I hope everyone had a great weekend
I just got back from the Dr.'s office, had my baseline US & BW also (AF began on Sunday) ... My calender has me down for beginning stiming this Friday
Hi Donnell, and thanks ... the nurse told me they would only call me today if they needed to alter my meds (or they find a problem w/ the BW since the US was fine) ... let me know how yours goes tomorrow? (Good luck!!!)
Hi Crystal, Welcome back
And Donna, Oh my Gosh!!!! wow, I could never do that ... You go girl!!!!
As far as my meds ... right now I am on Leuprolide (same as lupron) & Dexamethasone (.75 pill) Friday I begin Follostim and then that Sunday I add in Menopur every other day

Funny enough - I didn't have stats on you for some reason... I thought I'd post the stats and work on yours right now... so when I pulled your profile and associated messages I found this most recent stat info. I definitely did not forget about you, was just going to start working on you. I will edit right now....

I just asked my Dr. about it this morning .... he gave me a card of 1 that he recommends
How long have you been doing it?
How's it going for you?
(I hate needles I'm just a whimp ) How are the needles to take? is it painful?
Do you feel each 1 going in?
I'm guessing that it's not covered by insurance .... around how much $$ per visit?
My Dr. told me that it wasn't too late in my cycle to "get into" the acupuncture and that it would be helpful (you & I are right on the same cycle so far)
Well, the weekend is definitely over! I hope everyone had a great one! We had family from out of town, a very hectic but enjoyable time.
I stopped the bcp on Saturday, went for Acupuncture on Sunday, different set of needle locations almost everytime - I don't know what it is, and I don't question it. All I know is that is working like a charm for me. I got AF on Sunday. I was worried at first, but called the nurse and she said that it was great! I am doing fine with my shots, better with the lights on! We also took that tip of leaving the needle in for 5 seconds - no more seeping! Thanks girls!
We all get to wear those great fall and winter maternity clothes! Except for Donnell during the day! She get's the best of both worlds, summer clothes during the day and winter clothes at night. That will be expensive. I look for all the sale items at online maternity clothes shops. There are some great deals out there! I am currently on the hunt for a black one piece maternity swimsuit for our Hawaii vacation at the end of January.
Fall is underway here in Chicago - 69 degrees and cloudy!
I tried to update the board to the best of my ability, please correct me if I am wrong or inform me of updates or changes. It's getting closer and quite hectic! Girls - I can't believe it! We are all getting sooooo close! I have a very positive feeling for all of us! I am praying to St. Gerard and the Angel Anacita! I googled patron saints of fertility and those are the one's I found.
Congrats to all the stimmy girls! You are the leaders! Forge on and produce those follies! I hope everyone is going well!!! Sticky baby dust to all!!!

Yes, I noticed that we are on the same cycle as well! I even updated the board!
The acu is awsome. I started that about 1 week before the Lupron. I have been doing it 2x per week and the cost is $60 per session. I gave up a couple of things (one being mani and pedi every week) to justify the expense with DH.
It is quite expensive and I did think twice before I commited myself. The rewards are greater than I expected. I have a new sense of control, I am more focused and am able to visualize the acu helping the body prepare for the pregnancy and implantation. I am tired after the sessions. I usually snooze for about uh, the whole session! I can feel the needles going in, some sting but you let the acupuncturist and they readjust... The # of needles vary session to session. Sometimes more, sometimes less. They ask to feel your pulse and look at your tongue everytime. I think this helps determine where they are going to put the needles. The studies I have seen - suggest there are improved IVF outcomes. Do the research for yourself before you commit yourself and figure out if it's the right thing for you. It was for me. I am going to continue through the pregnancy. It has improved my circulation tremendously! I hope this helps!!!!
Your dear cycle sista!

Yes I was on Metformin for a while but it didn't seem to do anything, in fact I still have a bottle at home that I will probably take if this doesn't work. But it's going to work!! I need to think positive.
I don't know if I could do acupuncture but I'm glad it is working for ya! Right now I'm not feeling to bad about anything, except maybe a little nervous about that progesterone shot. Sometimes I think too much and can't sleep well but I've been good for the past week.
My dh is so calm all the time he never seems to get nervous. I wish I were that calm about it!

This IVF stuff is all so new to me ... and I don't think that I caught everything that the Dr. told me about "IVF process" ... I do try to ask question (as I think of them) .. there just seems to be sooooooo much to learn about
o.k., so here is my question (or 2 ) .....
After ET, do we remain on meds? (I have been reading on the forum of the women remaining on their meds and doing Beta tests ...I thought once ET was done, we just do our 2WW with NO meds or anything other than maybe prenatal vitamins and wait and see)
Well, you'll be on progesterone. I believe everyone has to do that. I also got Medrol, antibiotics and Estradiol pills. I'm not sure how long I'll be on those for. I'm sure everyone is different. I think the Medrol is for ICSI patients only.
I always think of a million questions once I hang up the phone with the nurse or when I leave the appt. Ask away, that's what we're here for.
And thank you for your help
I thought that I received all my meds through the mail already that I will be taking for this whole cycle (at least that is the way I understood it) .... and I don't have any progesterone (that's what I keep hearing that many other ladies are taking as well)
I always think of a million questions once I hang up the phone with the nurse or when I leave the appt.
What I started doing is ... as I think of things that I want to ask my Dr./nurse, I write them down on post it notes and put them in my daily meds journal (I was just at my Dr.'s office this morning though and didn't get to ask this 1)
oh, well, guess I gotta get out that post it note pad
Love - I will be taking prenatal, antibiotics and progesterone mixed emotions on that, happy as it will make our pregnancies possible and scared of that big long wide needle.... I make notes in my little purse dayminder... that has worked best for me.
Christie - What is the Medrol for? We are doing ICSI, but I have not received anything other than what is mentioned above...
Archana - How are you??? I hope everything is ok... I know your ER and ET is coming soon! I am soooo excited for you! You mentioned your sister has to do IVF also - what are the odds? I guess it's good, you will be able to mentor her.
Where is everyone? I miss you all!
