Ovary behind Uterus

Post by kismet1003 »

Hi.
I have egg retrieval tomorrow morning and everything was going smoothly until my u/s on Weds. The dr said my left ovary is behind my uterus and he may not be able to get to the eggs! He said once I'm under anesthesia he is going to try to manipulate it and get it to move closer to where he needs it to be but he can't guarantee that he'll be able to do it and we may just have to use the eggs from my right side.

Has anyone had experience with this ?

Thanks for you help. I was really, really upset about it yesterday because it caught me off guard but feel a little better today.

Hello,
I am in the exact same position as you. I have severe endo and my right ovary is embedded down by endo. When I went for egg retrieval the Dr could only get one egg from that ovary and there were 3 other eggs that looked good that he could not get to. He did get 6 from the other ovary though. All you need is one good egg. Unfortunately, it did not work my first go around in august but I am doing trial number 2 in october. Good luck to you
