Can I join???

Post by wantinglilones »

Hi everyone!
Do you mind if I join your group?

I'm new to the world of IVF/ICSI and stumbled upon this website and your group.
I've spent the last week and a half in utter confusion as I quickly began injections in preparation for ER this Saturday 9/15 to correspond with my DH SR occurring the same day. We certainly were not expecting to be starting a family this way but we're committed to starting come heck or high water!

We're planning on an ET on Tuesday 9/18. Keeping the positivity flowing and the fingers crossed.

Hi Lisa,

Welcome to our group! This is a great place to share the experience and learn some good tips!

No one here ever thought that we could end up trying to conceive this way. People around us seems to have no problem conceiving. On the brighter side, we now have the opportunity to become lovely papas and mamas!

Happy that your journey is almost coming to an end. Let us know your BFP!!!

Hi all! I am new to this board and to the IVF process. I'm not sure if this is the board I should be on, I begin my Lupron shots on Sept. 17. This will be our first attempt at IVF we will be having ICSI to improve our odds since the morphology was only 7. We've have done IUI 6 times with BFN on all. We had a NBP in 2005 that resulted in a miscarriage at 12 weeks.

I'm looking to be able to share this experience with people who are experiencing the same. They tell me to avoid stress (HA!) I can't help but worry, besides the fact I have a 15 year old at home.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm so sorry Ingrid. That is horrible news. I'm glad that you took time to grieve and to treat yourself a bit. That is important. I can only imagine how you must feel. I'm so nervous that will happen to us. I know it happned to a friend of mine and it is devastating. Do you mind me asking why they canceled your cycle? The end of Oct. will be here before you know it. Try to stay positive.

Welcome Lisa and Michele, I'm glad to meet you and I'm glad you decided to write. Sounds like you have already been thru a lot. This board is so nice, nice knowing there are people out there going thru the same stuff.

I was in for my ER yesterday and they were only able to retrieve 4 eggs :( I'm very nervous to hear when they call if they were able to fertilize any. I was so optimistic they would get more than that, I about cried when she told me that. My dh and I were hoping to be able to freeze some for one more shot at this but I'm thinking that might not happen either.

We did our first progesterone shot this morning and I have to say it wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought. I only got half a dose today. I numbed it w/ice real good that helped a lot.

Donna I'm sorry to hear about your sister, that is terrible, it's one thing to be strong for yourself but to deal with that on top of it... wow.. :( , I hope the best for your sis that she will heal soon.

Kim - Good luck w/ your shots, I got myself worked over it too but it never was as bad as I had thought :)

Ingrid, I'm so so sorry. Its a horrible feeling after going thru all that just to find out they have to cancel it, try to keep your hopes up even though I know how hard it is to do... keep treating yourself well... It sure is hard to understand why all things like that has to happen but I'm still praying and believing BFP's will happen for us all!

Babes

Post by albany07 »

Kelly - maybe 4 is all you need! We are hoping for fertilization of all - but all your really need is one! I read about a girl on the pregnant after treatment board that just retreived and fertilized 2, transfered 2 and now is pregnant with...yep... 2!!! You (DH and future babes) are in my prayers! Stay positive and ready to accept those wonderful eggs for implantation to occur. Take it easy those first few days, no matter what anyone says... that will be your time to bond with your little ones - they will finally be back with thier momma... I believe in visualization - It has placed me where I am at today professionally as well as in my personal life... So picture what the babes will look like, boy(s) or girl(s) or both, warm, pink and blue fuzzy thoughts to you! Get your bedroom ready for hibernation for a couple days (favorite magazines, new sheets, comfy blankets, bell for DH (have him pamper you)!!! This is your time!

BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP, BFP!!!!!

Thanks for all the support girls! Together we will get through this!

Hi Ingrid,
Sorry to hear that your cycle was cancelled. Did they tell you why? Are they going to plan a new protocol? Stay positive. Things will work out. You will get that BFP. I am praying for you!!!

Hi Ingrid, Thank you so much for keeping us positive! and guess what all four were fertilized!!!!! :D :D

I will try the visualizations! , after so many attempts and let downs I wasn't letting myself get real excited for fear I'd be let down even worse. I know especially now I need to change my tune. I had gone over names a few weeks ago but then I wasn't letting myself even think of that. All positives from here on out!!

Wow Kelly, that's great news. Like they say, you only need one. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you. Definitely, only positive thoughts from now on. We can all relate to not wanting to think about names, etc. I was looking at names the other day and I was on Babies R' Us picking out everything I might register for. I was even looking at double strollers. You never know :) I can't wait to hear how the transfer goes. How many are you transferring?

I have a question about the stims. Do you always take it at the same exact time every night? I'm stressing out, because I am supposed to go out to dinner, but I do my shot at 7pm. So, I don't know if I should do it before I go or after I get back. Either way, I'll be at dinner at 7pm. Ughh, decisions! I might go to dinner late and do it before I go. I know with the Lupron, I sometimes take it an hour early or an hour late. I wasn't sure if it's the same with the stims.

Thanks,
Christie
