Sorry for my absence DH and I have been on a rollercoaster ride of emotion, Plus best friend was rushed to hospital after severe blood loss whilst giving birth at home, I was looking after her three year old son, she has been so supportive to me during IVF, don’t know what I would have done without her. Anyway to cut a long story short DH not sure he could carry on with IVF-DE, I not ready to throw in towel so after a lot of soul searching, rowing and tears we went on holiday with Parents from both sides, in England, and despite a lot of rain aaaaaaaaaaaaargh we survived. We made it to Madrid and now amazingly seem stronger than ever, hope I’m not wrong and living in cuckoo land. My friend on mend and both her and her 10lb 1oz baby boy doing well, thank god. The last three weeks have been a bit rough, I’m so sorry for very short post don’t know what I’d do without this site and you girls, will post more personals at weekend.

Madrid went well, we happy with clinic, I start trail cycle end of September hoping for donor match by December. Will post again at weekend still got parents with us.

i am still in pain. To sleep better i took a lot of my MS meds that i had cut out ( not good i know just ass well i am not using my own eggies) and pain went and I managed a good sleep so better for it. am seeing cranial woman today to get my head looked at lol she's going to sort out the pressure points I hope like my lady in Glasgow did x x Hope it can help. Due to go away tonight to fort william for mountain bike world champs so will be leaving around 6pm. So have a good weekend everyone and will catch you OMonday x x x Am hoping that i by friday i can hear rom IM about coming off these dreaded bc pills

If you are interested in reading about ds then please shout as I bought a couple of more general books rather than jsut books that were specific to DE. Glad that your dh is being so brave and supportive about it for you that must make a huge difference

Vicki - good to hear from you. I was worried. We will have to compare expected timings when I come back from Barcelona. May be we get to cycle together. JenB, thanks for the list update. It looks good!! Sorry to hear that you are still in pain. When can you get off the BCPs? I will be finished with mine on 9/17. No side effects to the BCPs yet. They did make AF a bit heavier but so far no headaches. I am prone to migraines, and in the past BCPs always seemed to kick one off.

Carolyn, sounds like you have some more books. "Helping the Stork" is still the best one I have read yet. Reading is devoted to DS, but the points it makes are very good ones for those using DS or DE. It also has a chart showing blood type possibilities for your baby. A lot of thought provoking issues. But they all seem to focus on the issues of disclosing or not. One quote was the parents were waiting until the child was old enough to understand before telling him and he comes home and says "my friend is adopted and I am so glad I don't have to deal with that." Also talked about explaining very early. "Once you talk with a five-year-old, you have to be prepared to be wide open. Your child may proudly announce, 'My mommy went to a sperm bank!' or 'The doctor got a man to help us have my brother.'" All these things DH and I have been discussing and it has been pretty good.

Way to go Gill! Half way through your 2ww. Keep that belly warm and talk to those beanies.

Vicki, so good to hear that you and DH have worked things out and hope your friend is doing better. Those of us that have tried and tried know how steep some of the climbs can be but we also know the drops on the other side of that rollercoaster ride can be just as bad or worse. I hope the rest of this journey for you will be smooth sailing.

My IM buddy. I cannot stop thing of you. This is way too hard & way too unfair.

As the girls have said, we are heartbroken for you & your dh.

Nothing that I can say or write to you now feels adequate. No more sparkles.........

You know where I am. Just wish I was close so I could nip round and give you a huge hug and cry with you.

Try to be strong. Try to focus on the fact that you do have some frosties. But I know right now thinking about the future will be so very hard after all you have been through.

Small steps. The pain will ease a little as each day passes. We are here for you every step of the way. You know that babe.
