Hi Everybody - hope you are all doing ok.
Got a few daft questions I wanted to run past you all, if that is ok?
1) Since week 5 (I'm now week 9) I've been feeling either A)Queasy all day B) Some days not queasy at all C)Other days vomiting(sorry!) for England & Ireland? Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

2) Do you get scared with the niggles, stabbing pains, grumbling and stretching pains? I drive myself bonkers with wishing time away and can't wait until Junior is here. Superb counselling service at my fantastic Assisted Conception Unit has helped a lot though.

3) Do you feel even more nervous after telling close family the good news? Mad I know.

4) Any good tips to share on buying maternity clothers (severe endo and three lots of surgery pretty much means I look further on than I am- about 3-4 months worth!)

Sorry for being selfish and sending such a long message but you know how it goes! Thanks girls.
Deb

does get better - I am 19 weeks on wednesday! Spent the first few weeks panicking to get to 7 week scan and then flapping to the 12 week scan incase something happened or was wrong with the baby!
felt nauseous some days and bloody tired and then not nauseous then throwing up - all cleared at 12 weeks and felt fab apart from my colitis which is clearing up. Then felt less tired.
It will get better - I now hardly worry about stretchy pains etc - all part of it and enjoying pregnancy - having started buying - make it seem real. spent the first few weeks wishing my time away just wanting to be giving birth but suddenly now nearly half way there!
As for clothes - don't buy a lot straight away - I went to Asda and got some maternity jeans and some ordinary trousers in size 16 with elasticated waist band for work - cheap but smart - have one pair from H&M which should last you now right the way through - bought some slightly bigger shirts to begin with but now realize get the cheaper maternity stuff which grows with you.
Good luck and enjoy
Love
Tracey
xxx

Your right the worrying never stops, I think I was like Tracey and anyone who is pregnant ends up the same with worrying. I did have a rough time because I was bleeding up till 12 weeks and I still get it now when AF is due. Has for sickness I was feeling sick one day then couldn't eat my food then felt great and thought it had passed but then it come back again.

Its got to the stage I will be 20 weeks on Thursday and I am just enjoying the pregnancy. I do still get pains in my tummy but I just look at them now as part of the pregnancy. It makes it even better now because started buying for the baby.

Keep us updated, and by the way they are not daft questions at all, we all feel like this at one stage or another.

Love
Shell.
19wks 4d pg
xx
Hi Deb, I am 12 weeks this friday and ALL the points you made are exactly as I feel. I have had stretching pains, some quite sharp, plus sickness on and off - when I've got it I can't wait for it to go, and when it goes I wish it would come back!!

I wish I could fast forward the time to be a bit further on - have our 12 week scan on 10.09, and will be telling everyone after this, assuming it's OK. I think I read somewhere that 10-11 weeks is really pretty much past the danger period.

Generally I feel quite good and can feel just a little hard lump/bump which is exciting. As for clothes, am ok with current ones for the time being but must get myself a coupld of new bras as things are growing and thinner straps now feel like cheese-wire on my shoulders!!

Don't worry Deb - I'm exactly the same as you and we're about at the same stage. Lots of Love - Jo. XXXXXx
Hi Deb,

Don't worry - you sound really normal to me. I felt nauseous most days, then had a mad couple of days throwing up, then i'd be fine etc etc It does get better and then you worry that you're not feeling anything!!!

Can't help you with clothes yet - i've only gone up one size. I keep panicking bump isn't big enough but boobs are getting bigger so that's a good sign.

Take care, Lizzy xxx
Hi Deb,

Don't worry about sounding daft - we've all been there!! I didn't get much sickness and didn't throw up once (lucky I know). I wouldn't worry about the feelings coming and going - my friend once told me not to worry if my boobs stopped feeling sore for a couple of days, then they came back, so I wouldn't worry.

As for buying clothes, I had a very depressing trip round Brighton on Saturday trying to buy suitable clothes. I realised that the selection for women is rubbish! In Brighton there's only Mothercare, Dorothy Perkins and 1 rack of clothes in Debenhams!! RUBBISH! I'm too small for maternity trousers at the moment, but I couldn't find any elasticated trousers in 'normal' shops to fit. I also tried H&M and the woman (or should I say child?) laughed at me saying that they only had childrens clothes, young people's clothes and women's clothes - looking at me like I was mad. Sorry to ramble on but I was most upset when I got home.

As for the niggles - they don't really stop. It's everything stretching (lovely).

Good luck - you'll be fine,

Alison x (20 weeks exactly today)

P.S. How come everyone was writing messages so early this morning? I cannot get up before 8am!!
Hi Alison

Isn't time flying your 20wks today and I will be 20wks on Thursday. The times on the messages are not correct so don't worry we wasn't all up on PC at early hours of this morning. I wish Marcus would sort it out because its so confusing.
Love
Shell.
xx
Hi Deb

Congratulations on your positive!!!! Unfortunately the stress and the worry does get worse before it gets better now. Don't worry, you're not the only one to be panicking about absolutely everything. I always thought that once I got the positive, everything would be OK and the worry would stop - fat chance of that!!!

I'm now 29 weeks pregnant with twins and was one of the lucky ones that hardly suffered at all from sickness. I had a few days and that was about it. From what I can gather, sickness definitely can come and go - make the most of the good days!!

As for niggly pains, I still get them now! Some weeks I have nothing, other days they are constant - try and get used to it!

We didn't tell any of DH's family about the pregnancy until we'd had the 12 week scan. You just do what feels right for you. I don't know how you'll be but I definitely relaxed a little once I'd had the 12 week scan - makes everything seem more real!

As for clothes, I found the Next Directory one of the best places - I'm still living in a pair of jeans I brought right at the beginning - my waist disappeared really fast! You can have a look at what they've got on-line (www.next.co.uk). Other good place is Blooming Marvellous and JoJo Maman Bebe - both on line. They are a little bit more pricey but do some nice stuff. Dotty P is pretty good as well!

I wasn't a stick insect to start off with so struggled with just going up one size - had to buy proper maternity wear. Depends what shape you are I think?!

God, I sound like a right old woman, don't I?! I'm going to stop now!!

Try not to worry (yeh right) and go with the flow. You've come to the right place to worry - they'll always be someone else with a stranger worry than you!!

take care of yourself and your little cargo!

LOL Helen xx

Just popped in to see how you all are. The times are american ones as Dr Marcus has changed the site over to .com from co.uk

Jo - did you have good hols
I am 19 weeks tomorrow and looking forward to my scan - keep buying things like mad and going to look at prams this weekend.
Still get weird niggly pains and sometimes a ligament stretches and hurts like hell. My jeans I got in the DP sale - maternity are fab and bought a pair from ASDA - we also have a mothercare discounts shop in leicester and I bought some knickers and a couple of tops at £4 a throw!!
Alison - sorry to hear about your traumas in the shopping dep't - you will get there - are you off the steroids now.
Lizzy - still going on about your bump size - it will grow!
Helen - time is ticking away hey
shell - not long until the scan
Anyway love to all
Tracey
xxx

Hi Everyone

The time seems to be going so quick, can't wait for the next birth or baby annoucement.

Tracey Asda by me doesn't do maternity clothes, but I did have a bargain the other day at DP's. I brought a pairof black maternity trousers and they was lovely. They was £18 and when I got to the till they was reduced to £12 so I had 2 pairs. I have also had to buy 2 new bra's and when I got measured I could of let the floor swallow me up, can't believe how much my boobs have grown.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Yipeee not long for my scan now.

Love
Shell.
19wks 5d pg
xx
Hi Tracey and all,

Glad to know that you weren't all up at the crack of dawn (I know we'll have to do it soon, but I'm so tired at the moment I need all the sleep I can get).

I stopped my steroids a couple of weeks ago, which maybe why I'm feeling tired? Apparently they give you loads of energy, so perhaps I was artificially energetic throughout the first 16 weeks!!!

The shopping trip was a bit depressing - but I may take up the advice of many and look on the Next website (do they do Petite maternity clothes - I'm only 5'2''?)

Alison xx
Alison

must be an american range of clothing for fat children that you can use - sorry no flaming help at all am I - lack of sleep - keep waking up at 3 am dreaming of baby products - last night it was Humphrey wallpaper and then not going back to sleep.
Still on steroids for 3 weeks - suppose I am going to flake out after
Good luck with the shopping
Love
Tracey
xxx

Hi Alison

I know what you mean I am only 5"2 as well and I have just had a look on the website but I would rather try them on then just order off there if you know what I mean.
Good Luck.
Love
Shell.
xx
Hi Alison,

Next directory do do a petite range of maternity wear. I had about three pairs of trousers from there and they've lasted all the way through so far (35 weeks). They're not necessarily the best value, price wise, but it's so hard to find petites that it's worth it.

Don't make the same mistake as me though, pre-preg I was an 8, so thought I couldn't possibly still be an 8 whilst pregnant, so I ordered everything in a 10 and had to send them back as the sizes are quite generous.

Suzanne.x
Sorry Tracey - i won't go on about my bump anymore, i guess i'm lucky i'll have a small neat one (it'll balloon now!!).

I'm finally running out of clothes that fit - Next maternity clothes look reaally nice and we've got a big next near us that has the range in stock. I need to get something smart and comfy - got three weddings to photograph coming up soon, can't really have my button undone,

Take care,
Lizzy xxx
