2 weeks from when?

Post by mkdig »

I had my 2nd iui today and the doctor told me start progesterone in two days and then take a pregnancy test fourteen days from then. The last iui I had I was told to take to test fourteen days from the iui. What has everyone else been told about when to take the test?

Hi mkdig
Cool - we're in the 2ww together. I had my 4th iui yesterday.
I've never taken progesterone so don't know if this makes a difference but I was just told to test in '2 weeks' if no AF so I've always tested 14 days after iui. I had a different nurse this time and she said test in 15 days. I think I'm still gonna go with 14 days though as it should be detectable a couple of days early anyway. I just think that testing a day early won't change the outcome and if it's -ve and AF doesn't come within a few days then test again.
How are you planning to pass the time the next 2 weeks?
Best of luck

I have no idea how im going to pass the time. I am trying so hard not to get too excited. Its awful isn't it. I just keep trying to tell myself its going to happen eventually so not to be to stressed about this time. What a rollercoster. How are you doing so far? Its got to be the best way to slow down two weeks known to man. Any suggestions on how to pass the time?

Yesterday was fine as had to go back to work straight after and it was so busy I totally forgot, then I went out for dinner with a friend in the evening. I'm working next week but have got the 2nd week off so I think that will be worse.
I feel quite positive about this one as its been so different from the last 3 but I'm scared to let myself believe it might work.
I'm spending a lot of time on here browsing various threads and have taught myself to do tickers and
Image but need to find lots more things to keep busy.
Where are you getting treatment? Did you have any meds?

I am on 50mg. clomid. What meds were you on?
I had a 29mm follicle and a 28 mm this time. (a few small ones they didnt think would do anything).
How about you?
What went differently for you this time?
Im in Virginia, going to the Jones Institute.
Yes, its a lot easier to forget about when you are working. I hope it goes by fast for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Wow! I've never had follies that big. 50mg Clomid did nothing for me in fact I had my longest cycle ever with that - 62 days! I've then had 3 cycles of 100mg with a trigger shot at 18-20mm but they think I was becoming resisitant to Clomid as the last cycle I wasn't ready for trigger til day 26. So this time I had a low dose of Menopur injections which made me really nauseous, tired and emotional.
I still only got 1 follie (was hoping for 2 or 3) but this was the first cycle I didn't need a trigger - was so excited to poas and get a natural surge. It was also a diferent nurse did the iui and she took a lot longer.
Maybe it doesn't mean anything but I feel quite positive this time.
Fingers crossed for you
Did you decide when you're gonna test?

Im gonna test 14 days from iui. Theres no way I can wait the two extra days. Maybe ill split the difference and test on 15 but that's as long as i can wait.
I know what you mean about taking longer, it makes you feel like they are more careful with the placement.
I hope we both have great news in a few weeks!!

Im doing ok. I have been feeling a little blue this time. I am feeling really pessimistic for some reason. I am trying to stay upbeat but its really hard sometimes. How about you? I guess we all hate the waiting. I hope all is well with you. I am praying we both have BFP's this time!!

Hi
I'm starting to get quite nervous now. One minute feeling positive, the next thinking why should it be any different this time - I don't feel any different, but I guess its too early yet anyway. Have had a bit of cramping the last couple of days but trying not to read too much into it.
It's so hard getting the balance right between pma and not getting too excited so a bfn hits you so hard.
Hope you're doing ok

You just described exactly how i feel. I am dying to take the test in 6 days but im terrified to take the test also, you know? I feel like I cant think about anything else for even a few minutes the whole two weeks. I have felt some cramping too but I hear it doesnt really mean much.
keep us posted on your results. I hope they are great.

Hi Squeezan and Mkdig,

I am thinking of you both too. Hope that you get your BFPs :D I was terrified to test after my IUI too. Until I got the result I could believe that I was pregnant.

Had a bit of a surprise on Sunday :D Did a test as AF was a day late and it was BFP :D Still can't believe it :D

Hope so much that you will get yours too :D

Tina, hang in with the BCP. Hopefully some miracles can come your way too :D

Thinking of you all,

Jane

What fantastic news!
Did you have iui this month? I remember you were cancelled last month. Or was this a natural BFP?
I hope everything goes really well for you.

mkdig - you hanging in there? not long now, although it feels like an eternity doesn't it.
