Rikerees - Oh honey! I hope you are through the worst of it and getting back on your feet! I have a friend who in her first IVF pregnancy had lost her first baby around 5 months due to her cervix opening. She did IVF again and did a reduction due to multiples and had a cerclage done. She gave birth to a wonderful full term baby boy a couple of weeks after they removed her cerclage. Many blessings for much success with your little one.
Tanya - Isn't the movement a wonderful feeling? How are you feeling with the twins? I hope you are doing well.
Noodle - How did your Level II scan go? We hope you got wonderful results!
Not much to report here. Feeling lots of movement which is a complete blessing. I hope to hear everyone's updates really soon. Take Care Ladies!

malkina: my cervix was measuring 1.5 after all had passed, still not a great number. I really think he is hesitant cuz he is not convinced I will be able to carry to term. He said the reason was infection and that if he puts in the cerclage the risk of causing preterms labor due to infection is high. I had a dream last night where he basically said, a cerclage wont do it. I guess I just have an inadequate cervix- like christines friend and I fear I will suffer the same fate fairly soon. I am on bedrest, only up to eat and go to the bathroom.

rikirees, please stay positive. You don't necessery have to end up like Carolyn's friend. People are different and if you are on a bedrest and taking it easy, you might still carry it to 37+ weeks. Just think positive. Good luck!!!!

Wow you have been through a lot. That is horrible. Your single baby is almost to a viable age with lots of care...my friend had to have a c-section at 22 weeks due to eclampsia and her baby is doing well. Over a year old now. Totally amazing. Keep your chin up girl. I love my doppler as well and when I dont feel movement for a while I just plop it on and listen. So wonderful and keeps you focused and doesnt let your mind wander. I totally know how that is. Hang in there girl. We are here to support you....

Rikirees...so great to hear from you, what a tuff time your having. Hopefully it's smooth from here. Did they tell you how long on bed rest? I know we all do what's best for our babies, but I think bed rest would send me over the edge. I cannot get comfortable in bed at all. You are always in my thoughts and wishes, keep us posted.
Well it's a girl...we knew it but OMG was she beautiful! While they were filming she yawned and stretched....so precious. And we will be sticking with "Sydney Teresa". DH is thrilled...he thinks it means that he's only going to have girls but very content with that. He's trying to decided where he's going to hide the porn. She measured ahead of schedule which was big because she has always been between 3-5 days back. This DR really pushed the amnio on us, very odd and of course made us very nervous. Kidneys were dialated...anybody else have this, she said it was common but also a Downs marker. But since all our other tests came back good it didn't change the percentages....does this seem right?

Malinka- it was the peri. We are just so thrilled to have made it to this point after this amount of time, it's all a miracle. Thanks for the good thoughts! How are the twins?

Just as an FYI
my peri said that if you only have one marker for downs but everything else is OK such as the heart chambers and the fact that the baby is opening and closing its hand then she said that the risk of m/c is 1 in about 200 or so. which is way higher than your baby having downs with only one marker. It is not a for sure. She thought that she saw a choroid plexus cyst on one of my babies and she told me not to worry about it. That although it was a marker for downs it could just be normal development. She said that it was up to me but that she knew I went through ivf to get pg it wasnt worth the risk because there is nothing that can be done about it in utero. And I would not terminate on this one marker basis anyway. That is my thought and what my doc said. She is more conservative though. Hope this helps.

Noodle - Congrats on having a girl! They are so fun! I truly adore our 22 month old DD. She will have a little sister in January who I hope she will adore as well. Best wishes for a wonderful and healthy baby girl!
Malinka - Feeling those little ones moving must be great! It's such a reassuring feeling. Best of luck on the 18th for a wonderful scan!
Rikerees - I hope sharing about my friend didn't scare you. When she did IVF it went well and she was not closely monitored since she wasn't considered high risk. The doctor's did not know she had a problem with her cervix that time. Once she did IVF again - they knew about her cervix issue and did her cerclage around 12 weeks. So thankfully your doctor's are closely monitoring you and will hopefully help you carry to a safe time or full term. Please accept my thoughts and prayers for you and your baby. Please let us know how you make out tomorrow.
Tanya - I had a doppler with my first baby and it was a wonderful thing to have when I wasn't feeling too much. We didn't do one this time since I've felt a bit more earlier this time. I hope you and your twins are doing wonderfully! Stocking up on diapers and wipes ahead of time is a great idea. We did that with our DD and they lasted us 6 months. It was nice to not have to worry about running out during the cold winter months with a new baby. We typically go to BJ's ( a wholesale club - if you're not familiar) and found they had the largest quantities and best prices.
Wannabeone - I hope you are doing well! Looking forward to new updates!
I have my 23 week checkup on the 13th. My DD and I are starting her new swim class tomorrow. It will run through mid October and then that's it until the spring. I want to continue activities with her for as long as I can before the baby is born.
Wishing everyone many blessings and best wishes. Take Care!

ChristineB-thanks, you also, we'll be just very happy to have a baby in our arms. Swim class...very ambitious, you should have a good time. I keep on thinking I'm going to try a new exercise class, but then I lay down.
Malinka- isn't great to feel them move...some days though my little Sydney doesn't stop, when we had the US she was that way the tech got a little frustrated because it took her so long to get all the pics she needed
TansRN- me a DH think the DR was trying to make some money. All the research I've done on the net seems pretty harmless and DR was very pushy...at this point I almost want to make a call and ask her why...with all we've been through...why scare us unneccessarily. It's very common and 95% of the time clears it's up when the baby fully develops.
Thanks for everyone support.

Hey guys
I have a 21 week appointment tomorrow with u/s check. My back is killing me too. I am still in physical therapy for it three days a week. I have been just trying to take it easy. My mom went nuts shopping for babies. I will be updating my blog soon so that you will be able to see what the room is going to look like. Pretty plain on the walls but she bought matching cribs and bedding in pink and blue. It is so cute. I still get so nervous getting all the supplies. Why can't I just think only happy thoughts? I am so worried about things. The things a previous m/c does for you-I tell ya. You would think that I would be fine. I mean I am feeling the babies move I listen to them here and there and things are going along OK. So what is my problem? I dont know. Sorry to ramble........
Noodle
I would have to agree with you on the money thing. I would not be doing it at all. That is the same for me. It is cleared up by birth anyhow. I am not going to worry or expose my little babies to that if I dont have to-know what I mean? Good for you. I do not like pushy sales people. That is what he was doing "selling" you on the amnio.
Christine
I used to go to BJ's when I lived in NY but we dont have them here in MI. I have to go to Costco or Sams club. Same deal though. Thanks for the tip. I will check them out next time I go there. I am so trying to get stocked up like that. It really pays off later when you dont have to rush out to buy them with babies in tow. Good Luck on the swimming class-wow that is ambitious!!! I think that I will be taking my boys to open swim at the local high school so that I can relieve some of the pressure on my back....sounds great right about now.
Malinka
I love to feel the babies moving. I really do. It always makes me smile-it really is so amazing. i love the feeling. It is something that me and the babies can share no matter what is going on around me. Love that.

Tania, I am the same way about worring about everything. You name it , I worry about it. I worry that my pregnancy is going ok, I mean I still can't believe sometimes I am pregnant or that I am having twins, it is just too good to be true, you know what I mean? After what I went thru I still dont' believe sometimes that I am finally going to be a mommy. MY doctor sux, it is probably too late to look for another one, they all are the same anyway.
on a top of that, I am watching "desparate housewifes" on DVD, so one of the housewifes hired a surrogate mother to deliver her baby. To make a long story short, doctors implamented a wrong embryo. So now I am freaking out too. Sorry girls, didn't want to ramble .... Just wanted to tell the board how crazy i am nowdays, LOL
TansRN - I think that was such a nice, comforting thing to hear for Rikirees - and all of us - that your friend had her baby at 22 weeks and everything was fine.
All is well here. I am finally feeling movements. Sometimes kicks, sometimes high fives. My husband also finally felt it. Very special. Sometimes I feel guilty that I always get to take the baby everywhere I go and he has to leave it for travel and work and such.
I am getting so big. I don't know how I will continue to grow even more. And continue to teach my kindergartners. Today a girl told me she hopes it won't come out sideways and she was so glad it wasn't coming out of my privates b/c that would hurt. Newsflash - it very well might be. And she also asked her mother if I would be pumping in front of the class. Funny!
I'm now getting really nervous about labor/delivery. The pain of it. Former moms - help!
