Tasha - I hope Aubrey gets better. Rashes are not fun to begin with, but when they are slow to go away it is worse! I have been really luck with Makayla because since she left the hospital, she has not had any rashes on her bum. However, she has a constant mild rash on her face. The doc told us it was due to the food allergy and he seems to have been right. I have not had any cow products in over a week and her face is almost completely clear. Good luck!

Colleen - I hope your boys are settling into a routine now that school has been going for a while. Makayla is getting used to a quite house for most of the day and now she expects that on the weekends! How is your older one adjusting to school?

Kim - Your twins are grawing fast! Makayla just started sleeping an hour stretch two days ago. It scared the heck out of us since we were not expecting it. Are they sleeping together or in separte cribs? Makayla is now sleeping in the crib solely. She prefers it and sleeps best in the crib. It is a bit of a pain because her room is upstairs and at the end of the day, I am exhausted, but then again she sleeps longer up there!

CasyP - How is Joshua doing? He is the youngest one here, but that makes him the sweetest. I am shocked how quickly all of the babies are growing up. They learn so much so fast at this age. I pray you are all doing well.

I have to go...I will be back later!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it has been so long since I have checked in. Lily has been keeping me very busy and I never seem to have a second to myself. It was a tough couple of weeks with her. Between the crying and the not sleeping we were all pretty worn out. But I am happy to say (and I hope I am not jinxing us... so someone knock on wood please) that the last week she has shown some great improvements. We are now on our 3rd formula in three weeks (Nutramigin) and I really think it is helping her. She smiles a lot more now and cries a lot less. She even slept through the night a few days ago (of course the next night she only slept 3 hours but at least now I know she can do it). She is napping now as we speak but I should probably wake her soon or else she will probably be up all night. I'll post an updated picture on photobucket later on.

How is everyone doing? I have been reading your posts and am almost caught up now. I saw all the new pictures and my goodness I can't believe how big everyone is getting and how beautiful all your babies are. It does seem like yesterday that we started this whole process. I thank God each and every day for the blessing of being able to be a mom and to share it all with you makes it even the more wonderful.

I am sorry for no personals but I promise over the weekend I will.

All my best,

Hi gals!

Nance, I'm glad you're alive and lilly is doing better! Yeah! I hope she has more sleepy nights for you! We're still not consistent, but we have more good nights than bad. By the way, I have a student in my class named Lilly, and she's precious! I think of you often when I say her name!

Racheal--I'm glad Makayla is continuing to sleep better too! My babes sleep together in the same crib, and they seem to like it that way. In fact, most mornings, they are up cooing and smiling to each other before I'm even out of bed! :) I love going in to see them "hanging out" together! During the day, they tend to nap on their playmats (when I'm watching of course....) or in their bouncy seats. The doc wants me to nap them up in the crib, but I'm so paranoid that they're going to get flat heads. So, I figure tummy time and the flexible backing of the bouncy seat would give their heads a little less "flatness" during the day. (Plus, I have the same 2 story problem as you....a pain to keep running up and downstairs). I might switch to the crib later on when they start taking longer naps. We'll see.

Tasha--How's the butt rash?

Quick question gals....For the past couple of days, ellie has been a pain to feed. She keeps turning her head from side to side while we're giving her the bottle. At first I thought she was trying to turn away from it thinking maybe the milk was coming out too fast (we're on stage 2 nips), but other times, I think she just wants to look around while eating or get a better angle while eating. I'm really baffled...any ideas? She doesn't fuss or cry, but it's really hard to feed her when she keeps turning her head from side to side. We've been on the same formula and nipples for a good 2-3 weeks now, so I'm not sure why she's doing this all of a sudden. ugh! :?

Have a good weekend gals. I'm off to a friends' baby shower tomorrow. She's due with twins in October! A boy and a girl....perfect playmates for Ellie and Braeden!

Hi!

Kim - Lily does exactly the same thing. Not at every feeding but at least at 1/2 of them. It is like a wrestling match trying to feed her. What I do is stop feeding her and give her a pacifier for a few minutes and see if that works. Once she is calm I try to feed her again. Sometimes if that does not work I find that she does that when she is gassy so I stop feeding her, give her a Mylacon drop, wait a few mintues and try again. Sometimes it takes me over an hour to get her to eat 4 onz. when she is like that so I know how you feel. Let me know if this works for you guys.

All my best,

Oh, Nance, I'm not alone, huh? Sorry to hear you have the same situation. I tried to go back to the stage 1 nipple today...thinking maybe the stage 2 was coming out too fast? Well, for one feeding she did great! I thought I had found the solution. But, then the next two feedings, we were back to wrestling...it's just strange because she's always been a really good eater. Tonight I held firm with the bottle and made her come to it...she kept trying to come to it so I know she was hungry, but it's like she wants to go sight seeing while she takes her bottle...ugh! I hope this doesn't last too long. Maybe it's just a little stage she's going through?

I'm going to check the bucket to see if there's any new pics.

I'm wondering about cowgirl....I hope she's okay. It's been a while.

Hey Girls,
Finally found 5 mins to post a couple of photos on photobucket!

Sounds like you are all doing good.

Nance - Glad that things to be improving with Lily and hope you are getting more good nights than bad. We had change DD's formula a couple of times as she was so fussy and sicky, especially in the evenings.

Kim- Wow , well done to be getting your 2 to both sleep through so young! Don't know how you've done it.

We are good. Nights are gradually getting better, and we even had a sleep period of 11pm-5am the other night. Just a one off tho. WE are however getting 3-4 periods between feeds at night which is great at his age. I can't believe he is a month already. He's not so great at settling in the day. Fine if we're out and about or cuddled to sleep but otherwise he will very rarely settle himeself. We're working on it tho, but DH hates letting him cry for long so its easier to deal with in the week when he's at work!

Better go and sort out some dinner. Hope you have had good weekend

Tasha--The pics are gorgeous! I guess I should make an appt. to get Ellie and Braeden's pics done. They'll be 3 months this week. Was JC Penney reasonably priced? Since I'm only working 1/2 time, DH is nervous about $$$.

Thanks Kim... yeah JC Penney wasn't to bad. Do you know of anyone with an Entertainment Book??? Does your school sell them? They have a 50% off coupon in the back... that saved us a ton of money. For 14 sheets of pictures, a frame, membership & smiles by wire (the link to send to people so they can order more pictures) was $120 with the coupon... not bad at all. However they do have smaller package that cost a lot less.

Yes, Tasha I do! Yeah! I found it....I'm going to check it out. My FIL also is a good photographer (as a hobby). I might have him take some shots first and then see if I want to actually deal with taking two babies to a photo studio. Sounds a little intimidating to me! :) Thanks for the tip!

Hello All!

I am sorry I had to leave before, but Makayla called and thus I went. She is sitting beside me right now fussing and playing with her rattles at the same time. She seems to be wanting my attention right now, but I am hoping to make a few comments!

Tasha - She is beautiful! She is getting so very big and she has such a personality that the photographer has managed to capture. I do all my photos for the boys, but this is my last baby so I have a girlfriend that is a professional photographer. She is going to do Makayla and the boys when Makayla turns about 6 months old. I am waiting for this because we want to have all of them together and her sitting up well and responding to the photographer. We are going to have all three dress in blue jean and white t-shirts and boots. They are going to be in a pasture with horses in the background. All of these pictures are going to be black and white (I am partial to the b&w photos).

Kim - They are such a handsome pair! They do seem to be more advanced than my little angel. You are blessed to have such good looking children. As for the money, I would buy the smallest package and then allow family members to order their own pictures on their own budgets. This should not be a problem if your family understands your situation.

Casy - Joshua is a chum! My boys were always very chuncky babies. They had the chipmunk cheeks and thunder thighs. Joshua is more like Makayla. Lean and long from the looks of his pictures. As for the sleeping, it will happen and he will learn to settle down. Makayla took a long time before she was happy and attentive between naps and feedings. Now she is pretty good until around 6 pm.

Nance - Makayla does the head thrashing and I breastfeed her. It is a stage, and this will pass. When she does it, I just stop feeding her and wait for her to calm down. My boys did this and eventually the stopped and then they would watch me the whole time they were eating.

Cowgirlclass - I hope you and your children are okay. It has been a long time since we have heard from you and Naomi. Take care if you are reading!

We are very busy right now. I am in school, taking care of the house and Makayla, and now I am working to get the Cub Scout rally night ready for Tuesday. We are making displays, writing speeches, sewing patches, and planning the entire year's activities.

I hope you are all well and keeping those beautiful babies chuncky and happy!

hi there girls... all the babies are so cute... i pick up my pictures on the 13th...i went to sears this time... i went to jcpenny for his 1 month photos... i get a lot of photos done.. i usually had gone to picture people, but they closed the one by me... i LOVED them the best... i get photos 1, 3, 6, 9 months 1 year, 18months, then2 years and every year after.. i do not buy alot each time, but like to get them done...

sears i liked the sudio better, and they had better posing, but pennys i like the quality better... our pennys is so small, and i had all three kidos, so it was crazy and there were like 20 kids in the waiting area with 6 chairs... so i'm not sure where i'll go for my 6month photos?? i really wish there was a picture people.... they were the best and photos in 1 hour!!!

rachael- i had Gavins photos in blue jean overalls with no shirt under them... it was really cute... i was trying to think of something a little different for him

kim- i agree to buy only for you, and maybe one for grandparents, i usually only get a VERY few and use a coupon from the baby magizine.. i know that there are jcpenny and sears coupons in "baby" "parents" or "american baby" that are no session fee and cheeper per sheet prices.. look for those.. i never go with out a coupon!!! PS... gavin does the same thin while breatfeeding... i think that they are just starting to get interested in what's around them... i usually stop and try again in a little bit... by then he's really hungry and eats without pause.. altho some times i'll get a huge burp out of him, then he'll eat well.

tasha- she is a cutie... it looks like she has blond or redish hair... so cute ... my guys always have dark hair.. she is serious in some and big smiles in the others... how is the diaper rash?? better??

casy- what cuties... youll get your sleep.. gavin will only settle himself whilst he is not crying, which is most of the time, but if he is crying... the crying it out does not work for him.... for him it was better to calm him, then try and lay him down again... it works wonderfully, and he always (well almost) goes to bed awake and settles himself in.. so soon i hope that your little guy will be getting himself to sleep and through the night!!

nance- glad to hear that you found the formula... we had to use that when we weened our last it's pricy$$ i hope that you signed up to get the formula coupons... if not go to their website and sign up... sign up a freind or two... hope that lily will start sleeping more night through for you... and you'll get some sleep back!!

well girls off to bed for me... bummed that the Bears lost, but hoping for a better game next week... TAKE CARE ALL!!

Hey gals!

not much time as I have to get showered while the babies are napping. Thanks for the advice about the photos. I guess I better figure this out this week. I do think it's neat to get photos at 1,3,6,9, and 12 months. They grow so darn quickly!

I have to admit I'm relieved that this head thrashing thing happens to other people....I was wondering if there was something wrong. I'll just keep working with her. Sometimes burping helps.

have a great day gals!
