Oooh, so exciting to be posting on this side 'for real'!
I tested positive on August 6th and am expecting one baby.
I've been wondering exactly how pregnant I am - am just so keen to get to the 12 week mark!
I had egg collection on July 21st, and embryo transfer on July 23rd. Do I count back 2 weeks then forward 40 weeks from egg collection? I meant to ask this at the clinic at my scan last week, but was so excited after seeing the little heartbeat that I totally forgot!
I've had a few awful flare ups of ovarian cysts since I tested, and they told me these shuld go down by 12 wks, so have got double the reason to be counting the days.I've got another scan next Friday, which is offically 8 wk scan, but I think I'll be more like 8 wks 4 days by then . . .
I love reading about everyone's pregnancy experiences on this side - so good to know what to expect! thanks all, lots of love Beck x
BEcky

Glad you got the heartbeat - great isn't it - keep safe! The way they did it with me on FET was not 40 weeks on from last AF but go to ET then back 2 weeks and then forward 40 - this if for FET - not sure what they do for stimulated cycle - the same I think - hospital will manage to confirm around the 12 week scan mark

Take care
Love
Tracey
xxx

Hi Becky

Congratulations on your positive - you must be over the moon!! Sorry to hear your ovaries are still giving you trouble and hope they settle down soon. I'm sure you think it's all worth it at the mo!

I was told to go back 2 weeks from ET - without getting a calendar out, I guess that makes a conception date of 9th July? You then add a mommoth 40 weeks for your due date! I'd call the hospital if I were you - I'm sure they won't mind confirming your dates over the phone!

Congratulations again and take care of yourself.

Helen xx
Hi Becky and congratulations!

Am I right in thinking you are at King's (or is that a different Becky)? I'm surprised that they didn't give you all the details of how pregnant you are; we were always told really clearly. You count back two weeks from your ET date and then add on 40 weeks for your due date. We had ET two years ago on 12th July and were due on 2nd April so I'm guessing that your due date will be 13th April (except that it's a leap year isn't it?!) or around then at least.

Good luck for your next scan.

Jules
TTC 5 years. Daniel & Charlotte born 22.03.02, 1st ICSI treatment. TTC for 4 further years. 2nd ICSI cycle abandoned, 3rd cycle BFN. Looking forward to being a happy family of 4.
Hi Becky

Congratulations on joining this side!

You count back 2 weeks from EC not ET as this is the day eggs were actually fertilised - so 1st day of pregnancy was 7th July for you - you are 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow (Sunday 1st Sept).

Take care & good luck,

Luv Rachel X
32 wks + 4 days with twins
Hi Becky

I would also like to say congratulations!! its so amazing when you see the heartbeat beating away on screen. If I was you I would call the clinic and say can you just confirm my dates. The thing is they would have it all wrote down in your notes anyway and it wouldn't be any trouble to them. I think mine was ET then count 2 weeks back and then forward 40 weeks if I can remember right.

Let us know.

Love
Shell.
19wks 4d pg
xx
Thanks for your lovely messages girls!
It WAS wonderful to see the heartbeat, and such a relief. But I now can't stop myself worrying that something bad will have happened by my 8wk scan this Friday. I know it's ridiculous, but we were so stunned when ICSI worked first time for us that it all sort of seems a bit too good to be true. Silly, and I must try not to be such a mad worrier - but I guess a few of you know how I feel?!

Jules - yep, I am at King's - i think it was you and I who were talking about the unsavoury 'specimen' cupboard for the DHs a while ago?! Things have been smartened up a lot there now, and (thanks to my mad ovaries), I had a sneak peek at the new wing last weekend, which is where we'll probably have the bambino in April - very posh!

Think I'll just hang on until Friday and make sure I ask for an exact date then - I reckon I'm 8 wks today, as what Rachel said about day 1 being EC makes sense. Wishing my life away . . .

Lots of love to all, plus bumps! Beck x
