Good luck, I'm thinking of you and the twins. I am sure that you willl manage to keep them warm and cosy for a few weeks yet. If they are born early it sounds as though your doctor's are on top of it and you have some great back up. I also have a friend who gave birth so a singleton at 27 wks and he is now a very healthy and big 8 yr old.
Sha, I saw the consultant re my arcuate uterus and they have moved me to doctor care (rather than just midwife) and are going to scan me every 4 wks. However she said that this was just a precaution and they hoped that there wouldn't be any problems. If you are concerned I would think about going to see a private Obs and getting some parallel care. You shouldn't have to I know, but I just think that after all we've been through I want to limit the worry as much as possible and try and enjoy this pregnancy as much as poss. It would probably just be one appointment and one (well timed) scan but I'm sure it would put your mind at ease. If the consultant had just said wait and see this is what I was thinking of doing- not because I think that there is a huge risk (seems from the literature that the highest risk is before 16 wks for bicornate and arcuate uteri) but because I would worry anyway and I really don't want to!
Miss Piggy, I think swimming sounds like a very good idea, I am really starting to feel pregnant now and any ease would be very welcome! I keep getting stuck in bed trying to get up - I look like a beetle stuck on its back!
I hope you all have lovely weekends, Denise - stay on the sofa, do not do anything!
LOL

Well now I feel like a beached whale and its getting hard to get out of bed for me too.
Peanut (the baby) has very strong kicks and moves like he is fighting. The girls were more gentle some times it keeps me up at night as well as peeing every five mins.Dont get me wrong I am loving it, but its just getting harder work now.
I have to start getting the house fit for showing so we can move next spring. Trying to make it less messy at the same time as filling it up with needed baby things.
How is everyone getting on?

Tams,
thanks for the info and advice, i'm seeing my GP again this week, was going to book a private Ob's appointment but thought id wait and see if the GP will refer me back again. will keep you informed of all the goings on on that front. i have to go for my Anti D injection tomorrow and then another one in 4 weeks time is anyone else in the same situation with thier blood groups Ie mine is negative so have to have the injection!
Miss Piggy,
oh bless, totally understand the need to pee all the time. my little bean seems to come alive more in the middle of the night to which keeps me awake for a good 2 - 3 hrs whick really stresses me out when i'm on an early shift, but i wouldn't change any of it for the world, i have waited 10 long and hard years to feels all these kicks, but on times i just wish the bean would kick a little softer!!!!
your girls must be getting excited now that the time is getting closer to having a new baby around the house.
as for me nothing much to report still working tho it is getting harder to do the longer shifts now, by the end of a shift i really do have low abdo pain its as if my stomach muscles have given up and the bean is sitting so low s/he's about to fall out and its so uncomfy.
hope everyone is is doing ok.
sha x

Baby nurse sounds like a very good idea!! I've just started reading a book about babies sleeping and have a book on breast feeding to read. I have no idea how much the theory helps when it comes down to it but I figure it can't hurt to have some knowledge (I currently know nothing!) I've also just started buying things, I start a course on Monday which finishes at 37 wks so I won't have any time then. I've gone to a place which talks you through loads of options and then orders everything for you and delivers it in one go about three weeks before the due date. Its actually been very helpful and the one delivery will be a great help as I'm never in during the day. It feels a bit funny ordering things for a baby which isn't here yet, I'm usually so superstitous, but the fact that I'm about to start this course has spured me on, and the fact that nothing will be delievered until 37 wks makes me feel better!
Does anyone know what the normal range for heart beats is at this stage in the proceedings? The hb yesterday was about 150, which the m/w said was high, but this was the same visit where they do the glucose tolerance blood test so the poor thing had just had a whole load of lucozade to deal with! Also I can't remember what the old wives tale re the hb and sex ofthe baby, was high girl or boy??!!
I hope you're all well, Denise we haven't heard any news from you and the twins, I'm hoping this is because you're behaving and lying in bed with your feet up.
LOL to all

Hi ladies how are we all doing i hope you all keeping well? Can't belive its getting close now i only have 9 weeks left and have been having braxton hicks for a few days now i have also been told i have SPD which has been giving me a bit of pain, We are going shpping for the cot and pushchair this week so i can't wait we have decided to go with the slivercross travel system is anyone else having this one?? We have been having an extention built to make room for the nursary so that should be all done by wed and then we can start decorating, I can't wait for them to go as the whole house is upside down and my nesting instinct is kicking in i want to get all the baby bits out and put were they should be.

Miss Piggy, I also had a scan today and our baby has a huge stomach and short legs according to the scan report which shows where each measurement sits in relation to the average for that no. of weeks!!! I'm sure we'll love it anyway!
Mrs B, can't believe that braxton hicks start so soon - are they painful? very exciting that your rennovations will soon be complete. We're also having a few things done and all the rooms are upside down, I can't wait to begin nesting. I'm thinking about the bugaboo pram, I initially thought I'd go for one of the 3 wheelers but I liked the fact that the baby can face you or away in the bugaboo. Still haven't finally decided though. I don't think the shop I was in had the silver cross, but the travel system is apparently very useful.
Sha, any news from your GP? The growth scan I had today showed the baby to be normal size (despite shorter than ave legs and fat stomach!) but actually as the placenta is fine you'd expect it to. I mean it will just grow until the womb can't expand anymore and I think thats the point at which it may come early. But I don't think there's any warning of that is there? So I guess scanning not that useful really. One thing is that the baby has been lying across me for the last 3 times I've either had the m/w feel or the doctor and at this scan. This is what the obs I saw said may happen, because the top of the uterus can't stretch the baby can't really go head down so goes side ways. Let me know what your m/w or GP says and whether your baby is also lying across you. If it doesn't turn I think it means coming out of the sunroof. Not sure how you feel about this? I'm fine I think, as long as the baby is fine I don't mind too much how it comes out.

Hi Tams, Braxton hicks are more uncomfortable than painful althought they do kind of stop me from what im doing, They seem to to come on if i over do it aswell they feel a bit like period pains. I love that alot of the pushchairs now have a pram bit aswell so babes can face you thats what i like about the slivercross. How far along are you ladies ??

I'm 27 wks and 2 days - looking forward to 30 wks, think thats a big milestone!
I loved the jean one but was overwhelmed by pregnancy indecision in the shop and went for dark grey and sand - very dull colours I know!
haven't we all come a long way - unbelievable, it feels like only yesterday I was agonising about my beta results. I think 28 wks is a milestone in terms of prem labour, the survival rate goes up to 90% I believe, so thats a huge relief.
Not sure when it feels real, but I think its slowly creeping up on me that I may be going to have a baby!!!
