After i took the test yesterday i couldnt cry, just sat there saying told you it wouldnt work, why did we think it would. Then i got to my bed and once i lay there i couldnt stop. The pain of seeing dh so sad and knowing i am the cause of it, just breaks my heart as i feel so guilty
Then this morning i couldnt stop again but i have decided i am bloody lucky to have frosties waiting on their mum and dad to collect them and i have to be strong. Dont get me wrong, i feel so sad, emotional drained and really negative about any other cycle because if grade 10's dont work then how can i think any other cycle will but i have another 2 chances and feel so fortunate about that, I have to try.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT, DONT KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO WITHOUT YOU GIRLS TO CHAT TO.

Image

Will write to you all soon once i get some strength from somewhere.

Love Jen x

Jen - very pleased to see that you have altered your ticker already. Focus on the future. May be IM will have some ideas as to what they can do next time to make your little snow babies stick. Remeber your frosties are amazing quality too. Thinking of you

Gill - how are you bearing up? Hope that dh is looking after you. No house work for another week for you as you take care of your 3 little beans which are getting nice and cozy. What are you doing to pass the time - hope it is lots of dvds and Hello magazine for you

Rebecca - any morning sickness yet?? Is your scan this week? Cannot wait for your news

JB - hope that you are having a lovely weekend away. You seem to go away every weekend. Hope that the headaches are not too bad and that you can move onto the patches very soon

Vicki - hope that you & your dh are in a better place now. This is tough stuff but I feel like you that in the end our relationships will hopefully be stronger. Glad that you liked the clinic. What tests will they do in your next cycle?

Kim - I agree with you that the central theme in almost all the books that I have read revolves around telling the child - who else to tell - what info. do you have available on the donor in future. Initially I was happy that there was very limited info about the donor in Spain. Now I worry that any child will find that hard to accept but I just cannot live with the waiting times over here so I will have to face up to explaining that if we get that far. Have you found the books a help? I certainly did.

Hugs to everyone else.

Hope that you are all having a good weekend. We were out last night with two couples where I used to work with both of the ladies. We had a great evening - although could not stop thinking of Jen and had to go to loo at one stage for a quick tear or two. Got to bed about 2am. Somehow I got to the fact that one of the guys sister is a top fertility expert who suffered 13 miscarriages herself and now has 3 little girls - all born very early. Well the guy suggested that I speak to her to get some objective advice. I was not sure that anything would come off it but we have already spoken. She was lovely. We talked for almost an hour. She had me walk her through all the tmt that I had had. Well she basically reassured me that we have had all the tests/procedures done at good clinics. We have covered all the ground and it sounded like an issue with my eggs. She did not tell me much that I had not heard before but it was amazing to have a stranger say - you have really done everything that you could, in a short space of time and done really well to be together enough to talk it all through and be able to talk rationaly about egg donation. It was so totally reassuring. So that really helped me. Out with a mate for lunch and shopping today so another day done. Company bbq tomorrow.

10 days til we fly out to Barcelona and 11 days until our appointment. Finally it feels like we are getting there.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend lovely ladies.

Lots of Love
Carolyn

Hi

We went out to see our friends last night after dreading it for hours but i'm glad we went, it was a change and felt good not to be sitting drowning in my own misery
On the drive there, dh then announced that he wants to try with the frosties, then again if it doesnt work. I was amazed as he always said after one trip to Barcelona that would be it but he said 'whats money'. He thinks we are only here on earth once and only get one go at life so we will find another £7000 from somewhere and try again if the frosties dont work :?:-----------we'll see :?:

I am going to call the hospital where i had my first 4 cycles tomorrow and ask about the hysteroscopy and also my Dr. I am just presuming this is what i need done, IM might suggest another test?? More waiting i suppose
I do think that it is probably better getting it done in IM, as they are the ones doing the treatment now and it better sticking with the same clinic so they can investigate everything. Its so frustrating, if i knew there was something stopping the embies implanting, then we could move on but all these cycle and never getting pregnant---i now think it wont ever work and am more negative than ever.

The only thing that is keeping me going is thinking of our embies waiting on us in Barcelona. Strange how i feel so attached to them and just want them home.

As Lola my OctoBud just said to me 'Octos never give up, we only pause'----like that.

I am due back to work tomorrow and dreading it, just dont feel ready but cant sit at home and be miserable. Once i'm there, it will be fine. Just hate everyone feeling so sorry for me.

Carolyn - Dont cry for me babe, you will have to go through buckets before i get a bfp and you need all your strength for your trip.
So glad you are feeling positive about all the tests being done. Dont spent to much money today  Speak later and please dont stop the sparkles, they cheer us all up.

Gill - Hope you had a nice outing yesterday and the pampering is still continuing from dh today

JenB - Thanks for keeping me going. The days are getting closer to patches and ET

Anna - Your help and tips for cycling at IM have been great, thanks------unfortunately you will have to go through it all again with me

Kim, Bebecca, Vicki etc thinking of you all and thanks for your support.

Can someone alter the list for me please, its to upsetting seeing the test date there, thanks.

Love to you all

jen1d, good luck tomorrow - I know from too muc experience that being back at work will be hard but it will be something to give your head a break and make you one day closer to getting those frosties home. I found that being at work, however stressful it was was at least a distraction. Will be thinking about you. stay strong and keep thinking about those frosties, next time will be your time.

Gill, how are you feeling? are these the longest days of your life?

Carolyn, big YES, the morning sickness has hit hard and it's all day sickness. I've had it now for about 4 days and i'm finding it really hard. Last night i went to a house warming party and had to leave after 20 minutes as I was so close to vomitting all over the new floors! is not fun and I don't know how I'm going to manage at work but it's what I asked for and I'm not forgetting how lucky i am.

jenbabes, sonia, babyblue, bigJ, vickie and anyone else I missed (sorry), how are you all doing?

I have my scan on Friday, it's been a long 2.5 weeks and can't wait to see what's making me so sick!

love to you all

Hi Ladies,

Jen, I am so sorry to hear of your bfn. I sure can appreciate how frustrating it gets when no one can tell you why it isn't working. I sure am at that stage... I just want to know what is going on and why I can't get pregnant.

Gill, I hope that you are hanging in there on your 2ww!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

I thought I'd send a quick update after my review appointment last week. After my bfn and the rests of my DH's fragmentation test, I was convinced that our problem rested solely on my DH's sperm. My RE didn't necessary agree that was our only problem.

We have a new doctor (same clinic) and this doctor has said that there could be a few things happening. The drugs might be affecting my lining, my window for implantation might not be the 'norm' or the sperm is causing chromosomal problems to the embyros. To counter each of these we are going to do the following for the next cycle: (1) use 50% donor sperm and 50% of my DH's sperm, (2) freeze the embyros 2PN and then thaw them to transfer into a natural cycle (non-medicated FET) and (3) do a double frozen transfer. The double frozen transfer is when they watch your natural cycle and 5 days after the LH surge they transfer 2 8cell embryos and two days after that they transfer 2 more 8cell embryos.

I am now so confused as to what could be going on with me but hey if this works then I don't really care. We'll be doing the retrieval in mid-October but the transfer probably won't happen until December or January (depending on when the clinic is closed over Christmas). It seems like so long from now but hopefully the time will fly by!

I just started reviewing the sperm donation listings to find a donor that we feel comfortable using. It is pretty amazing how much information they give.

Thinking of everyone!!!

Hi girls

Well i went into work and left at 1 instead of 4. Just feel exhausted and cant be bothered with anything-----especially the yp who was giving me abuse most of the morning, wanted to tell her to F@ off

Anyway, got home and ran to the computer to find out if IM had mailed. They did and say there is no reason to investigate further at this stage and we should go ahead with the patches on the 1st day of af then ET can happen in approx 2 weeks

I sent mail back saying i dont want to waste my embies and am unsure about this and feel we need to do tests. Dh is at the Dr just now as he has been so sick for the last couple of days so he will talk to the Dr and see if we can have the procedures done here and £.
I rang my old clinic and they confirmed me there was nothing stopping the embryos and they never did further tests as everything appeared normal.

Checked out the plane fares for the next month and they are through the roof due to October hols etc.

Just dont know what to do? Want a test but everyone says its fine---how do they know as there has never been tests done. Want to do ET but the flights cost a fortune.

Sorry girls but we are just having no luck and i'm so fed up

Love Jen x

Wow Jen1, they are really ready to roll. They seem like they are quick to get you back in tmt. That is good, only if you and DH are ready as well. I see your delima, wanting to go ahead and get started, but is everything okay, and then if everything is okay - wow the expensive flights. I will keep you in my prayers for a solution. Maybe you can find a break on the flights.

Kelly, glad to hear that you have a plan. Even if it is 1, 2, or 3. Good luck with the donor selections.

Rebecca, so sorry to hear that you are so sick. This is a good indication of a healthy beanie.

Gill - one week down. Only 4 more days until your BFP!!!

Carolyn, Barcelona is getting closer. Not long now. DH and I had a wonderful weekend and talked so openly about DEs and our expectations and wants and wishes. He was so sweet, said that disclosure was totally up to me as to when and who. Started a new book this weekend "Hot Flashes, Warm Bottles". It is funny.

JenB, I don't like the BCPs. I had a headache on and off all weekend. Glad it didn't get any worse. What a bummer with your motorhome. Good thing everyone was okay. Did it total the cars? You have another week of BCPs after the 17th? That's two more weeks of BCPs. Do you do down regging next? When do you start those? My drug is Lupron and it is a shot in my tummy. What do you take for down regging?

Hello to anyone I missed.

It is mid day here at work and I think I am going to go outside for a walk.

Love and hugs,
Kim

Jen1d - sorry that I made you cry. Never my intention you know babe. You asked for sparkles back so just wanted to do some for you. Brave girl to go back to work. Good on you. But good on you for leaving when you felt that you could not cope anymore. I am pleased that IM mailed for you but it is hard if you want tests done and they want you to go again. Wow - you can go again so soon. Guess that is good and bad at the same time. Can they offer any explanation why they did not implant or why it would be different next time? If you are not comfortable then is it possible for you to talk to them rather than doing it all via e-mail. If you feel that you should have a hysteroscopy and/or the immune testing (as far as I know these are the key things that they could do if you fear implantation failure) done then I am sure that you can have them done here but guess that they will want you to pay. Sure that you have much going on in your mind. Guess that you should only go ahead if you feel strong enough and that all your questions have been answered otherwise you will spend the next few weeks with lots of doubts in your mind over and about all the normal stuff which is so much to deal with anyway. Hope that you can find some way to reasonable flights if you do go ahead

Rebecca - so sorry that you are so sick. Guess that it might be pointing to 2 rather than 1. So excited for you with your scan

Gill - hope that you are doing ok as you head into the 2nd week. How are you feeling? Guess that you are away from the boards trying not to think about it too much. What ever works for you. Hoping that you are managing to chill and not worry too much

Kim - sounds like your dh is super supportive which is really nice. My dh and I are perfectly aligned on the tell the child asap so it just becomes part of their story. Dh is happy with me telling who I like outside the child although I have started to rein back and just tell people who I can really trust as would hate any child to feel that everyone knows if they prefer to keep it private. I certainly found the books very helpful for me. Just wish there was more that I could read. We don't do down regging in these cycles. We just do the bcp pills, then the bleed, then patches to build up the lining. Know the routine and not even been to the clinic yet!?

JB - sorry about the moto bump at the weekend. Glad that you & A are safe and sound. So hope that you will get the message soon to get started and get off the bcp headache pills

Kelly - wow what a process they are going to follow for you. The good thing is that it really sounds as if they are covering all the angles for you. It sounds like a while to wait but it will be so worth it if it works for you

Sonia - hope that you are having a lovely holiday

Anna & BigJ - how are our wise woman???

Vicki - hope that we can compare notes after I have been to IM in 9 days time. Hope that you & your dh are doing well

Hope that is everyone. I am engaged in a period of busyiness. It is the only way that I can stop getting very nervous about the up coming appointment. So I pack in work stuff - social stuff in the hope that the time will pass in a mad blur and that I will not have anytime to think about it. So that is what I am engaged in right now. Weekend was buzy of course. Out with people on Friday evening. Luck and shopping on Saturday. Company bbq yesterday. What with fitting in shopping/ironing etc was pretty packed. Have builder/decorator starting on Wednesday to do up our hallway. That and the 'baby' room (or my dressing room!!!) will then be the only room that we have left to do. Anyway will be popping in through my buzyness!!!

Love to you all.

Carolyn, with DE do you not take some type of meds (I may have mislabelled as down regging) to keep you on the ER's cycle and not ovulate too early? I have to take Lupron to suppress until transfer. After the collection, I will start all the estrogen and progesterone shots and supplements. I'm going to have to read up on this again, because I am now confused. I had not heard the term down regging until I started on here a year ago - I may be using the wrong term. Maybe we just do it very different in the states. :? What will your protocol require? i.e., AF-BC pills-Lupon-E2-...

Thanks,
Kim
