Says that at 23 weeks there is a 15% chance and at week 24 is when the baby becomes officially viable and by week 28 there is a 90% chance of survival. Hope this helps.

Hi Ladies,

I remember when I was pg with our DD - I felt a little relief once we hit the 28 week mark since our DD would have the best chances after that point. Of course she waited until I was 40 weeks and 5 days to decide to come out so the wait did seem a little longer at that point in my pg. But what was nice I found was the time of year. The fall and the holidays made it an enjoyable time. We had our DD on Dec 7th, 2005 so she blessed us right before Christmas. What a wonderful gift!

I am so glad all of you ladies are doing great! I don't know about you all but I feel a little in limbo since not much is going on except for the wonderful baby movements. I laid in bed last night and I don't know what our baby was doing but she was moving my stomach so much and so hard it had me laughing! My next appointment will be Oct 10th so we shall see what the ultrasound and my OB say.

Take Care Ladies. Sending you all many blessings for sucess!

Christine

That is neat news! Thank you for sharing that. I like hearing information like that! Great site. Thank you. Great answer for Wannabe!!!

Christine
I know what you mean about the baby moving so much! I laugh when they move a lot as well. It is so neat and it feels so neat! I always smile about it that I know that the babies are ok and that things are going along smoothly. Thats awesome that you had that opportunity with your baby!

I went to a mom to mom sale today...tons of fun and I got a ton of stuff!!! Too much I think! LOL Babies are moving a ton today and I got a really nice dress at Motherhood to wear to the wedding today. I am so happy that DH and I are going out for a "date"! A friend is getting married. Should be fun. Just as a side note I have updated my baby blog with nursery/"stuff" pictures at www.thejourneyforbaby.blogspot.com and I have also update my family page with our RV trip pics if you havent already seen them at www.tanshappenings.blogspot.com.

Ladies-
I became an auntie yesterday to a 7lb 7 oz. baby girl! It will be fun buying her baby clothes. I was shocked cuz I thought 100% it was a boy. They didnt find out just like us and it's so exciting when the news finally does come.
As for me, 23 weeks and counting! Viability here I come!!! Cervix measured 3.6 yesterday and was fully closed. Best news I got in weeks! I go back next week for a glucose test (i guess she is testing me early as most test at 28 weeks) and then I start a weekly dose of steriod injections to try to mature the baby's lungs in case of permature birth.
Steph: I could not imagine moving now! Dh was being considered for a new job that would have required us to move and I was secretly praying he didnt get it cuz I couldn't deal with having to move.
Glad to hear about every body elses movements. Can you believe it is almost October! Time sure is flying by.
Just out of curiousity- Am I the only one on bedrest in our group? And how many are still working?
IVF/ICSI 3/07 Froze All 36 eggs
FET 5/07 BFP; DD born early (26 weeks) 10/07
IVF/ICSI 8/09 Froze all 30 eggs
FET 11/09 BFP! TWINS from just 1 frostie! YIKES.

Good to hear from you! Glad to hear that things are going along well for you. I am not working and not on bed rest although some days I feel like it....never getting up due to back pain. Other than that things are good here. Every day is one day closer to a healthy baby. Arent you so excited considering all you have been through? Your baby is a trooper! I think it is a great idea that they are starting the steroid shots. That is a really great precautionary measure. Cervix is looking good and protecting your nugget!!!!! YEAH!!!

I'm so happy to see movement in our chatting again.

Tanya I'm glad you and those lil cuties are doing well.

Rikirees I'm so so happy that your lil one is such a fighter!!!! I learned from my silly OB that when you empty your bladder fully that your cervix will measure longer.. Hummm No wonder my cervix goes up and down. I wish you the best and am keeping fingers crossed for you.

I can say that the move was a pain in the butt but that was more of a control issue. Since I'm not able to lift over 5 pounds my in-laws and 1 set of neighbors and DH did the entire move with me watching and doing nothing. Gotta love them for that and feed them a lot!! Oh well hubby is having surgury tomorrow on his throat for his thyroid. So I hope to chat soon if not just know I am thinking of you all and hoping all is well.

Good Morning...I definately have a case of the "Mondays"..my DH and I love the movie The Office so I cannot help quoting whenever possible. We went apple picking this W/E and I got stung by a bee, have been nauseous ever since but didn't swell only the 2nd time it's ever happened to me oh well, I won't be thinking about the bee sting when I'm eating my apple crisp!

Malinka- good to reduce hours..I haven't told anyone but my hours have recently changed to 9-4:30....nobody has said anything yet LOL

My2LnT- I know what you mean about watching people work..It's kind of fun at first....gets tired quick though. Cooking is work too though. Many good wishes for your DH's surgery.

TansRN- My back starts to hurt when I lie to long...also my hips fall asleep if I lie on them for too long. Did your DR advise lying on one side or the other?

RIkirees- Congrats...your an aunt! that's great about your cervex.

Christine- the movements are great aren't they...I never get tired of her moving.....all over the place!

So glad that the move went well for you. That is wonderful. I know what you mean about control. In fact I think that we are two peas in a pod!!!I am so thrilled that things continue to move along nicely for you!!!

Malinka
Are you able to take anything but tums for your reflux? I dont really know about taking RX drugs when pg. Can you? That is a horrible feeling. I dont even have reflux problems and when I lay down and the baby on top starts kicking it feels really bad!!!

Noodle
My doc said just do what is comfortable but preferably on the left for circulation purposes. I just keep flip flopping all night!!!

Noodle - I have read a lot and my OB recommended mainly sleeping on your left side. The right side can cause issues with the blood flow to the baby. I mainly lay on my left and sometimes on my back. Hope you don't have any problems from that bee sting! And fresh apple crisp sounds wonderful! Enjoy!

Malinka - Glad you are able to cut your work hours down. I had to go to the emergency room around 26 weeks last time I was preg with a lot of pressure in my chest that was making it hard for me to breathe and very nauseas. They ran all sorts of tests then gave me Maalox and some nausea medicine. They figured the problem was reflux and the Maalox took care of it. My OB said the Maalox is fine. My previous boss took Mylanta almost daily when she was preg. So I hope your reflux gets manageable or goes away completely. Glad you are doing well otherwise.

Rikirees - Congrats on being an Aunt! Shopping for little girls is so much fun! Wonderful news about your cervix. I'm glad your DR is preparing you as much as possible for a potentially early delivery. Wishing you the best possible outcome.

Steph - Hope your DH's surgery went well. I know how you felt when your neighbors and in-law's helped you move in. I've always been the type to do as much as I can myself. But you do have a good excuse right? LOL!

As for me - I stopped working once our DD was born in Dec 2005. I actually went into labor at my work. I've been home with her ever since. Childcare around here is incredibly expensive and we don't have family or close friends that could take care of her so I could work. It is a major financial change but very rewarding to be home at such a critical time in her life. She is the sweetest and adorable little girl.

I hope all of you lovely ladies continue to progress very well. It's nice to hear updates and watch the weeks go by. Many blessings to all of you!

Malinka - Glad to hear from you! How are you feeling? I am doing just fine thanks. I won't know what's going on until my Ultrasound, Glucose Test and OB Checkup on Oct 10th. That will be a busy morning since they scheduled everything back to back. My OB wanted to see the scan results at my checkup so we can discuss any changes in my due date or any other issues.

DH and I have discussed names a little and my DH really wants to use his mom's name Jane as the middle name and possibly Madison for the first name. So I guess Madison Jane is a possibility. I'm not too keen on Jane but we used my grandmother's name for our DD's middle name and it only seems fair to let him have his choice. So we are still working on it.

Have you discussed any name possibilities yet? I'm sure having those couple of days off during the week will help you get some things done as well as rest some. I felt pretty good up until the end so I worked full time until I went into labor. What is your actual due date?
