Virus and 7 weeks - anyone else?? SO WORRIED

Post by shantala »

hi all

in addition to having M/S since last week i caught a sickness and diarrhoea bug (of my neighbour i think) which meant i was severely sick for about 6 hours yesterday and had diarrhoea the whole time too (sorry for TMI). i'm 7 weeks pregnant and now i'm worried that could have harmed the baby.

although i spoke to a doctor at my clinic who said the sac would protect the baby, i do not have too much faith in him as he told me i was fine when i had OHSS and he said in the same sentence yesterday if it carries on to today they'll scan me early (my next scan is in a week).

after all we've gone through i dont want to lose the baby coz of some stupid bug. has anyone else had a viral infection during those first crucial weeks and come through absolutely fine?

many thanks in advance...so worried!

Shantala,

You poor wee girlie. I had it happen twice to me in pregnancy. When I was 8 weeks pregnant and then again when I was 33 weeks pregnant.
Both times I couldn't hold any food down, only water and both times diahorrea and lasted for about a week.

I remember been like you very scared that this would effect the babies but it didn't. They make sure they get all the good stuff like little parasites bless them and they leave you with nothing. I promise you won't have harmed your baby petal. Just make sure you have loads of water as only dehydration can effect them.

Hope you feel better soon pet.
