Hi
I've couldn't resist any longer and did a hpt this morning. It was BFN so been feeling really down today. Maybe it was too early but I'm not feeling very positive.
Not sure what I'm gonna do next, I feel like I need to take a break from this as I'm feeling so drained both emotionally and physically but I've only got til december to use the donor sperm so don't want to waste any time. I had to buy a batch of 10 at the start and still have 6 left.

Hope everyone else is ok

Hi Su,

Do you have blood taken tomorrow or do they rely on a home test? Keep smiling, tomorrow is another day.

I know how hard it is when you feel so emotionally drained from the whole thing. I personally think that having a month's break helped me to recover mentally from the failed IUI and for all the drugs to get out of my system, that progesterone was a nightmare!

I sat in my boss' office and talked to her about everything. I was so emotionally drained from the treatment and other things that were happening that I thought it could never get better. I don't know what happened after that but then I began to have hope and believe it could happen. This all sounds really corny I know but as soon as I let go emotionally it didn't seem so bad.

Everybody's different but just thought I'd share with you what helped me.

Have a good day,

Jane

Hi Jane
No they don't do blood tests, I've just got to do a hpt. I'm feeling a bit more positive today. I still haven't got any AF pain or spotting which is really unusual for me at this stage so maybe ......

Thanks for your advice about taking a break, I'm still giving it a lot of thought but to be honest I think I'll prob just keep going. Apart from having a december deadline to use the donor sperm I'm not sure that I would really relax if I took a break. My cycle's so unreliable without meds I'd just be stressing about that instead. My longest cycle to date was 9 weeks - wouldn't want that long a break! At least I know what to expect during treatment and now I know how the injections affect me maybe I'll deal with the side-effects better next time.

Hope you're feeling ok

Jane - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :D That is awesome!!! Oh my gosh - you must be so excited!!!! I am really happy for you!!! You have got to keep us posted on how things progress!!! YEAH!!!! :o

Su - I am so sorry about your news. I actually got tears in my eyes when I saw your message. :( I know how hard this is and I guess I feel like I am already setting myself up for more bad news soon, too. This is just so hard!!! But I tell myself that there are a lot of worse things that could be happening to us right now. I feel thankful that I am healthy and at least I am not battling some terrible disease, you know?

I just finished my pack of BCP, so hopefully I will start in the next few days and be back at the "House of Doom", AKA The Fertility Center this week. I will hopefully have gotten rid of that stupid cyst and can start everything again. I think if this IUI doesn't work then I will probably consider IVF. The Fertility Center where I go gives odds of 50/50 for a woman my age when going through IVF. Better than the IUI odds, that's for sure! Of course, much more expensive! I work for a big health insurance company and they pay for up to 6 IUI's, but don't cover IVF, so that is why it is tough to leave the IUI route. I just don't want to go throught his forever!!!

Mkdig - I have been thinking about you and hoping you will have some good news for us!! We have to believe that things will work out eventually!!! Sending good wishes your way....

Hi Ladies
I can't sleep so I'm back on here again.
AF arrived here today too so I start injecting again tomorrow.
mkdig I guess that means we'll be doing iui around the same time again and
tina you shouldn't be too far behind. I hope that cyst has gone. Have you got a date for the scan yet?

Fingers crossed for 3 BFPs in October!!!

MkDig - Darn it!!! I just logged on right now to see if you had good news. Well, I should have AF arrive by Wed and then I will go in for my scan. Hopefully all is clear and I will start the injections again. Oh yeah, like I really look forward to those! :D Oh well, maybe this next one will be a BFP!

Su - I agree - October is going to be our month - all 3 of us! In the mean time, Jane can help us stay positive by reminding us of her good fortune.

It is sad that after a while you get to the point where you start to expect negative results, isn't it? It's like you are all positive starting out and then you just kind of get somewhat immune to it and then start expecting bad news. I hate that!! We have to help each other stay positive.

Take care you guys and let's just keep hoping that the next one works for all of us!!

PMA ladies :D

Sounds like you are all going to be IUI ing together. Fingers crossed for some BFPs in October :D Then you will be experiencing the joys of morning sickness and constipation - so hope it happens for you all soon and we can compare notes

I personally am feeling really nauseous but have waited a long time for this horrible feeling so definitely no complaints

Take care,

Jane

Hi Ladies
Good news on the cyst Tina :) and so glad you can join us for this cycle.

Jane, I'm already getting nausea :( - unfortunately it's due to the injections not morning sickness though. Don't you just love hormones! Hope you're not feeling too bad

mkdig - how are you doing? started clomid yet?

I've got my first follie scan on Tuesday. If everything goes like last month I should be due iui the following weekend (but when does anything go to plan? not in my cycle! ha ha)

Have any of you looked at having 2 insems in a cycle? When I asked the nurse she said there was no evidence that it was any more successful than 1 and they consider it a waste of money but I still wonder whether its worth a go. She said the number put in is far more than in natural conception but that doesn't help if the timing is wrong and there seems to be varying opinions about how long the egg is viable and the sperm live and exactly when ovulation takes place. Just interested in your thoughts.

Hey su. yes, im back on the clomid i have an ultrasound on thurs. next week and then im thinking the iui will be sat. I am a little excited that the scan is on a thursday,I'm hoping hell have me do the ovidrel inj. thurs. night and then iui on sat. that way there is more like 36 hours inbetween ovidrel and iui. which ive hear is more ideal. My first two iui's were only like 20 hours after the ovidrel so I'm hoping that helps. Any thoughts?
I havent asked about doing two inseminations per cycle yet, but I have been thinking about it. If they say there isnt much difference i will probably not push the issue.
I hope this is your cycle. Let us know how the scan goes!!!
