Sorry for MIA! Had a busy few days. Went down to London to see my family Fri/Sat and then had a Christening on sunday. Just go, go, go!
Only new news from me is that Charlie took a few "solo" steps at the weekend!

Tracii - at this christening (the service itself was just 30 mins) Charlie was ALL over the place. Well at least he was trying to. It gave us a taste of what our plane journey may be like and we didn't particularly like it?! If you can, ask for the front seats as then Isabella will have room to sit/stand in front of you (although SOME airlines won't give you these seats). If not try to have the last seat before the emergency exit (you can't actually have an emergency exit seat due to health and safety). We did this with our hols in Feb and we found it meant that Charlie could stand behind our seats and was less intrusive of other passenegers as there was so much more room. There is nothing worse than having someone in front and behind. We have always asked for the very 2 back seats (prior to Charlie!) for the same reason - we found we could then stand behind our own seats to stretch our legs and not be in anyones way. Hope you have a nice time!

Julie - sorry to hear about work. Hope you get good news soon.

Re: parties - I think we've decided with the child's place. We have a soft toy play area near us that do parties. I just think otherwise it's twice as much work for me! Also with having a winter birthday it's unlikely we can use the garden and I don't have that much room in my lounge to accommodate friends, family and children!!!!!!

Right - must dash! Have a good week!

Wow!!! finally get some time to post... We have just moved into a new house (yes..house...hooray!). It has been hectic, but now we have settled in it's great. It even has a swimming pool ( too cold for that yet though...).

Cla - how upsetting about your poor cat. DH and I are big cat lovers, and have lost 2 over the last 5 years or so. Also ver old, but no less upsetting. We have a great cat now that my parents have been catsitting since Lulu was 3 months old...too hard to keep her clean. We are getting her back next week and I can't wait. Lucy LOVES cats, and anytime you call "sunny" (the cat next door), she goes crazy making "oooh oooh" noises. It's adorable and very funny.

Kristi - I know you posted this a long time ago, but about siging, a friend of mine has a hearing imparied neice, so instead of baby signing, she taught her first bub 'regular' sign language (bit by bit). That way she thought it taught her a practical skill for life. She is nearly 2 now, and knows signs for bird, sleep, windy, sunny etc. Little kiddy words. I sometimes do it with Lulu when I am reading to her. If you go to a hearing impaired website, often you can join for free and they have all the info on the signs for words there.

Tracii - that books sounds great, I will definitely give a read. Also, a great book on getting through all the ups and downs of motherhood is "buddhism for Mothers". Also, about your trip....I am in the same boat. We are off to Hong Kong in a week, and I don't know how to keep my hyperactive child amused for 10 hours. Lots of people have told me about a mild baby sedative called "finnergin (sp.)". I'm going to the dr the week to ask about it. Don't cancel your trip though - once you get through this, then Isabella will be able to travel the world with you and DH without you worrying about how she will go.

Madiva - a walker!!! wow!! how exciting for you. It must have made you smile when he started. We have friends who had babies on or around the same day as Lucy, so we have to try and slot in a party for her on one of the days. As we are in a new house, we are having it at home. I can't wait!

Julie - so sorry about the worries with your job. When will you know for sure?

The latest with Lucy is she is crawling everywhere still, climbing on everything and walking around holding on to anything she can (walls, furniture, the backs of our legs.) It is very hard to do anything, because if you stop for a second, she climbs on you!!! She has also started to love the rocking horse - it's really cute. She knows how to hold on and just smiles so much when we rock her on it.

I'm glad I finally got to catch up with you all. I hope everyone is doing well. Will have a look at the pics and try and post some of Lucy from her christening.

Hi all!

Bella - great to hear from you! Lucy sounds like she's coming on leaps and bounds! Aren't they so enjoyable at this age!

KristiA - Great piccie of the twins on photobucket!

Tracii - I know you are away but not sure if you're managing to look in sometimes? How was the flight? That photo on photobucket is HILARIOUS!!!

Julie - Any work news?

Sue E - how you doing? Is the PND getting better?

Madiva - How's Colin? I bet he's really fast on his legs now!!!

Does anyone ever hear from Charlie? If you're lurking send us a quick post and let us know how you're getting on!!!

Not much new news from me! Started swimming lessons with Charlie last week - had a ball! Although I think an hour is perhaps 15 mins too long (I know I'm knackered at the end!!!). It's a nice small class of around 8 children - Charlie is the youngest but I don't think it hindered him in any way! I've been trying to get some updated piccies of him, but he never sits still long enough for me to get a decent shot!!! Will try again and post a new one!

Sorry this is short and sweet! Hope all is well!

Hello everyone! It's so fun to read everyone's updates.

We're having their 1st b-day party here at my house. I bought all the decorations and sent out invites. It's 2 weeks from tomorrow. I am taking them to get their 1st pictures taken too.

The boys have started rejecting some baby food and are quickly starting to eat just about anything I'll give them. That just happened almost instantly without me really planning on it.

I'm still BFing twice a day. I'm kind of thinking I'll try to stop in the next couple of weeks.

We're taking another plane ride with them next week. Going to visit my husband's family. As always, each time we fly I get nervous about how they will act on the plane.

Sorry, no time for personals this time. Glad you are all doing well though!

Hi All - we made it ! The plane ride...well it was very difficult but we survived. On the way over to US - Isabella did not sleep at all! She was up for 18 hours...it was really long and tiring..my nerves were completely shot. Returning to Europe she slept for only 3 hours..needless to say last night she slept 18! We are still recovering from jetlag. She also got her top teeth on the flight over

We had a great time with the parents and my sister's family. I got a little break from watching Isabella 24/7...but she was really fantastic the entire trip and wowed everyone.

Hi all,

Just a quick post as i should be in bed, as i should be getting up in just over 2 hours!!!!!!!!!

How is everyone? Is everyone having 1st birthday parties? We havent got a clue what to do, may just fill the living room with helium balloon, as she loves them, especially the metalic ones.

I'm slowly getting better and have managed to get back to work, but everything still up in the air but i know i will get there, may take a while but i'm too stubborn to give up!!!!!!

Jess is doing well and stood up on her own today, in the middle of the living room for a few seconds (just so she could clap herself), she was really proud of her achievement. Me and hubby just went 'oh no', as we clapped along, definately need to get safety gates by the weekend.

Jess is in nursery and loves it, has big cheesy grin on her face when she sees the staff, so thats taken loads of pressure off, i am so glad she is a sociable baby.

let me know how yous are all doing

lots of love

sue xxxxxxxx

Sue e - welcome back!! What are you doing up in the middle of the night? I hope you are feeling better...remember to take life one day at a time. Motherhood is definitely the toughest job on the earth....I would never have predicted it would be this difficult. But in the end we are so lucky to have our little girls..they are special aren't they?

I can imagine everyone is busy running after their little ones. Kristi A - how are you doing with the boys?

Isabella has learned to kiss...damn cutest thing..I ask her for a kiss and she basically puts her mouth on me and slobbers! I love it! She is also standing by herself for about 1 minute. I turned around the other day and she is just standing there. Do they ever cease to amaze you?

Well the chaos never ends for us...on Thursday we are back to Munich for 1 night and then driving to Italy where Isabella, me and the dogs will stay for about 1 month with DH coming everyother weekend. I am afraid he will probably miss Isabella's first all important steps. But I must take a verbal test (in Italian which I don't remember anything  ) to become an official farmer...I will get lessons in vineyards but I am totally nervous. I need to pass in order to do the renovations we want on the house. Hopefully after this event we can have a normal life and not be constantly in the car..to be honest it is really wearing me down.

Little one is still sleeping so off for a quiet cup of tea. :D

Hi all!

Tracii - you tire me out just reading your posts!!!!! All that travelling! I went down to London at the weekend to see my family (we live near Stratford upon Avon) - that's just a 2-3 hour drive but I am shattered doing that! Couldn't imagine driving between counties!!!

sue - Fab to hear from you and great news that you're slowly getting better. Jess sounds like she's coming on in leaps and bounds! Saw the piccies you posted - so cute!

KristiA - how are the birthday party plans coming along? Not long now! I was looking at cakes the other day - after telling dp I may attempt to bake my own and seeing the look of horror on his face I thought that perhaps it was better to buy one! Not unless you can buy a "do it yourself" decorating kit??? He-he - my baking skills are not up to much!

How is everyone else doing? Must get over to photobucket and a) look at everyone's new piccies and b) post some more (yeah, yeah I know - am very slack at doing this!). Soon we'll have lots of birthday piccies to post!!!

I enrolled Charlie in a "Tumble Tots" class for next month. Am sure he'll love it as he loves to climb and throw himself around! In a previous life (!) i used to teach a similar class myself and always really enjoyed it. Will seem strange to be there as the Mum and not the teacher!

Enjoy the week!

Hi everyone...

just a quick one cos I am sooo tired having just got back from Hong Kong last night and really need to get to bed. Just wanted to say...Tracii.... I hear you about the flight!!! What a nightmare!! Everyone came up to me and told me she was such a good girl, but the fact of the matter was, she didn't cry or anything, but just tried to climb me for the entire 9 hours. I feel like she tore 3 layers of skin off my neck just climbing me....

Anyway, no impressive things like standing alone for a minute, or first birthday plans, but she has started twinkling her hands when you sing twinkle twinkle little star, which is cute, and she says "wow", which is adorable.

Going to catch some zzzzz's.....

Traveling seems to be the general theme! We just got back from a vacation also. It was only a 4 hour flight, but I know what you mean about having them climb all over you the entire time. It's exhausting. Both of my boys caught colds and Brady also got an ear infection.

Their b-day party is on Saturday. We're having it here. I sent out cute little invitations. We're having about 20 people total. I'm putting together little goodie bags with prizes & candy for the kids that will be here. Also framing b-day pics of the boys and giving each adult one. I picked out the cake. And we'll do a cook out for lunch.

Oh, I have the greatest idea to share! Last week I had their 1st b-day pics taken. At the end I stripped them down to the diaper/nappie, I brought a b-day cake and brought balloons. They sat with the balloons all around them and you got it...they dug into the cake. The photographer took tons of pictures. They were laughing and covered in cake. They are the cutest, most unique pictures!!! I'll try to scan one soon and put it on photobucket.

I stopped pumping finally. Now I'm just bfing once a day. So my milk is winding down.

Gotta run....the boys are fighting again. Yes, not only did they start to play together now, but they also starting fighting with each other!

Bella - rest up! Atleast the flying nightmare is behind you :)

KristiA - Can you post the photos for us? I can't believe your boys are going to be 1!

We did photos with a photographer at the beach in NC...Isabella was a real ham - I will see if I can post them. We did some naked ones and she is just so damn cute..her fav - naked at the beach in the sand! I always tell DH her fav would be to be naked running through the fields.

Ciao for now - little one should be waking up any minute :)

Ok, I took a picture of the picture and posted it on photobucket. So it doesn't look perfect, but you can get the idea.

Well we are off (again) to Italy for the month. I probably won't have internet access so I want to wish KristiA and the boys a HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!!! We will be back beginning of November...and then in Vienna for a while...both Isabella and myself need to be in one place for atleast a couple of months. I told DH either Isabella will be incredibly flexible or she will take all this travel, changes ect...and decide to become a hermit  ...my poor gypsy kid!

The b-day party today was a huge success! It was so much fun. The boys were very good and loved opening all their presents. I made little goody bags for everyone that came. And we had a nice meal. Then of course...the cake! It's hard to believe that a full year has gone by already.

I'm so used to saying the boys' age in months...they are 6 months...9 months...etc. Now when I'm asked I have to say they are 1. WOW!
