I also had one tube blocked (that's what the HSG showed years ago) My RE said it wasn't a factor since your tubes are not being used during your IVF cycle. And, if they are blocked nothing should be able to pass through ?? Well.. I had my first IVF in June and am proud and happy to say that we are pregnant... 17 weeks and 4 days !!!

I hope you all get the answers you are looking for.. IVF is stressful, but its worth it.. We TTC for almost 6 years without any luck. IVF did it for us!

Good Luck Everybody!!

Julie C: Pardon me if I missed it in the threads, but why must you go all the way to Spain/Czech for IVF? Are they special clinics treating special conditions?

As you may have read, I used donor eggs and based on my first beta, my RE is confident I have multiples. I can't use my own eggs because I unfortunately found out (with the death of my daughter last year) that I carry a fatal genetic disorder known as Leigh's syndrome. It is possible that my future children would not have the disease, but no assurances so we decided to use ED. It was a tough to accept at first, but now I'm absolutely ecstatic.

I wish you all the best of luck!

BabyB-

I'm considering Czech or Spain for IVF partly because we are self pay and our insurance does not cover anything, including meds. There is a clinic in Czech that has been doing IVF since 1982 and well recommended. I have already spoken to 3 gals that went there (2 for ED/IVF and 1 IVF). Many gals from the US and UK go there (or IM in Spain) for IVF, or ED/IVF.

Being told my chances of success with own eggs/IVF is 4% is not very encouraging, but yet, I feel I must try one more time before moving on to next steps, which is ED/IVF, which I would also do there.

Good luck Sunday with the beta!
