversation here to a screeching halt! . I imagine everyone is out enjoying their weekend-- and a holiday one at that here in the US of A.

Cheers.

In the immortal words of Billy Idol...

Oh posting with myself
Oh posting with myself
Well theres nothing to lose
And theres nothing to prove
So I'll be posting with myself.

I look all over the world
And see every type of girl
But the empty thread
Seems to mess with my head
And leaves me posting with myself.

Oh posting with myself
Oh posting with myself
If I had the sway
I'd get the sistas to stay
And not be posting with myself
oh, oh... oh oh

*Hope you enjoy, I couldn't help myself

Hello Ladies. I must say that I have been reading...everyday...just lurking...not much time to write anything lately. You guys sure have been full of entertainment though.

Meg- I am going to predict that you will be delivering a healthy (can't remember if it's a boy or a girl and if it has a name. Please refresh my memory) on September 5. Not sure why, just thought that sounded like a good date. I must say that they day I lost my mucus plug, I delivered my sweet daughter. So, hurry up, we anxious to see pictures of your litle one.

Sassy- Your sagga continues. I don't know how you can be so calm about everything. I would completely go insane. Of course being as broke as I am, noone would want to steal our identities.
I must say that BIL is awfully smart. The things that he has done....I would never have thought about half that stuff

Hopeful1- Welcome. You have come to the best thread on this whole web site. These women are the best. They can make you laugh and cry all at the same time. They are so ultra supportive. We areso lucky to have them.
I will be anxious to hear your results tomorrow. I am sure it has been a long 2 weeks. Just remember dark brown spotting is not a bad sign.

Fee- Happy Birthday
I hope you and dh are able to celebrate your birthday in a special way.
I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. I am hopeful that she has a good week next week.

As for me, school has begun. I am a little stressed over the work I have cut out for myself this year.
I asked the kids to underline the title of our story for the week. We had already discussed where the title would be...might be a little tricky. However, the kids just sat and looked at me. Finally someone raised their hand and admitted the didn't know what underline meant. These are third graders who must pass a HARD state mandated reading test in March. URG!!!
I can do it :?
Hello to all the other ladies. I must run try to get my dd down for her nap. I will try to post more often.

Hellooo

Well it seems that you US ladies have yet another long weekend. I am very jealous!

Welcome Hopeful! this is an excellent place to be, especially if you don't always feel like dealing with this IVF rubbish in the most graceful manner. Sorry to hear about the spotting, that is always an unwelcome sight. You are a true champ after 5 cycles...good luck with your test on Monday (already Monday in Oz today) I really hope it is a BFP for you. So tell us a bit more about you. It is our sisterly duty to give you a nickname as soon as possible and we need some background in order to come up with somehthing appropriate...(although you don't need to identify yourself..Sassy's BIL may manage to steal your identity if you do that!)

Mego, am feeling pretty good, the iron tabs seem to being doing the trick. Spent the weekend worrying about Nogs as he wasn't moving around much but he seems to be back in fighting form thank goodness...and you have lost the mucous plug huh? I'm not exactly sure what that means but I think it means we are definately getting to the business end of the pregnancy. I laughed about your DH. I think mine is in denial as well. Mostly from just not wating to get hopes up in case something goes wrong. I imagine that we will be quite suprised if we actually manage to have a baby out of all this!

Sass, so you're having trouble with the banks now eh??? I feel your pain. Once i transferred $13,000 of a client's money into the wrong account and the person who got it stole it. Well actually, if the bank had put the money into the acocunt # that I gave them they would have found that the account # did not exist and returned the money to me. But no no the bank decided to change another number to make it fit into an existing account. The delighted recipient promptly took off on a dream holiday and the bank took no responsibility. Long story short I ended up haivng to press criminal charges against the delighted recipient who had to pay restitution over an extended period of time....Good luck with the bank, I hope they are nicer to you than they were to me!!

Robbo, great to have you back and thanks for your big purple happy birthday. I had a good day (largely becasue of the apple pie that I ate). MIL is improving so that helped as well...and as far as your third graders go, I think you do have your work cut out for you...poor little things...do they still write in pencil at that age? I was the last person in my class to be allowed to use a pen. How humiliating. Still not over it.

Angie, sounds like there is some sort of hormonal activity going on there??? That is very interesting. Keep us posted cos I will want to be getting on those herbs after Nogs is born. I can't believe you are off in a couple of days, you are going to love it. I really liked Utah it was very pretty with lots of mountains. And New York, freaking fabulous....
Thanks for the Happy Birthday. I am still waiting for present from DH because he had no time to shop due to MIL. I did however wreck our fridge on the weekend, just what we damned well need. I wonder if I can get a new one for my birthday. Unromantic but I would love a fancy one...

Well best be off, my boss is bored and very annoying today, he is constantly in my office and interrupting my internet time, bloody hell.

Fee

Hi Fee- have you seen those ever so funky retro fridges - they are all sorts of funky colours - they look great - I was thinking about one for our new kitchen but even tho' I like to think of myself as pretty funky at times (!) I expect I will go for a normal stainless steele one like everyone else. Glad Nogs is back on form and keeping you on your toes!

I will have to keep the boxes of my "magic" herbs as I will never remember the names - they are called things like Xiang Pang Mauo and Chaing Zing Shen Wan - that reminds - have forgotten to take the little blighters again!

Oh and I don't think I told you - but new Dr wants me to do a Day 2 test (when I get back in Oct) but I have to be off the CHinese herbs for at least 2 -3 weeks as apparently the herbs have estrogen in them and it interferes with the result - honestly the whole process is crazy!

Robbo: fab to read you again!!

Fee: sorry  spaced your bday. Hope you had a great weekend.

Angie: I realized I never addressed the questions you asked me. To be honest... with everything going on... and my us being just after my friend's funeral... I just did what Dr. D told me and didn't ask any questions which is very unlike me. I'm guessing (and this is only a guess), that the "cyst" initially was a follicle with an egg in it that was sort of kind of developing at the beginning of my canceled cycle. That's why he wanted me to ovulate it--- it was producing estrogen and it was day 18 or so of my cycle. So I needed to ovulate and have a period if I am to start again in 10 days. Not sure, but I think that is what he told me. 2 days until you grace our shores??? I will be interested to hear all about it.

What is a day two test?? I'm sure I've been told before but I've forgotten.

Sass, don't worry about my birthday, If I had my way I'd let it slip quietly by and pretend that I am not another damned year older....R u still coming to Australia Sass???

My but this arvo is dragging by...

Fee--How exactly does one break a fridge? That's really impressive. The best I've managed is to totally empty mine :) I love those retro fridges, but am afraid that one would get tired of it fairly quickly. Plus, I don't think my dh is going to go for a pink fridge! I'm glad you're feeling better--and I hear you on the lack of movement. Those little buggers like to scare us, huh? Yeah, I'm hoping when I go in tomorrow to see the doctor that I'll have made some progress. I am ready to have this baby. Although I get a little freaked out when I realize that I am actually going to have go go through labor in order to meet her. Happy late birthday.

Angie--I echo Fee, what is a 2 day test? And I hope you have a great freakin' time here in the States. Enjoy yourself! I love to travel. And those few days before you leave on vacation are always great---knowing that you will soon be away from the everyday of life. Sigh. I'm jealous!

Hope all of you have a fab Labor day. I'm here at work. Sigh again. Only 8 more days until I'm retired, though!

Hello - well Chinese dr lady said she is 99% I will get AF by the end of the week - I like her confidence! Watch this space.

Day 2 is things like FSH, DHEA (not sure what this ) thyroid, glucose, insulin to check for PCOS - nothing very exciting - quite a standard one which is often checked over and over so I'm happy to have another - except that if Chinese lady's predictions are true Day 2 will be next week when I am away!

So - almost finished - tomorrow we will be on the plane - yippee. Will try and log-in from time to time. Meggo - now you just hold off giving birth until 20th like I said. But definitely no action next week please as I won't be online and I don't want to miss out on all the fun!

Adios sistas.

Bon Voyage Angie. If you are going to be online in the US can you give us some updates of your trip? Its just that I'm not quite jealous enough and I need you to really rub it in!

Mego, Breaking a frige is apparently quite easy, I did it without even knowing until the following morning. This is the sequence of events. On Saturday night DH slaved over a stew which he was cooking for his parents. I think it took him over four hours to make. Anyhoo, he was plum tuckered out from the effort and fell asleep before he put the pot away. I ever so helpfully decided to assist and put the pot in the fridge. It would appear that the pot must have still been quite hot. I had put it on a glass shelf and at some stage that night it went crashing through that and some others....luckily the stew was still OK. In addition to shattering glass shelves I think the heat from the pot must have also done something to the workings of the fridge because it keeps "urinating" on my floor (sorry that's the only way I can describe what's happening here). Oh well its a horrible fridge anyway. I will be on the lookout for a pink one...

I also have an appt with OB today. Fingers crossed that all is still well for both of us!

Where are the other sisters? Nursing a Labour Day hangover perhaps???

Fee--That is quite impressive. Don't you hate when you are trying to do the right thing, but it just goes terribly wrong. It happens to me a lot. Hope your OB visit goes well....do you get to see Noggin today, or just hear the heartbeat?
Let us know how it went.

Angie--Safe travels! Definitely keep us updated whenever you can and have a freakin' blast! I'll try to hold her in until the 20th, but no promises...

I'm off to bed---not that I sleep anymore but I figure I might as well lay there and pretend to!
