hello! I've just learnt that I am carrying twins!! only thing is I am also carrying a large blood clot in my uterus. The doctor hopes it will diminish in size but told me if it didn't it could harm the pregnancy. Has anyone else had anything similar? I'm scared.
Hi rebecca,
I have the same thing. After all of my bleedings i have a huge bold clot around teh baby. I don't want to scare you more but my doc said the same, that it can potentially harm the baby if it gets bigger, that is why i am on strict bedrest now. Did your doc put you on bedrest as well?
And Congrats on the twins!!!!! I hope that everything will work out for you, just take it very easy.
Hugs,
Vlada.
hope you are doing ok? I know bed rest must be tough.
The blood clot is actually separate from the babies - it's on it's own in a small sac just floating about baby A but not attached. The doctor told me to take it easy, no excercise and no sex but that was it. I iwsh there was something more I could do - i guess you feel exactly the same.
i was diagnosed with subchorionic bleeds at 9 weeks and have been on pelvic rest for last 10 weeks. They are bleeds from the placenta and then once placenta attaches, the blood stays around. Had alot of bleeding and thought I was loosing the babies at 9 weeks, but they are fine (get to see them next Thursday-can't wait).
They don't usually put people on bedrest here for 1st trimester, but pelvic rest. Mine are slowly going away and hoping to get off restriction real soon! Its been 10 weeks in my house all cooped up with a 2 y/o! She is bored out of her gourd!
Its not like bedrest, b/c I can get out of bed and sit up. Studies have shown that bedrest doesn't help anymore than pelvic rest for threatened m/c in first trimester.
Pelvic rest is nothing in the vagina( no tampons, sex, anything) and just resting and not up on feet (so I am not working right now).
Rebecca - Just saw your post and just wanted to send many blessings for you and your babies. I pray the blood clot goes away quickly for you. Take Care!
Christine
